Team Lead - Cost Management

We are a leading recruitment company in Sri Lanka, looking for a Team lead - Cost Management for a construction company based in Colombo. The ideal candidate will oversee a team of cost management professionals, ensuring the delivery of robust cost planning, control, and reporting across high-profile projects. This senior role requires both technical expertise and strong leadership skills. The position involves acting as a trusted advisor to clients while guiding and developing a team to achieve excellence in all aspects of cost management.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide expert oversight of cost plans, Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and tender documentation. Monitor financial performance, identify cost risks and opportunities, and prepare accurate reports for clients. Mentor and develop junior cost managers to foster accountability, professional growth, and continuous improvement. Represent the organization as a senior point of contact for cost consultancy services on major projects. Ensure the consistent delivery of accurate cost estimates, forecasts, and project budgets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cost efficiency and compliance with project requirements.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying (RICS accreditation preferred). 10+ years of experience in cost management, including at least 3 years in a leadership or team lead role. Strong knowledge of construction markets, procurement strategies, and contract frameworks. Proven track record in delivering cost management services on complex, large-scale projects. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy in cost reporting. Ability to manage multiple priorities and guide teams to meet deadlines effectively.
