This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing tax compliance and contributing to the company’s continued success. If you possess strong technical expertise in tax accounting and compliance, combined with excellent interpersonal skills, we invite you to apply.Key Responsibilities:Manage Global/Regional Tax Projects : Manage, handle, collaborate with Group Tax Team on cross-functional, global, and regional tax initiatives. Represent the local tax perspective, support implementation of new tools or policies, and drive successful execution of corporate tax transformation projects at the country level.Manage Tax Authorities : Manage and handle all interactions with local tax authorities, including day-to-day correspondence, queries, audits, and dispute resolution. Mediate complex tax matters, facilitate discussions, and report critical developments and compliance risks to the Group Tax Team in a timely and structured manner.Prepare and File VAT/WHT Returns : Compute, verify, and prepare accurate monthly and quarterly VAT and Withholding Tax (WHT) returns. Ensure timely filing in accordance with local regulations and internal controls. Liaise with internal departments and shared service centers to collect, validate, and consolidate tax data efficiently.Lead Tax Audits : Lead, coordinate, and close open tax audits by managing documentation flow, responding to tax authority queries, and reviewing audit support files prepared by service centers. Collaborate with tax advisors and legal teams to defend positions and mitigate potential exposures.Oversee VAT Refunds : Oversee the end-to-end VAT refund process by preparing, submitting, and tracking refund applications. Engage with tax authorities to resolve disputes or delays and ensure accurate accounting and reconciliation of received refunds.Monitor Tax Legislation : Track and analyze changes in Egyptian tax laws, regulations, and administrative practices. Interpret their impact on the company’s operations and communicate relevant updates to stakeholders. Recommend procedural changes to maintain full compliance.Manage External Relationships : Build, develop, and maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders, including financial auditors, tax advisors, and government authorities. Leverage these partnerships to gain insights, validate positions, and ensure smooth handling of tax matters.Prepare Regional Tax Reports : Prepare, compile, and submit monthly and quarterly tax reports to the Regional Tax team. Verify the accuracy of reported figures, highlight key movements or risks, and support ad hoc reporting requirements.Track Fiscal Developments : Monitor fiscal and economic policy developments in Egypt. Evaluate their implications on the business and propose improvements to tax processes to capture incentives or minimize compliance risks. Align internal practices with evolving regulatory landscapes.Review Tax Provisions : Review, validate, and finalize quarterly and annual tax provision calculations. Ensure adequacy of tax liabilities, reserves, and contingencies by applying appropriate accounting standards and collaborating with the Finance team and external consultants.Evaluate Business Processes : Assess the tax impact of existing and evolving business operations. Review process flows, identify tax inefficiencies or risks, and recommend revisions to align with both the business model and local tax requirements.Mentor and Support Teams : Mentor, guide, and support internal business teams on day-to-day tax matters. Provide training, respond to queries, and increase tax awareness across departments. Foster a collaborative environment that promotes compliance and knowledge sharing.Qualification:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.3-4 years of experience in local direct and indirect taxes.In-depth knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance, and relevant tax laws.Fluency in English (both written and spoken).Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with teams across various functions.Qualified professional with a recognized certification such as ACCA, CBA, or ADIT.Who will excel?We’re looking for people with high standards, who understand that hard work matters.You need to be relentlessly resourceful and operate with a deep bias for action.We need people with the courage to be fiercely original.noon is not for everyone; readiness to adapt, pivot, and learn is essential.
