The mine produces semi-soft coking coal for export through the Port of Newcastle, for use in the steel manufacturing industry and thermal coal for power generation. Ashton employs approximately 330 people across our surface and underground operations.Job Tasks And ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Health, Safety & Training Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for developing, implementing, reviewing & overseeing safety and operational training for the Underground, Coal Handling Preparation Plant and Surface Operations.Maintain and manage the Learning Management System (Pegasus) and training requirements of all employeesMaintain the Maintenance of Competency for all statutory roles on siteIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement and ensure that training systems reflect current work practices, procedures, and processesComplete training needs analysis for all job roles and maintain operations training matrix to ensure employees receive appropriate training in collaboration with key stakeholdersDevelop and maintain the annual training day plans for siteCoordinate & deliver training in consultation with key stakeholdersDevelop onboarding plan and packages for new startersPartner with key stakeholders to design and deliver tailored training programsConduct safety & operational training assessments and provide feedback to operators on competency performanceMaintain accurate records of training attendance, completion, and certification to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirementsEvaluate the effectiveness of training programs and adjust as requiredSkills And ExperienceTo be considered for this role, you will possess the following:Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (essential)Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar rolePrevious experience operating underground equipment (essential)Sound knowledge of Pegasus portal and understanding of Contractor Management principlesStrong computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office primarily Excel, PowerPoint and WordHigh level attention to detail and data entry accuracyExceptional relationship building skills with ability to influence stakeholdersBenefitsYancoal provides a range of benefits to appeal to the diverse needs of our employees.
