If you’re motivated, client-focused, and excited to grow, RSJ is the ideal place to start your public accounting career.What You Will DoPrepare complex tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, S-Corps, and C-CorpsConduct tax research and summarize findings using authoritative sourcesAssist with Estimated tax payments adn extensionsEnsure timely, accurate, and high-quality deliverables that meet RSJ standardsAssist with IRS and state tax notices, including direct communication with agenciesParticipate in client meetings and serve as a day-to-day contact on engagementsIdentify workflow inefficiencies and recommend improvementsContribute to internal committees and firm-wide initiativesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred)2+ years of public accounting experience (mid-sized firm experience preferred)Actively pursuing CPA or EA licensure (required for promotion to Manager)Strong knowledge of Federal and California tax law for individuals and businessesExperience with flow-through entities, S corporations, and C corporationsProficiency in CCH ProSystem fx or CCH Axcess, Microsoft Excel, and XCMExcellent communication, organization, and time management skillsWhat We OfferSalary range: $65,000 - $85,000 (commensurate with experience)Medical, dental, and vision insurance optionsHealth Savings Account: Firm contributes $1,300 annually (accrues monthly) if enrolled in medical insurance coverage with the firm125 Plan401(k): 25% match of employee contributions after one year of servicePaid time off: 20 days annually (accrued monthly) plus full week off for ThanksgivingEmployer-paid CPEsLife insuranceEmployee Referral bonus programFree parkingOn-site lunch provided twice a week during non-busy season; lunch and dinner during busy seasonBillable Hour Requirement: 1500-1600 annual billable hour targetBusy Season Expectation: 55-hour weeks for a limited number of weeksWork EnvironmentThis position requires in-office presence for the first two months. After that, the role can transition to a hybrid schedule with three days per week in the Encino office or stay fully on-site.
