Test Automation Engineer (Contract, 3 months)

Our partner company provides an innovative bank card payment solution in Hungary that offers micro, small, and medium-sized businesses an easy, cost-effective, and secure card acceptance option.ContextWe are setting up an additional, independent AI‑assisted testing channel to complement vendor testing, internal testing, and external specialist testing. Due to strong time pressure, we will focus on plug‑and‑play AI‑first testing platforms (e.g., Virtuoso‑type, TestSprite‑type) or AI add‑ons on existing stacks.You will work closely with an internal AI Lab (engineering + platform + PM) and the Fintech product teams. The goal is to get real test execution and validated findings quickly, not theoretical tool research.What you will doEvaluate and operationalize AI‑first E2E + API testing platforms in our environment (staging/QA).Set up and run the first meaningful E2E/API test flows (breadth smoke + depth on critical journeys).Integrate test execution with existing delivery pipelines (CI/CD) where feasible, and define lightweight execution schedules otherwise.Design a stable regression pack for top‑risk user journeys and critical APIs.Actively reduce flakiness: test data strategy, environment readiness checks, locator strategy, retries only where justified.Validate AI‑generated tests and AI suggestions: treat AI output as a hypothesis, not ground truth.Produce high‑quality defect reports and handover to dev teams (clear repro steps, evidence, severity, suspected root cause).Document the “how we run this” playbook: ownership, triage, metrics, guardrails.Must‑have experience7+ years in test automation / SDET roles, with proven delivery in fast‑moving environments.Strong E2E automation fundamentals (web UI + API). Familiarity with modern frameworks (Playwright/Cypress/Selenium, REST testing tooling).CI/CD integration experience (GitHub Actions / GitLab CI / Jenkins or similar).Solid understanding of test strategy, test data, and reliability engineering for automated tests.Ability to work with partially documented systems and converge quickly via stakeholder interviews.Comfortable validating AI‑generated outputs and building safe guardrails.Strong communication: can work with product owners, developers, and external vendors.Nice to haveExperience in fintech, payments, neobank, POS, or other regulated domains.Experience with codeless/low‑code testing platforms (Virtuoso/Testim/Mabl/Functionize/etc.).Security testing awareness (basic OWASP, DAST concepts) – not required, but valuable.
