By focusing on these key areas, we aim to be a progressive Supply Chain organization that leads the competition and can be a driving force for the company.Shell Chemicals and Products Refining is a vital segment of Shell's global operations, transforming crude oil and feedstocks into fuels, petrochemicals, and specialty chemicals, while continuously updating its portfolio to include sustainable chemicals made from bio-based and circular feedstocks to support low-carbon and sustainability goals.Within Canada, the team manages a large 3rd party spend portfolio through a robust supply chain infrastructure spanning multiple warehouses in country and suppliers across the world. The team ensures efficient delivery of services and products to the sites such as materials, equipment, maintenance services, project services, as well as, warehousing and logistics solutions.What's The RoleThis role will be supporting the Canada region (Scotford, Alberta and Sarnia, Ontario Assets) and the respective shift requirement is expected.Sourcing and Contracting Process and Buying Channel Optimization: Ensures smooth execution of pre-award and post-award activities as per the companies Category Management and Contracting Process framework. This includes assessing demand and supply, developing and selecting strategies, sourcing goods/services, negotiating and awarding agreements, implementing the contract, and execution and management of the contract(s) once finalized. Additionally, individuals will be responsible for obtaining the appropriate approvals for strategy and award within the company governance structure. Prioritize efficient buying channels and assessing demand patterns to select the most suitable channel for cost-effective procurement aligning them with the relevant category strategy.Value Creation and Risk Management: Focusing not only on the initial contract commercial pricing but also on Post Award Contract Management to drive supplier performance and performance culture improving the total cost of ownership for the assets. Assesses market risks, ensures compliance, and implements mitigation strategies for supply chain continuity and business resilience (e.g labour imbalances, material/equipment scarcity). Manage contractual risks by ensuring adherence with legal and Shell requirements for terms and conditions and addresses issues through escalation processes for seamless contract implementation and operational alignment. Knoweldge of contracting terms and conditions and experience with negotiating agreements is required.Supplier and Market Engagement: Profiles suppliers and assesses market conditions to enhance relationships and unlock competitive advantages. Uses data-driven approaches and strategic supplier management for optimized procurement outcomes and long-term partnerships.Strategic Collaboration: Align procurement strategies with business objectives by collaborating with all stakeholders (multi site) and contract owners/holders. Strong stakeholder management skills such as communication, conflict management, and utilizing data/insights to influence others is required.What You BringSourcing Strategy Development: Develop and implement sourcing strategies during the pre-award phase, including commercial negotiations and structuring contracts to achieve objectives.Contract Management: Facilitate the source-to-contract process as per the CMCP Framework, oversee contract implementation, and manage contract performance.Strong Business Acumen and Commercial Delivery Experience: Demonstrated ability to deliver integrated value creation, execution excellence, and results.Front-Line Negotiation Experience: Proven expertise as a Supply Chain/Commercial professional with hands-on negotiation skills.Interpersonal and Stakeholder Management Skills: Strong ability to manage relationships at all levels in the organization and influence stakeholders.Learner Mindset and Agility: Open-minded, self-starter with leadership capabilities, adaptability, and a focus on change management.Performance and Risk Management Oversight: Assess contractor performance, implement controls and recovery measures, and drive continuous improvement in all practices (including key risks).
