Job Description

We’re looking for a UX/UI Designer to support our client in shaping an intuitive, human-centered online portal.In this short term freelance assignment, you will help create a warm, accessible and seamless digital experience for both internal and external users. You don’t need deep technical expertise, but you should be comfortable working closely with developers and understanding how design choices translate into implementation.Role & ResponsibilitiesDesign user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and user flows that make the portal easy and pleasant to use.Translate user needs into clear, intuitive interactions while keeping accessibility standards top of mind.Collaborate closely with developers, product stakeholders and other creative profiles to align design and implementation.Conduct usability reviews, participate in user testing and refine designs based on insights.Ensure the interface feels welcoming, consistent and aligned with the brand values of our client.TasksCreate low- and high-fidelity prototypes using tools such as Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD.Analyse user behaviour and feedback to optimise flows and navigation.Support usability testing by interpreting results and suggesting improvements.Communicate design intent clearly to technical teams and understand basic front-end concepts (HTML/CSS).Maintain design standards and contribute to a coherent design system.Profile / Ideal CandidateProven experience as a UX Designer, Usability Expert or similar role, ideally on portals or customer-facing applications.Strong grounding in user-centered design principles and accessibility guidelines.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work with both creative and technical stakeholders.Curious, empathetic, and passionate about making digital experiences feel human.Keen eye for aesthetics paired with the ability to understand technical constraints.Experience with usability tools or analytics platforms is a plus.Language requirements: English and Dutch.Additional InformationFull-time assignment based in Leuven (hybrid: partly onsite, partly remote).Short term project for 1-2 months.You will join our client’s digital community and contribute to building tomorrow’s user experiences.
