Job DescriptionNOV ReedHycalog is a worldwide leader in the design, manufacture, and sale of tools and equipment used by the energy industry. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team based in Cape Town. In this role you will be responsible for the development and deployment of software products to internal customers. The software engineer will work closely with the product team to create technical cloud-based services in support of engineering, manufacturing, and wellbore physics simulation.What You'll Be DoingWork closely with product team to collect requirements and verify design feasibilityTransform high-level application requirements into performant and extensible architectural designsModel complex engineering processes in softwareCode, document, and deploy APIs for internal consumption (REST, AMQP, etc.)Build high performance services to collect edge data that will be incorporated into our reporting and simulation software.What You'll NeedBachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent software engineering experience)Strong proficiency in an object oriented and/or functional programming languageSolid understanding of algorithms, software design principles, and design patternsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHands-on experience working in agile development environmentsPreferred ExperienceExperience with energy, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering software toolsExperience deploying infrastructure as codeFamiliarity with .NET (C#, F#)Proven ability to build and scale production-grade applications Why NOV?At NOV, we build solutions that power the world.
