As a reputable channel available on StarTimes Channel 149, Housing TV Africa provides up-to-date information, insights, and analysis in the housing and real estate industry.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role located in Abuja for a Web and Software Developer. The Web and Software Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the company’s web platforms, digital tools, and software systems to enhance user experience, improve operational efficiency, and support the organization’s digital transformation goals.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both front-end and back-end development, system integration, database management, and API design. They should be a creative problem solver with a passion for clean, efficient code and a commitment to delivering scalable, high-performing digital solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain responsive, user-friendly websites and web applications for Housing TV Africa.Develop and manage custom software tools and platforms to support internal operations and external engagement.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (digital marketing, IT, content, and production) to translate business needs into technical solutions.Implement robust front-end interfaces using modern frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js, or Angular).Build and maintain back-end systems, APIs, and databases using technologies such as Node.js, PHP, Python, or similar.Optimize website performance, accessibility, and security across all devices and browsers.Ensure all digital products align with brand identity, usability standards, and SEO best practices.Manage website content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or custom-built platforms.Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software and website issues promptly.Integrate third-party tools and APIs (e.g., analytics, advertising, CRM, and automation systems).Collaborate with designers to create visually appealing and intuitive digital interfaces.Implement version control systems (e.g., Git) and maintain proper documentation for all projects.Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance digital infrastructure.Qualifications and RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.4–8+ years of professional experience in web and software development.Proven experience with both front-end and back-end development.Strong knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, PHP, Python, or Java.Experience with frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js, Laravel, Django, or Express.js.Proficiency in database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.Experience managing hosting environments, including database administration and scaling applications.Familiarity with DevOps practices, RESTful APIs, and version control (Git/GitHub).Knowledge of WordPress and custom CMS development is an advantage.Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Core CompetenciesFull-Stack Development ExpertiseProblem Solving and InnovationCollaboration and TeamworkTechnical Documentation and MaintenanceUI/UX Design AwarenessSecurity and Performance OptimizationContinuous Learning and AdaptabilityMust be based in Abuja.
