We support corporates—particularly public listed companies, in developing sustainability strategies, policies, action plans, sustainability reports, good governance practices, and in setting ESG KPIs and targets, alongside conducting materiality assessments. As a member of the IFRS Sustainability Alliance and an IFRS-certified training partner for Integrated Reporting, JRC is also at the forefront of supporting Malaysian companies in implementing IFRS S1 and S2 sustainability-related disclosures.We are looking for a Sustainability Reporting and Advisory Interns to join our team on a full-time, work from home basis. Successful interns will gain hands-on practical industry knowledge on sustainability reporting, guidance, and advisory, preparing them for roles as sustainability professionals in corporate or agency settings. Top performing, high-potential interns can be given full time employment opportunities to join JRC.ResponsibilitiesSupport the creation of sustainability reports by working on ESG findings and collected data.Edit and proofread reports, ensuring grammatical accuracy and a clear, concise, and cohesive narrative.Collaborate with internal, external, and client teams to align expectations, timelines, and strategic direction.Conduct ESG / sustainability gap analysis and materiality assessmentsPreparation of ESG data templates in alignment with Bursa, GRI, FTSE, & SASB requirementsTabulate ESG data received (including emissions calculations) and critically review and evaluate the data to interpret its significancePrepare and draft sustainability reports, corporate policies, strategies, ESG targets and implementation roadmaps based on the ESG findings and data gatheredPresent the ESG findings, strategies, roadmaps and policies and reports drafted to the Board and Management of public listed companiesAssist in various organisational functions, including preparing Annual Reports, Integrated Reports; participating in training and workshop facilitation; and contributing to the development of data templates and questionnaires.RequirementsPreferred educational background includes candidates pursuing or holding a Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Journalism, Environmental Engineering, English or any equivalent degreeAny certifications/experiences related to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) will be highly appreciatedMust have excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken. Proficiency in other languages i.e. Malay, Mandarin, Tamil, etc. is an advantageCompetent with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPointBasic knowledge of sustainability, environmental issues, and global trends is a mustAn aptitude for undertaking research, fact-checking, critical thinking, and exhibiting intelligence is essentialAbility to work independently and contribute effectively as part of a teamFamiliarity with key sustainability frameworks, ESG standards, and environmental data analysis is an advantage, though not mandatory.RestrictionsThis is an internship remote-working position open to Klang Valley residents with valid working permits only.As part of your role, you will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement.
