DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIESCoordinate with Technical Manager prior to submit WPS/PQRCoordinate with other division/department for material, machine location, and schedule for PQR qualification/welder test/welding operator testEnsure the parameter use for PQR qualification/welder test/welding operator test is not in violation with approved pWPS or WPSPrepare approved MTC (material, wire, gas), pWPS, run sheet, NDT request prior to qualification and review the results to meet the Code or specification requirements.Report the activities by updating action registerCoordinate the qualification plan schedule within project scheduleCoordinate the qualification needs with Welding Supervisor/Production Supervisor prior to machine and manpower allocation.Coordinate with NDT coordinator prior to conduct the NDT before and after qualificationProvides any TQ on welding related activities for project scope and/or specification prior to submitting WPS/PQRCoordinate with Technical Manager prior to submit WPS/PQR and provides WPS/PQR in accordance with project specification through Third Party and Clients CertificationResolve welding issues on project scope with respective project management and clientsUpdating welder/welding operator certificatesReply any client's comment regarding to WPS/PQR or welder performanceShould be able to support standard product and special customer or internal project welding activities.Give guidance and supervise Asst Welding Engineer, in absence of senior welding engineer.Comply with Company's Health, Safety and Environment Policy. Wear all PPE as directed.A Welding Engineer is accountable to ensure that the following WPS/PQR and welder /operator qualification technically comply with relevant codes, standards and/or customer specification. Welding Engineer is also accountable to ensure that the inputs or comments from the customer or requester is well applied during qualification, check and verify that the output of qualifications procedure and/or performance are technically comply with relevant codes, standards and/or customer specification.Is authorized to review, verify, check and issue Company WPS/WPSIs authorized to review, verify, check and issue Company Visual, Elcometer thickness and NDT report of qualifications.Should be able to support standard product and special customer or internal project specifications.Accountable for all the works done by him and all the inspection performed by the inspectors working under his command.Working within the company approved delegation of authority, budgets, and tasks assigned by superior.ACADEMIC BACKGROUNDMinimum: Mechanical/Metallurgical/Material/Electrical of Engineering Bachelor DegreeKNOWLEDGE/COURSESCertified Welding Engineer IIW or CSWIP 3.1 or CSWIP 3.2 Senior Welding InspectorFamiliarity or proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Presentation) and Adobe editor.Fluent/understand organization related tools and process.Shall possess a thorough working knowledge of welding technology and related applicationsShall be able to use a Microsoft Office and/or Outlook to do engineering calculations using commercial and proprietary programs, and to perform other office functionsKnowledge to understand and apply client specifications and/or codes applied.Digital application understanding and operating abilityREQUIRED TECHNICAL COMPETENCE (SKILLS):Familiar with NDT procedure, welding technology, ASME IX and ASME B 31.3 codes and other related codesGood communication ability and interpersonal skill.Fluent in business English communication in both written and spoken.Quick learner, good analytical skill, and complex problem-solving ability..Excellent problem solving and time management skills.Good team working.Desirable: Minimum 2 years of experience on welding inspections or qualifications has preferential.
