Backed by a strong leadership team and solid financial footing, the company is growing rapidly and looking to bring on a senior commercial leader to support expansion. Position OverviewWe are partnering with the executive team to identify a Head of Business Development who will lead market expansion and strategic growth initiatives.
This individual will be responsible for driving commercial partnerships, originating new project opportunities, and leading the company’s go-to-market efforts in new and existing geographies. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of the solar ecosystem, strong deal execution experience, and a proven ability to build relationships across the value chain. Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development and execution of the company’s business development strategy focused on community solar project origination and strategic partnerships. Identify and secure landowner, utility, developer, and channel partner relationships to enable pipeline growth.
Partner cross-functionally with internal teams including policy, interconnection, finance, and operations to assess project viability and execution risk. Expand subscriber acquisition channels through partnership development and contract negotiations. Evaluate emerging markets and regulatory opportunities to inform long-term expansion strategy. Represent the company externally at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings. Build and manage a high-performing team to scale business development efforts nationally. Qualifications8+ years of progressive experience in business development, partnerships, or commercial origination within the solar or broader renewable energy industry. Strong understanding of community solar market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and incentive structures.
Demonstrated success in sourcing and closing commercial agreements or project partnerships. Ability to think strategically while executing tactically in a fast-paced environment. Skilled communicator and relationship-builder with experience navigating complex stakeholder landscapes. Prior experience leading or mentoring a team is strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus.
