This position involves working from technicalblueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to assembleaircraft and aerospace components, ensuring quality standards are met.Collaborates with engineering teams, uses hand tools and specializedequipment, and follows stringent safety guidelines to producehigh-quality products.Essential Functions Assembles structural sections of aircraft using fabricated parts,subassemblies, and components by safely using hand tools and powertools in accordance with blueprints and specifications. Drill holes into structure and subassemblies and attaches brackets,hinges, or clips. Cuts, trims, and files parts to the proper fit. Locates and identifies reference points and holes for installationof parts using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments. Ensures parts are aligned to acceptable tolerances. Inspects and tests installed units, parts, and equipment for fit,form, and function in compliance with standards using appropriatemeasuring instruments and test equipment. Tends machines, such as arbor presses or riveting machine, toperform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.Non-essential Functions Provides guidance to bench assemblers when needed. Provides assistance to other production areas as needed. Maintains clean work area, tools, and equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE Ability to read blueprints required. Ability to apply basic math, including adding, subtracting,multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using wholenumbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to communicate verbally in one-on-one situations withmanagement and co-workers; listen to others without interrupting andget clarification when needed. Ability to safely and properly use gauges, calipers, and other toolsand equipment. Ability to identify proper materials and supplies according tospecifications.COMPETENCIES Mechanical aptitude.
