For our Cameroon office, we are looking for a dynamic and committed Planning, Monitoring, Learning & Evaluation Officer**. **Reports to: Cocoa and Agriculture LeadLocation: YokadoumaDuration: two (02) years renewableMission of the DepartmentWWF is committed to the strategy of promoting and developing sustainable cocoa in the landscapes where WWF operates.

The development of sustainable cocoa means the production and marketing of cocoa using agroforestry practices and other good agricultural practices as well as fair marketing conditions in the national and international markets. It also involves the development of non-timber forest products (NTFPs), all of which contribute to cocoa production under conditions that are ecologically respectful of the environment and biodiversity.

It is against this backdrop that, with funding from Barry Callebaut, the REDUCING POVERTY AND NATURE LOSS THROUGH SUSTAINABLE ECONOMICSOPPORTUNITIES (RESPONSE) program has been developed and implemented to support forest and biodiversity conservation by improving the well-being of local people, particularly the indigenous populations in the target landscapes of the Yokadouma district. In addition to this program, the Mobilizing Money For Climate (MoMo4C) project is also being implemented in the same area.

This program aims to increase and facilitate the commitment of producers and local communities to combat deforestation and produce sustainable cocoa, while improving the living conditions of partner populations. This work will be carried out through cooperatives of cocoa producers and NTFP collectors, as well as community forests target groups. To implement this program, WWF Cameroon is looking for a Forestry and Hunting Engineer, specializing in Community Forestry. He/she will be responsible for implementing activities to support and supervise Community Forests and activities to prevent and control deforestation, as part of the RESPONSE project, based in Yokadouma.

Main dutiesThe incumbent of this position will be responsible for implementing activities to support and supervise Community Forests and activities to prevent and control deforestation, as part of the RESPONSE project, based in Yokadouma. Main tasks and responsibilitiesMain responsibilitiesResponsibilitiesUnder the technical supervision of the Field Project Coordinator based in Yokadouma and the General Coordination of the Cocoa and Agriculture Lead based in Yaoundé, the person will be mainly responsible for:

Monitoring, evaluation, indicators and data productionDefine program indicators and activity indicators by axis and objectives, based on the logical framework already establishedDesign and implement a weekly and monthly monitoring plan for the indicators.

Develop a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation mechanism, including data collection and analysis toolsDevelop a global and exhaustive database to generate all the project's information in terms of carrying out activities and monitoring resultsSet up a deforestation monitoring system based on satellite imagery such as Global Forest Watch, in collaboration with the Forest OfficerFacilitate the collection of information on the progress made by the project and transmit the data periodically to the Technical Project CoordinatorProvide regularly updated data to the Cocoa and Agriculture Lead to support technical and budgetary monitoring.

Support for operational implementation and coordinationCoordinate, in collaboration with the Technical Project Coordinator and the Cocoa and Agriculture Lead, the deployment of the action plan of the multi-stakeholder platform. Actively participate in planning meetings, performance reviews and the programming of project activitiesOrganize regular field visits to analyse progress, identify constraints and promote lessons learnedSupport managers in clarifying roles and responsibilities within the project teamContribute to the logistical, administrative and asset management of the project alongside the Technical Project CoordinatorSupport the Technical Project Coordinator in the administrative and asset management of the project.

Reporting, capitalisation and support for deliverablesSupport the preparation of quarterly and annual reports for the donor, in collaboration with the Technical Project Coordinator and the Cocoa and Agriculture LeadContribute to and support colleagues in the production of periodic reports, while ensuring the quality, consistency and relevance of contentRepresent the project at meetings with partners to present results and challenges.

Main tasksDesign, with the support of the IT, appropriate monitoring and evaluation software for the projectInsert the initial data for the entire project, in termsof activities and actions as well as implementation deadlinesCodify the activities by year and by objective in order to facilitate the collection and information analysisMonitor project activities in the field on a regular basis,Take part in the team's internal planning meetings and help team members to plan and organize themselves better in order to achieve objectives,Fill in the information database on a daily basis with the data collected and carry out appropriate analysesProduce and present summary tables to supervisors to guide decision-makingParticipate in team meetings and present an objective assessment of the project's progress and advise on any correctionsWork in consultation with WWF M&E officers in Yaoundé and other projects.

Attend planning and coordination meetings within the teamParticipate in certain meetings with donors in order to present the results, constraints and lessons learned from the projectContribute to the reports of other donors co-financing the landscape and to ensure overall coordination of the monitoring of indicators for the area. ProfileQualifications RequiredA degree in economics (GCE A/L + 4 (minimum)), agro-economics, social sciences or equivalent, with proven experience in project monitoring and evaluationAt least 5 years' experience in a similar positionProven experience in the use of GIS (QGIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth Engine). Experience in remote sensing applied to deforestation (Sentinel, GLAD, GFW data).

Experience in database management for project monitoring. Experience in the rural sector (agriculture or agroforestry) would be an asset.
