Royal Christmas service undergoes key change after King’s quiet orders

The royal family is in the final stretch of their duties for the year as the holiday season edges closer. The Palace has been preparing for the annual Christmas gathering after the turmoil faced this year. The annual Christmas Walk is the much-awaited event for royal fans as the members of the royal family reunite for the special occasion. This year holds major significance since it will be the first one after Andrew and Sarah Ferguson were officially ousted as a result of their controversies. King Charles will be marking the annual service with his family at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham as per tradition but there have been some major changes made at the behest of his quiet orders. The 16th century church where the service takes place every year had underwent significant restoration in the past. This time around, the king had addressed some major issues that existed last year but have been fixed ahead of the main event, according to Hello! magazine. The report confirmed that the Norfolk estate were renovated which rounded up to £7000 sum. The “threadbare” red carpets have been replaced after the mosaic flooring was cleaned. The clock on the church tower is changed along with the parish room. Moreover, the squeaky floorboards are also repaired. According to a local, the squeaking was “very irritating” and the “solemn mood was ruined” when someone entered. The church is a short walk from the royal family’s home at Sandringham. Apart from the Christmas services, the royal children are traditionally christened here. The children general begin attending services at the age of 4 or 5.
