Utility Analyst

Main Purpose / Objective of the PositionContinual focus on the optimisation of utility costs and recoveries by providing financial, legal and technical analysis and reporting of utility related costs and the continual training and development of the broader team across the utility spectrum.Objectives/ResponsibilitiesConduct financial, legal and technical analysis and reporting of utility costs and recoveries to ensure accurate monthly reporting.Proactively take ownership and drive the identifying and ensuring optimal operational efficiencies.Provide regular research relating to new opportunities in the field of utility management and providing training and development thereof to the team.Analyse and compile data that is essential to the reporting of ESG data to the client.Assist leasing team(s) with verification and resolution of utility related queries.Communicate, investigate and resolve queries via phone, email and/or meetings to be initiated.Track and maintain benefit tracking of optimization opportunities implementedExperience / Education:Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent qualification and/or training5+ years relevant experience in the utility fieldKnowledge of South African Municipal procedures and accounting processesDetailed knowledge and experience working with Municipal and Eskom tariffs and bylawsPC And Functional Skills RequiredMust have Computer literacy: MS Office - Excel Advanced, Outlook and WordCompetencies RequiredCommunication and InfluencingPlanning and OrganisingAnalytical ThinkingAttention to DetailsProblem solvingDecision makingFinancial and Business AcumenAttention to detail and AccuracyPerformance FocusTolerance for StressMajor Drivers Of Work VolumeNumber of accounts; Complexity of reporting needs.Interface / Relationships WithInternal: Utility Specialist, Controllers & Administrators; Council Liaison teamExternal: Contractors, Clients
