Zscaler Administrator

Executive Operations is seeking a Zscaler Administrator to manage, monitor, and optimize secure internet and cloud access through Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) platforms. This position requires strong expertise in Zscaler configuration, identity integrations (Azure AD, Okta), and network troubleshooting.  This is a fully remote position, aligned with U.S. Central Time Zone business hours. Key Responsibilities • Manage and administer Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) environments across enterprise users and applications. • Configure and maintain access policies, SSL inspection, firewall rules, DLP policies, and URL filtering. • Integrate Zscaler with Active Directory, Azure AD, Okta, and IdP solutions for secure authentication and identity management. • Monitor traffic, performance, and security logs to ensure compliance and optimize user experience. • Troubleshoot connectivity issues, authentication failures, and latency across branch offices, remote users, and cloud workloads. • Collaborate with SOC analysts to investigate and respond to Zscaler alerts or security incidents. • Implement Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) principles through ZPA to secure internal applications. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Zscaler features, configurations, and best practices for policy tuning and version updates. • Generate dashboards and reports on usage, threat detection, and performance metrics for management review. • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for escalations, upgrades, and deployment improvements. • Support security compliance initiatives (ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2) through proper documentation and change tracking. • Develop runbooks, configuration guides, and SOPs to ensure operational consistency. Requirements Essential Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • 3–5 years of experience in network security administration or cloud access management. • Proven hands-on experience managing ZIA and ZPA platforms in enterprise environments. • Understanding of proxy, DNS, SSL inspection, GRE/IPSec tunnels, and VPN technologies. • Experience with Active Directory, SAML, and identity integrations. • Strong grasp of Zero Trust principles and cloud-based security architectures. • Proficiency in troubleshooting Layer 3–7 network and security issues. • Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications • Zscaler Certified Cloud Administrator (ZCCA-IA / ZCCA-PA) or higher certifications. • Familiarity with Palo Alto, Cisco, or Fortinet network security platforms. • Experience with automation or scripting (Python, PowerShell) for operational efficiency. • Exposure to SIEM, SOAR, and endpoint protection tools for integrated monitoring. • Knowledge of VPN migration to ZTNA architectures and hybrid cloud security.
