With a reputation for delivering trusted consumer products to major retailers and wholesalers, the organisation prides itself on maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and engineering excellence.Purpose of the RoleThe Technical Projects Manager will lead, plan and execute engineering projects across the full project lifecycle — including feasibility, scoping, capital projects, plant upgrades, infrastructure development, equipment installations and process improvements. The role requires strong technical project management capability within a tissue paper or heavy manufacturing environment, and demands close collaboration with engineering, production, maintenance, procurement, contractors, OEMs, and cross-functional teams.The successful incumbent will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and aligned to quality, safety and operational requirements.Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution Develop detailed project plans including scope, deliverables, resources, timelines and budgets. Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects safely and efficiently. Oversee on-site project activities, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and minimal disruption to production. Track progress and report on milestones, risks, delays and corrective actions. Facilitate technical discussions and ensure alignment with operational requirements. Stakeholder & Resource Management Build strong relationships with internal teams, contractors and third-party suppliers. Communicate project updates, risks and issues clearly and timeously. Coordinate resource allocation with engineering, production and maintenance teams. Resolve resource conflicts and project constraints proactively. Risk & Quality Management Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans. Ensure project deliverables meet quality, safety and customer expectations. Maintain full project documentation and change-control records. Budget & Cost Control Develop and manage project budgets effectively. Track expenditure, forecasts and cost deviations. Identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities. Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement Provide leadership, motivation and guidance to project teams. Chair project review and status meetings (e.g., bi-weekly). Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive the adoption of best practices. Conduct lessons-learned reviews after project close-out. RequirementsExperience & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (essential). Additional Project Management qualification (advantageous). 15+ years’ project management experience, preferably in a Tissue Paper or FMCG manufacturing environment. Proven experience managing capital projects, tender processes, contractors, feasibility studies, benchmarking, cost control and execution. Strong working knowledge of manufacturing operations, production processes and safety standards. Proficient in project planning tools (MS Project or similar). Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport. Knowledge, Skills & Attributes Strong understanding of project management methodologies. Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving abilities. High proficiency in MS Office. Ability to manage multiple high-value projects simultaneously. Strong business and financial acumen. Demonstrates a growth mindset: trust, respect, collaboration, adaptability, courage and focus.
