Vice President, Technology - Adelaide based (reporting to our CFO) The Vice President, Technology plays a pivotal role in Avance Clinical's ongoing success and is responsible for leading and managing the IT function & the AI function.We’re Avance Clinical a Contract Research Organisation. We offer specialised services supporting drug development for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. We have a rich history in this area with our founding roots dating back to the 1980’s. We’ve grown every year since 2019 & have doubled in size over the last 2.5 years.With around 400 employees and offices in Australia, US, India, Taiwan & South Korea we appreciate that our people are key to the success of our business, so have fostered an exceptional, employee centric, culture with supportive teams and excellent career progression.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, execute and maintain a comprehensive technology roadmap that aligns with the company's strategic goals, business objectives, and long-range plans.Serve as the principal technology advisor to the executive leadership team and the Board of Directors, translating complex technical concepts into business-focused solutions and strategies.Champion a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across all technology functions.Evaluate and capitalize on emerging technologies and methodologies (AI/ML, cloud, data analytics, CSA) to enhance service offerings, improve operational efficiency, and create new revenue streams.Oversee technology-related M&A activities, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration.Stay current and up to date on the latest technology, innovation and methodologies.Participate in business strategy sessions, empowering business leaders to embrace the role that Technology plays in growing the business in a safe, secure and profitable way.Approve and manage the Technology budget, collaborating closely with the Finance team to ensure appropriate spending and adherence to targets.Approving all technology related projects, ensuring appropriate ROI due diligence has been executed.Project Managing high value and/or complex Technology projects.Partnering with Senior Leadership and business innovators to drive waste cutting, revenue generating initiatives.Qualifications, Skills And ExperienceAdvanced degree (e.g., MBA, PhD) in Information Technology or related discipline.Direct experience building and leading an AI/ML or Data Science function.Proven track record of successfully implementing innovative technologies that resulted in measurable business impact within the clinical research industry.Experience with global operations and managing geographically distributed teams.Familiarity with modern cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SaaS platforms common in the CRO industry.Key CompetenciesStrategic Vision: Ability to see the "big picture" and anticipate future technology needs, with a firm grasp of ROI.Executive Presence: Confident, articulate, and able to inspire trust and lead change.Regulatory Acumen: Innate understanding of the compliance landscape and its impact on technology.Innovation Mindset: A passion for exploring new technologies and applying them to solve real-world problems.Collaborative Leadership: Builds strong relationships across all business functions to achieve common goals To applySubmit your CV along with a cover letter outlining your skills and experienceYou MUST have full Australian working rights to be considered for this rolewww.avancecro.com VP / Information Technology / IT / AI / Adelaide / Clinical Trials
