While working towards our mission we aim to build a diverse team of curious and dedicated individuals with different experiences.WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?We are seeking a systems engineer with a passion for safety, capable of integrating functional safety engineering and autonomous system design. In this role, you will work closely and openly with autonomy software, data platform, operations, and AI architecture teams to shape safe, reliable autonomous systems. You will lead the adoption of ISO 26262 and SOTIF (ISO 21448) processes, drive safety-case creation, and actively contribute hands-on coding and system integration as a proactive and collaborative partner.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams (autonomy software, data platform, operations, AI architecture) to define and refine safety requirements and system architectures that prioritize reliability and fault toleranceDesign and implement validation processes and metrics to evaluate autonomous system behavior under degraded or fault conditions, including creating simulation scenarios and test automation scriptsResolve integration conflicts between safety requirements and functional objectives by working hands-on with software and systems engineers through design reviews and iterative prototypingContribute directly to coding in Python for data analysis, simulation scripting, and automated testing of safety features, with occasional C++ integration workDocument safety concepts, test results, and compliance evidence to support internal reviews, customer deliverables, and third-party safety assessmentsMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience5+ years in safety-critical automotive, aerospace, or robotics systems in a production environmentPractical proficiency in Python for safety-related data analysis, simulation scripting, automated test/report generation, and designing evaluation methods for system validationIn-depth working experience with ISO 26262 and familiarity with SOTIF (ISO 21448) in real-world projectsStrong cross-functional communication and documentation skills to convey technical issues precisely and factuallyNICE TO HAVESMaster’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related fieldExperience in developing software components that are designed for integration within autonomous driving systems or similar real-time robotics systems, or in integrating such components into complete systemsProficiency in C++ (C++14 or later) for safety-critical embedded software developmentKnowledge of safety analysis methods such as FMEA/FMEDA, and FTAExperience with requirements management processes and maintaining traceability across the system lifecycleExperience in safety case development or safety argumentation for Level 4 autonomous driving systems=========================================================================Important Points・All interviews will be arranged via Google Meet, unless otherwise stated.・The same job descriptions are available in both English and Japanese; therefore, we kindly ask that you apply to only one version.・We kindly request that you submit your resume in English, if possible.
