Fitter and Turner

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fitter and Turner to join our team in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is an experienced artisan with strong technical ability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently—especially during shifts and standby duties.The Fitter and Turner will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment in our manufacturing facility.ResponsibilitiesComply with SHE rules and regulationsConduct planned maintenance and routine inspectionsRepair plant equipment and manage machine breakdownsPerform project work and assist with new installationsManage all shift-related breakdowns and maintenance activitiesPerform ad hoc tasks as required by the line managerCreate and complete job cards on electronic performance management systems QualificationsMatric Certificate with recognized N3 Mechanical Trade TheoryQualified Artisan (Fitter and Turner) with Trade CertificateProven ability to operate Lathe and Milling MachinesBasic rigging experience (with proof of training) is advantageous Required SkillsMinimum 5 years post-apprenticeship experience in manufacturingBoiler house knowledgeArc and gas welding experience (essential)Good communication skillsComputer literacyMust have own transportWilling to do standby, shift work, and overtime on weekendsAbility to work independently during night shift/weekendsMust be able to work in high and confined spacesForklift driving capabilityMust have own toolset available from day 1 Preferred SkillsExperience in a similar manufacturing environmentAdditional certifications related to machinery operation
