We’re building more than infrastructure; we are building your future.General SummaryAssists the chief surveyor and Instrument person surveying and measuring of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for constructionEssential Job AccountabilitiesCollect data in the field by measuring, observing, and recording land and geographic featuresOperate and maintain surveying instruments with GPS systems, machine control systems and late model survey equipmentObtain & record as-built survey data as required to ensure compliance and accuracyCollaborate with project managers & engineers to ensure compliance and accuracyPerform construction surveys and field stake-out for area roads, bridges, buildings, and other properties.Receives overall direction from Crew Chief and/or Instrument person.Has knowledge on land surveying principles and possess mathematical abilities.Follow safety protocols when working outdoors & ensure the safety of other team members working on siteEducationHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experienceWork ExperienceAppropriate training and experience requiredKnowledge, Skills And AbilitiesRepeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedureEvaluate information using measurable standards.Physically, Workers Must Be Able ToStand or walk for long periodsUse arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objectsLift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 poundsClimb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects and carry tools and equipmentStoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, and specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.About Granite Construction IncorporatedGranite Construction Incorporated is a member of the S&P 400 Index and is the parent company of Granite Construction Company, one of the nation's largest heavy civil contractors and construction materials producers.
