Job Description

Our client, a prominent non-bank financial institution within the public sector, is seeking to recruit a procurement officer who will be a key member of the procurement team, responsible for supporting the efficient and compliant acquisition of goods, works, and services essential for the institution's operations. The ideal candidate will be reporting to the manager of procurement and will manage end-to-end procurement processes, ensure strict adherence to public procurement policies and regulatory guidelines, and secure optimal value for money. This role is critical for maintaining operational efficiency, managing costs, and mitigating supply chain risks. Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and execution of procurement plans. Source and evaluate supplier-based price, quality service, and delivery, Solicit quotations, prepare bid documents, and manage tendering processes.

Provides secretarial services to the Tender CommitteePrepare and maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and supporting documentsProvide regular procurement reports to the manager of procurementEnsures all procurement activities comply with internal policies, regulatory guidelines, and ethical standardsAssist in conducting due diligence and risk assessments on the supplierDrafts contract terms with suppliers in liaison with end users and the legal department to make the agreement legally bindingManage timely the procurement of goods, works, and servicesSupport user departments in defining technical specifications and requirementsPrepare and manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotes (RFQs) and assess supplier bidsEnsure procurement activities align with budgetary provisionsEnsure compliance with financial regulations and internal procurement policiesIdentify opportunities for cost savings within the procurement processNegotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain the best terms and pricingRequirementsMinimum Grade 12 School CertificateBachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration from a reputable universityProfessional certification in procurement (e.
