The EAC, according to its latest announcement, informs the public about new incidents of scam e-mails being sent to unsuspecting consumers. These messages falsely claim that their bill is now available electronically and further invite consumers to make payment through a malicious link. It is emphasized that these messages do not come from the EAC and constitute an attempt at phishing. The EAC reminds the public to pay particular attention to emails/SMS messages that include links or attachments, as these may redirect to misleading or malicious websites, regardless of what it initially appears.
