Video Producer/Editor

The National is seeking an experienced Video Producer/Editor to join our multimedia newsroom in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have at least seven years’ experience in creative video production, from filming with DSLR cameras to crafting dynamic, visually engaging edits. Proven ability to produce compelling visual stories for both features and long-form documentaries is essential. You should be able to generate imaginative story ideas, develop strong visual narratives, and transform them into captivating videos with well-written, eye-catching scripts in flawless English. Exceptional editing skills and the ability to bring stories to life through structure, pacing, and visual storytelling are key elements of the role. A solid understanding of Middle East politics and society is required, while Arabic language skills are considered an asset. We’re looking for someone who can effectively manage complex shoots and on-the-ground situations, demonstrating strong coordination skills, professionalism, and the ability to handle diverse environments and contributors with confidence and tact in a fast-paced newsroom setting. The role requires close collaboration with other departments to deliver seamless, high-quality video output. Experience in creative editing and cinematic shooting techniques, as well as familiarity with gimbal operation, are strong advantages.
