Are you a strategic leader with a passion for driving growth through mergers and acquisitions?Valmet is seeking a visionary Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions to lead and execute our global M&A strategy. Together with our Business Area teams you will identify and pursue opportunities that accelerate our growth, strengthen our market position, and expand our capabilities. Your work will span the entire M&A lifecycle—from spotting promising targets and forging strategic partnerships, to negotiating complex deals and ensuring seamless integration. You’ll collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams, influencing decisions at the highest level and ensuring that every transaction aligns with Valmet’s values and long-term vision.The role can be based in any of the main Valmet locations in Europe and reports to the CFO.As VP Of M&A, You WillLead the development and execution of Valmet’s M&A strategy aligned with our business goals.Identify and evaluate acquisition targets, strategic partnerships, and divestiture opportunities.Lead the transaction process and negotiations in collaboration with legal, financial, and operational teams.Lead due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, pricing and deal structuring.Present strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership.Oversee successful post-merger integration to realize the synergies and strategic objectives.Monitor market trends and maintain strong relationships with investment banks, private equity firms, and external advisors.What You BringExpertise: Strong background in M&A transactions with expertise in business case development, financial modeling, valuation, negotiations and deal structuring. Industrial transaction exposure is seen as an additional merit.Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex transactions.Influence: Skilled in stakeholder negotiation and presenting to senior leadership.Mindset: making things happen, innovative and agile.ExperienceAdvanced degree in Finance, Business, or related field.10+ years of experience in M&A, with broad exposure to various aspects of international transactions and at least 5 years in a management role.Experience in investment banking or similarly broad M&A roles within international companies is considered a plus.We offerAt Valmet, you’ll join a culture built on excellence, psychological safety, and collaboration.
