Venture Debt Analyst

Our ClientOur client are a small but strong growth finance lender to European, venture backed, technology companies. To date, they have invested in over 70 exciting, high growth companies across Europe with an investment range between €2 million and €20 million. We are looking for a passionate, intelligent candidate to join as an Analyst. You will have the opportunity to work on new investments, gain investment expertise and play a role in investment decisions.Responsibilities as a Venture Debt AnalystResearching and speaking to potential portfolio companiesConducting initial screenings of investment opportunitiesWorking alongside the investment team to prepare memos to be presented to the group investment committee.This is a highly autonomous role and as a result, you must be highly driven and able to think critically under pressure.Cover specific European regions and research to identify high growth technology companies which fit within the investment thesisEngage with executives (founder, CEO, CFO) at these companiesConduct initial screening of opportunities through research and initial company contactFor opportunities you uncover, helping to underwrite investments and prepare memos to be presented to the investment committeeMaintain regular dialogue with companies fitting the companies investment thesisEngage in discussions with the investment team by evaluating the key merits and risk & mitigants of investing in the company supported by own researchHelp structure new debt investments for prospects which you have uncoveredEngage in regular research and reading to stay apprised about the state of the European venture ecosystem, economy, global financial markets, and general current eventsRequirements of a Venture Debt AnalystA relevant bachelor's degree from a reputable universityUp to 3 years experience within a role with a strong focus around financial analysisExcellent interpersonal skills with desire and ability to carry a conversation with company executivesStrong research skillsSelf-starter with a proven ability to work to the highest standards in both a team setting and individuallyHigh level of curiosity with an interest in technology companiesDecision making and problem solvingAbility to think logicallyWork in a team and collaborate effectivelyAmbition and enthusiasm within the roleVerbal and written communication skills with additional European languages encouraged but not essentialTransparency and honestyAttention to detail and multitaskingOrganisation and time managementMultitaskingTrustworthy and supportive of othersYou must have the right to work in the UK without the need of sponsorship.
