Role - Strategic Technical AdvisorProject: High-end Construction Development, LagosEngagement Type: Part-Time Advisory / RetainerRole Overview:HFN Investments is developing one of Lagos’ most ambitious real estate projects; a high-end, internationally branded mixed-use development set to redefine the skyline and hospitality experience in the city.We are seeking the services of a Strategic Technical Advisor to provide senior-level technical, design, and strategic guidance to HFN Investments. This guidance will ensure the successful delivery of a high-end hotel in Lagos, with world-class execution, value optimisation, and compliance with international brand standards.The advisor will act as a trusted partner to HFN leadership, serving as a strategic sounding board, quality filter, and credibility layer in dealings with the operator, investors, and contractors.This is a non-operational role, meaning the advisor does not manage day-to-day project execution. Instead, they support decision-making, risk mitigation, and governance across all technical, commercial, and delivery fronts.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide independent technical and design guidance to ensure construction quality and global standard compliance.Review key design and engineering decisions for buildability, performance, and long-term value.Advise on construction methodology and sequencing to optimize efficiency and reduce risk.Evaluate material selections and systems for technical suitability and cost-effectiveness.Offer expert input on resolving complex coordination challenges across architectural, structural, and MEP interfaces.Support the project team in developing quality assurance and value engineering frameworks.Provide strategic advice on contractor performance, workmanship quality, and technical compliance.Participate in milestone-level reviews at critical project stages to validate workmanship and finish standards.Advise on adherence to safety, sustainability, and regulatory compliance throughout the build.Serve as a trusted technical sounding board to HFN leadership, offering objective, experience-backed guidance that enhances project outcomes.Engagement TermsScope of Involvement:2 working days per month on a retainer basis (including 1 site visit).On-call availability for key milestones (e.g., MUR walkthrough, design freeze, financing pitch, handover review).CompensationFixed monthly retainer.Daily rate for ad-hoc assignments beyond scope.Profile Requirements15+ years’ experience in large-scale real estate or hospitality projects.⁠Proven track record with international hotel operators (Radisson, Hilton, Marriott, etc.).⁠Strong technical, contractual, and commercial acumen across design, construction, and handover stages.⁠Recognized reputation with investors and financial institutions.⁠Independent, objective, and free from conflicts of interest with contractors or vendors.
