Headquartered in Western Canada and continuing its nationally expansion, the organization is known for its disciplined growth, trusted partnerships, and innovative capital solutions.Position OverviewAs part of its national expansion, the firm is growing its CMHC-insured lending platform to provide long-term, stable financing for large-scale residential and mixed-use developments across Canada. With this growth, the firm is currently seeking a Vice President, CMHC to lead and expand their CMHC-insured multifamily lending platform. This senior leader will oversee all aspects of the CMHC program — including origination, underwriting, and capital markets execution — while driving business development, managing client relationships, and building a high-performing team.This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned leader to marry their deep CMHC expertise and entrepreneurial spirit to take full ownership of a fast-growing national platform and shape its trajectory. With significant capital backing, an established national footprint, and the autonomy to execute strategy, this role offers a high-profile leadership platform where a proven performer can drive measurable growth and establish themselves as a recognized market leader in CMHC-insured lending.Role ResponsibilitiesLead the growth and development of the CMHC-insured multifamily lending platform nationally.Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing CMHC team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.Oversee underwriting, structuring, and execution of CMHC-insured loans, ensuring compliance and alignment with business objectives.Develop and execute a national origination strategy through brokers and direct client channels.Establish and maintain relationships with capital providers to support platform funding.Optimize operational processes, reporting, and risk frameworks to ensure efficiency and scalability.Serve as the national subject matter expert on CMHC lending, representing the firm externally.Act as a senior ambassador for the firm, enhancing its brand and visibility in the market.Develop and maintain strong relationships with developers, brokers, investors, and institutional clients.Identify and secure new business opportunities, expanding the firm’s CMHC lending footprint.Support regional originators and business development teams in structuring, negotiating, and closing transactions.Attend industry events and conferences to promote the firm’s platform and grow strategic networks.Contribute to strategic planning and long-term business initiatives, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.Desired Qualifications15+ years of progressive experience in commercial mortgage finance, real estate lending, or structured finance, with a focus on CMHC-insured multifamily lending.Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related discipline required; Master’s degree an asset.Proven success in originating, structuring, and executing complex real estate transactions with deep knowledge of underwriting, credit risk, and real estate lending metrics.Strong network of developer, lender, and broker relationships across Canadian markets.Experience leading and developing high-performing teams and business units.Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build, grow, and drive a national platform.Embrace innovation, continuous improvement, and creative problem-solving.Commit to developing talent and fostering a people-first, high-performance culture.Please note that at present, legal eligibility to work in Canada is a prerequisite for this role.This open role is currently being featured by Thorek/Scott and Partners!
