As a global technology and engineering leader, we provide solutions for customers in industrial and municipal markets.Job Overview: The Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication of gates, frames, and structural components used in water control systems. This includes welding a variety of materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. The Welder must be able to read blueprints, interpret welding symbols, and ensure all work meets quality, safety, and dimensional specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and experienced in industrial metal fabrication.Key Responsibilities:Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and cast-iron componentsRead and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to determine welding requirementsFabricate gate structures, parts, and assemblies according to technical specifications and tolerancesGrind, cut, or clean metal parts as needed to prepare for weldingInspect finished welds for structural integrity, dimensional accuracy, and appearanceUse measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, squares) to verify part dimensionsPerform weld repairs as required to correct defects or inconsistenciesOperate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in a safe and efficient mannerMaintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standardsFollow company safety procedures and always wear appropriate PPEAssist with material handling and movement of large, fabricated assemblies using cranes or forkliftsQualifications:High school diploma or GED2+ years of experience in industrial welding and metal fabricationProficient in MIG and Stick welding; TIG welding experience preferredAbility to weld various materials, including stainless steel and cast ironFamiliarity with reading blueprints and welding symbolsStrong understanding of welding safety practices and proceduresAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environmentPreferred:Formal welding training or certification from a technical school or trade programAWS or other welding certifications (or ability to pass weld tests on-site)Experience working in water control equipment or heavy steel fabricationExperience with rigging and or crane operation desired.
