Who We AreBy joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.This purposeful project will not only give you the opportunity to have an impact on one of the key topics within the European Union, it will also offer you various professional opportunities, let you experience a collaborative environment, using cutting-edge technologies and experiencing diversity in your everyday professional life.What You'll Be DoingLeading a team of Technical Subject Matter Experts in the design, implementation, and support of virtualization and containerization technologies.Ensuring the performance, scalability, and security of virtualized infrastructure across the organization. Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of virtualization specialists, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with strategic IT goals.Oversee the deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of virtualization technologies, including but not limited to: VMware ESXi, VMware NSX, VMware vSphere Metro Storage Cluster, Micro-SegmentationManage and maintain enterprise storage infrastructure, including Brocade SAN Switches, Hitachi Vantara storage solutionsLead the adoption and operationalization of container technologies such as: Docker, KubernetesEnsure high availability, performance tuning, and capacity planning of virtualized and containerized environments.Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards across all virtualization platforms.Work closely with infrastructure, application, and security teams to deliver integrated solutions and provide expert-level support for escalated issues.What You'll Bring AlongBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Minimum 10 years of experience in virtualization and infrastructure management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.Deep knowledge of VMware technologies (ESXi, NSX, vSphere, vSAN).Experience with enterprise storage systems (Hitachi, Brocade SAN).Familiarity with containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VMware NSX certifications.Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent.Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.Excellent command of both spoken and written English (any other European language would be a plus).
