Welding Instructor Part-time (Economic Development)

Columbus Technical College is seeking an individual to serve as a part-time Welding & Joining Instructor in our Economic Development Division. This individual will be responsible for preparation of lesson plans for classroom and lab hands on lab instruction. This position also requires evaluation of student progress in attaining goals and objectives; attend staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences, and ensure all safety and security requirements are met in training. This is a part-time/exempt position. This position will require teaching students from diverse backgrounds, to include supervised inmates from local prison(s), throughout our service delivery area. ResponsibilitiesInstruct students in welding and joining technology skill areasFollow state standards in developing program and course outlines, goals and objectivesEvaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectivesMeet with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the studentsEnsure safety and security requirements are met in the training areasMaintain program certification requirements, as appropriateOther job-related duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:A technical certificate of credit, diploma, or associate degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.-OR-Minimum of 3 -5 years’ work experience in the welding fieldBlueprint Reading Capabilities*Note: Experience may substitute for education on a year-by-year basis*Preferred Qualifications (In Addition To Minimum Qualifications)American Welding Society CertificationWork experience in pipe weldingPost secondary-level teaching experience; including online, lecture, hybrid, and web-enhancedAbility to effectively relate to diverse personalities, maintain good working relationships with students and staff, strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and work ethicProficiency using Microsoft SuiteDemonstrate and display strong written and oral communication, organization, and interpersonal skillsSalary/Benefits:Pay rate is commensurate with education and experience, no benefits.Application DeadlineApplications are accepted until filled.
