Consider applying as a skills lecturer at Education and Learning Sciences (ELS).ELS is responsible for teaching a large range of academic, professional and personal development skills in BSc, MSc, PhD and post-graduate programs of WUR. As a skills lecturer you will be responsible for teaching and coordinating both BSc and MSc skills courses in project management, consultancy and management/leadership. Guiding students’ transdisciplinary (i.e. society-inclusive) projects and coaching them on their learning paths is also part of your duties.Students from all over the world and from different study programs participate in the courses. Moreover, students collaborate in their projects with all kinds of societal stakeholders. This requires your competence in addressing diversity, both culturally as well as disciplinary. You are used and do not mind taking up different tasks and to be adaptive to a large variety of contexts you teach in. You are an excellent organizer, and you experience rotating tasks as an opportunity to learn from. You will become an active member of the ELS teacher team by means of contributing to team meetings and the quality improvement of our course portfolio. Practical experience in (project)management and consultancy is a big plus for this position.Your Duties And Responsibilities IncludeAs a Teacher 3 (max 0.5 fte) you will be (co)responsible for:(co) teaching Project Management, Management skills and Consultancy skills in various BSc and MSc programs at WUR;the coordination of part of the courses (including contacts with stakeholders from programs/courses in which the courses are incorporated; planning groups and staff; preparing course materials for the teachers; communication with students and staff during the course);guiding/coaching students in their society-based ‘real life’ projects;ELS team efforts (including sharing expertise; innovation of courses (for example changing learning activities or assessment); pro-active participation in team meetings).Your teamYou will work within an enthusiastic and experienced interdisciplinary team of teachers all inspired to support the development of Wageningen students’ skills performance as part of their academic, professional and personal growth.You will work hereYou will be based at the Education and Learning Sciences group within the Social Sciences department of Wageningen University and teach throughout the whole university.Your qualitiesYour qualitiesyou are highly motivated to contribute to international students’ academic, personal and professional development especially to developing their project management, management and consultancy skills;you have an MSc (and/or PhD) degree and working experience in skills education preferably in the life sciences; you have a UTQ qualification; your own management and consultancy skills are at such a level that you can be a role model for students and use both theory and practical experience in your teaching; you are an excellent organizer and planner, structured, adaptive and with an eye for detail;you like to work as part of a team as well as working more independently;you have excellent communication skills, both orally and written, and you are fluent in English (C1-C2) and able to teach in Dutch (B2-C2);you show an open minded, pro-active and flexible attitude.You are available at least from March 2026 onwards.We offer youWageningen University & Research offers excellent terms of employment.
