Vice President of Land Acquisition

Morrow & Associates has been retained to identify a Vice President of Land Acquisition to be based in the Raleigh-Durham area. This role will lead the strategic planning and execution of land acquisition activities with a specific focus on multifamily development. Our client is a diversified real estate developer and operator with a long-standing presence across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast, spanning multifamily development, and master-planned community creation.Reporting to the COO, this executive plays a key role in the company’s continued growth and long-term pipeline strategy. You are a true player-coach—identifying and evaluating land opportunities, negotiating, and securing purchase agreements, and leading an experienced team of Land Acquisition Managers who support multifamily, master-planned communities, and finished-lot acquisitions across the region.Key Responsibilities:• Source and secure land for multifamily development• Lead and mentor Land Acquisition Managers across multiple markets• Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, brokers, and municipal officials• Direct feasibility analysis, zoning strategy, and entitlement efforts• Prepare and present acquisition proposals to senior leadership• Drive corporate land goals and multi-market growth strategyQualifications:• 10+ years of multifamily and/or residential land acquisition experience• Strong expertise in zoning, land planning, and entitlements• Proven leadership experience in land or development teams• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills• Regional experience in the Southeast and/or Mid-Atlantic preferred
