Learn more.The Stage Operator, Volume Capture partners with Director, Applied Innovations supervisor to identify technical requirements for virtual production projects and volumetric capture shoots including in-camera VFX on LED stages and volumetric capture.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and validate capture data quality standards during VC shoots, flagging issues as neededTrack camera inventory and maintenance statusTest and QC Volume capture systems following established workflowsAssist in assembling and modifying the physical VolumePrepare the stage for client, production, and processing requirementsEnsure equipment upkeep and correct setup, calibration, and routing of video signalsPerform Lidar VC stage calibrations and integrate them into the processing pipelinePerform camera tracking and calibrations via Motive and Optitrak and integrate into the processing pipelineEnsure shoot-derived data and reference materials are stored correctly, and meet quality standards before handover to software, editorial, and research teamsCommunicate effectively with the team and proactively report concerns to the relevant teamQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Film, Computer Science, or relevant areaMinimum three (3) years of experience in Motion Capture projects, technology and VFXComfortable utilizing a mix of technologies, including but not limited to lidar, motion capture, LED walls, VR, photogrammetryMust be able to execute technically difficult work and maintain a productive attitude under the pressure of a live action production environmentAdvanced knowledge of on-set digital acquisition hardwareKnowledge of real time rendering and Unreal EngineAdvanced knowledge of still photography, film, and video productionAdvanced knowledge of practical lighting on film stagesAdvanced knowledge of camera tracking and operating systemsProgramming skills in Python & or C++ is a plusCreative technical problem solver, able to improvise quick fix solutions and tools if necessary in time sensitive pressure situationsMinimum three (3) years of experience in Motion Capture projects, technology and VFXAbility to travel to onset locations globallyAbout UsEyeline is a global creative studio partnering with storytellers to turn their ambitions into stunning reality.
