As a member of the training and capacity building team, the Training and Capacity Building Manager (TCBM) is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing training, technical assistance, and capacity-building activities to support program implementation, with a particular focus on ending homelessness and ensuring housing stability for youth and young adults.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage the design, coordination, and implementation of programmatic activitiesThe Training & Capacity-Building Manager will develop and customize events in response to constituent needs, including identifying topics and ideas for specific sessions, developing training content and materials, determining the audience and invitees, presenting, training, and facilitation, and providing onsite and web-based logistical support. They will build and maintain relationships with constituents to identify needs, resources, and developments in the youth and family services field. They will also partner on projects and initiatives across Youth Collaboratory focus areas, supporting a comprehensive, strategic, and consistent approach to capacity-building technical assistance.
Coordinate subject matter expert consultantsContracting and coordinating with subject matter expert consultants, including Youth and Young Adult (YYA) consultants. This includes providing direct support for YYA consultants, ensuring that operational and programmatic needs are met, and facilitating cross-system opportunities. Manage activities to meet contract obligationsManage training and capacity-building activities to meet private and federal contract obligations that ensure the program is implemented in compliance with requirements. The TCBM will contribute to reports to funders and grant proposals as requested.
Work with organizations and communities to create youth-centered services and supportsProvide individualized direct training and capacity-building services to organizations and communities to ensure youth and young adults have access to a range of housing and support options that reflect their strengths and needs, and leverage appropriate community resources and supports. Use Program Expertise in Youth Housing Services to Propel Focus AreaThe TCBM will have experience in services that promote housing stability and prevent homelessness, and will use this experience to inform how training and capacity-building services are designed and delivered.

Strong relationship-building skills with demonstrated success working with various partners and fostering collective leadership within and across collaborators. Ability to travel 25% of the time to participate in TTA and/or to attend meetings, conferences, and events. ExperienceMinimum of five years of professional experience in a social service, intermediary, or similar nonprofit organization.
Experience in HUD’s Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program and/or Youth Homelessness Systems Improvement projects is required; other experience in youth housing and homelessness services is a plus. Experience working in partnership with youth and young adults is strongly preferred. Experience in design and delivery of training, technical assistance, and/or consultation for non-profit staff, including experience in facilitating groups and meetings. Statewide, regional, or national experience in the youth services field is a plus. Experience in preparing resources, practice tools, and/or research documents that encompass proven and emerging best practice techniques and approaches.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
