Overview:Ensuring that the statement of financial position and statement of financial performance areas relating to factory finance and costing & management accounting areas is fairly represented.Oversee and manage the factory finance and costing & management accounting functionsGuide and oversee the implementation and management of costing, accounting and other financial policies and processes within the companyProvide operational financial guidance to direct subordinates and to factory management teams, driving financial objectives within facilitiesOversee and consolidate accurate and timeous reporting for management and strategic decision-makingResponsibilities:Planning, Policies and SystemsReview and manage the implementation of aligned and compliant financial policies and procedures Oversee costing policies, systems and methods, ensuring integrity, accuracy and security of costing tables and dataOperational Management Review and sign off on financial reports, forecasts, budgets etc.Manage the annual budget in a manner that ensures alignment with operational planRecommend system and process improvements for SA OperationsRecommend, initiate and co-ordinate value added projectsReview and approve commercial evaluations, RFQs/RFPs and standard costAlign factory and marketing cost-saving initiatives and identify cost reduction and efficiency improvement opportunitiesFinancial ManagementManage the annual budget and forecasts, ensuring that preparations meet the guidelines and instructions and align with the operational planEnsure validity, accuracy and completeness of financial informationReview reconciliation of balance sheet accounts against the ledgerEnsure control and approval of expenses in accordance to approved frameworkReview and sign off supplier payments and payrollAudit and Risk ManagementReview, assess and guide mitigation of all concerns and risks raisedSet up effective processes to ensure optimum risk assessment, feasibility assessment and planning are implementedUnit ManagementProvide technical and operational input during drafting of the SAOperations strategy and operational objectivesGuide operational planning and advise on prioritisation of activitiesProvide input into budgets and resource requirements for unitRequest and allocate assets and resources for the fulfilment of work objectives and monitor their useProvide unit staff with day-to-day direction and tasksRequirements:Background/experienceChartered Accountant CA (SA) or equivalent preferred6 to 8 years’ relevant experience in a financial management environmentExperience in a manufacturing environment and in the managementof staffSpecific Job SkillsComputer literacy: proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and a fully integrated ERP system CompetenciesCreating clarityInterpreting, interrogating and internalising informationOffering insightsMaintaining accuracyManaging performanceFinalising OutputsMaking DecisionsAbility to perform under pressureAspen fully subscribes to the principles of Employment Equity and will make decisions in line with this ethos.Closing date: 21 November 2025#EA
