Job Description

The client is a private equity backed utility scale developer led by a leadership team who's collectively developed 15GW of projects. They have a robust pipeline of 2GW of operational projects with more projects coming online.The SVP of Project Finance will lead all aspects of financing strategy, structuring, and execution for renewable energy projects. This senior leadership role is responsible for originating, negotiating, and closing complex project and portfolio financings spanning debt, equity, and hybrid instruments to support the company’s rapid growth in solar, wind and storage. Strategic LeadershipDevelop and implement the company’s project finance strategy to optimize capital structure and maximize project returns.Oversee all project-level and portfolio-level financing activities, from origination to financial close.Advise the executive team and board on financing options, market trends, and investment risks.Build and maintain relationships with lenders, investors, and strategic partners (e.g., banks, DFIs, infrastructure funds, and tax equity investors).Transaction ManagementLead end-to-end execution of project finance transactions, including due diligence, financial modeling, term sheet negotiation, documentation, and closing.Structure financing solutions for both greenfield and brownfield renewable assets.Manage debt and equity syndication processes and negotiate with multiple financing counterparties.Oversee preparation of investment memoranda and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.Financial Strategy & Risk ManagementOptimize project economics through efficient financing, risk allocation, and contract structuring (e.g., PPAs, EPC, O&M).Identify and mitigate key project finance risks, including market, counterparty, regulatory, and construction risks.Support corporate finance initiatives, including M&A, joint ventures, and refinancing activities.Team LeadershipLead and mentor a high-performing project finance team across regions.Foster collaboration between development, legal, technical, and asset management teams to ensure bankable project delivery.Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting, and governance.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.15+ years of experience in project finance or infrastructure investment, with at least 7 years in renewable energy.Proven track record closing large-scale renewable transactions Deep understanding of financial modeling, structured finance, and project documentation (term sheets, loan agreements, etc.).Established network of relationships with lenders, investors, and industry partners in the renewable sector.Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
