The CFO will have financial responsibilities for assigned Emory Healthcare operating unit(s) and directly report to the EHC CFO with a dotted line to divisional Presidents.ResponsibilitiesFINANCIAL LEADERSHIP:Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to the organization's executive team and key stakeholders. Oversee all aspects of financial management for assigned operating unit in partnership with VP of FP&A, Corporate Controller, and peer CFOs. Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure fiscal responsibility and compliance with regulatory requirements in partnership with the Corporate Controller. Performs all other management responsibilities as defined by the EHC CFO and CEO. Strategic PlanningCollaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and long-term goals. Evaluate and recommend strategic financial initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, revenue growth, and cost management. Works with appropriate operating unit team members regarding length of stay and related care coordination metrics. Works closely with the EHC Supply Chain and Procurement providing local support for the operating unit's materials management department. Responsible for review and approval of specific contracts in accordance with established policies and procedures. Works closely with the EHC VP of Revenue Cycle to monitor the revenue cycle activities of the Hospital, including patient registration, precertification, coding, clinical documentation integrity, billing, cash collections, and denials. Financial Reporting And AnalysisConduct thorough financial analysis to support decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement in partnership with Financial Planning and Analytics team. Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to the executive team, board of directors, and other stakeholders. Responsible for the direction and submission of financial data reports required by government and regulatory agencies, including state surveys and third-party payor cost and reimbursement reports. Risk ManagementIdentify and assess financial risks, developing and implementing strategies to mitigate potential issues. Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to proactively address financial challenges. Team LeadershipProvide effective leadership to the finance and accounting teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Mentor and develop finance professionals, ensuring a high level of competence and commitment. Compliance And AuditEnsure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate timely and successful audits. Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required. Master's degree highly preferred. CPA designation preferred. Proven experience (10+ years) in senior financial leadership roles within a healthcare or comparable industry. Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. Demonstrated success in implementing financial best practices and driving positive financial outcomes. In-depth knowledge of healthcare finance, reimbursement models, and regulatory requirements.
