Foolish take INSPIRON Wealth Advisors has been gaining attention due to its strong performance. Over the past five years, its portfolio holdings have soared 146%, from $291 million in the third quarter of 2020 to $715 million when the third quarter of 2025 ended. The benchmark S&P 500 index rose by 99% over the same time frame. As its name implies, the iShares AAA CLO Active ETF invests in AAA-rated collateralized loan obligations. Rare update on Michael Schumacher: F1 star able to communicate with family once more

Global Desk Racing legend Michael Schumacher currently depends on his eyes to communicate, almost 12 years following the skiing accident that changed his life forever. The Formula 1 icon has remained entirely out of the spotlight since sustaining a severe brain trauma in the French Alps in December 2013, with his wife Corinna handling his ongoing care.Primarily , there was hope for a possible recovery for the seven-time F1 champion. The news comes as Max Verstappen is scheduled to lose another major Red Bull ally in regard to an F1 rival poach. Nevertheless, fans have eventually accepted the devastating reality that Schumacher will never make a comeback. It's believed that “Schumi” cannot speak as a result of his injuries, states the Express. However, this does not mean he is completely unable to communicate using alternative techniques.Rare Visits Visitors to the Schumacher family home have become exceedingly rare in these years after his accident. But, small information in regard to the former racer and his current condition often surface. Elisabetta Gregoraci, former spouse of ex-Benetton boss Flavio Briatore, said to Spanish outlets in 2020: "Michael doesn't speak, he communicates with his eyes. While reports differ, it is believed he attended the event at the family villa in Mallorca. German media stated that guests had to hand over the mobile phones to restrict photographs of Schumacher. The measures seems to have been effective, as no photos of the former Ferrari superstar have come out in the year since.Ongoing CareMost of Schumacher’s care has happened at the family residence on Lake Geneva, Switzerland, though he has also spent considerable time at the Mallorca property purchased in 2017. Corinna finalized the $27 million acquisition from Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. Early rumors indicated that the family might relocate permanently to Mallorca, but those reports were later disproved.Despite withdrawing from public attention, Schumacher remains praised by fans and colleagues. Jean Todt, his former Ferrari team manager, conveyed a heartfelt reflection in 2023: "Michael is here, so I don't miss him. [But he] is simply not the Michael he used to be. Has NASA's Juno spacecraft reached the end of its mission orbiting Jupiter?
Technology

Has NASA's Juno spacecraft reached the end of its mission orbiting Jupiter?

After nearly 10 years, NASA’s Jupiter explorer Juno is likely no longer operating, with its latest mission extension ending during the ongoing U.S. government shutdown. The Juno spacecraft launched from Florida in 2011, arriving at the Jovian system in 2016 and completing its first orbit. This spacecraft was built like a tank with titanium to withstand the intense radiation from Jupiter. The design also required unique engineering to provide power so far from the Sun with three solar planes spanning nearly 30 feet each. Juno’s primary mission was completed in 2021 and then extended through Sept. 30 with 42 additional orbits of the Jovian system, including flybys of moons Ganymede, Europa and Io. The government shutdown started on Oct. 1, and with an ongoing stalemate, NASA has been unable to provide an update on Juno. Under the proposed White House budget, the Juno mission was among dozens of science missions on the chopping block if the space agency’s budget is slashed by 47%. In a statement from Sept. 17, a NASA spokesperson said, "Juno’s mission was extended to September of 2025. This is the most recent update. Regarding the future of the mission, NASA will abide by the law." If this is truly the end for Juno, the mission provided more than 9 years of incredible data of the weather beneath the Jovian clouds and critical information about its moons, helping to set up NASA’s mission launched in 2024 to Jupiter’s moon Europa and the European Space Agency’s Jupiter ICy moons Explorer (JUICE) mission. JunoCam, the primary camera on Juno, was a citizen science win, allowing people around the world to help hone in on target areas to photograph. As JunoCam imagery was uploaded, amateur astronomers and space fans could download and process images, like this incredible image of lightning above Jupiter. Most recently, Juno came within 930 miles of the moon Io, imaging its poles for the first time and revealing details of the volcanic surface below, including discovering a new volcano. Ultimately, the radiation from Jupiter did wear on the spacecraft, and it began to show in images. The images showed signs of radiation damage by orbit 47, and by orbit 53, nearly all the images were corrupted, NASA said. In 2023, the team used an experimental technique called annealing to heat parts of the spacecraft before slowly cooling them. "After orbit 55, our images were full of streaks and noise," said JunoCam instrument lead Michael Ravine of Malin Space Science Systems. "We tried different schemes for processing the images to improve the quality, but nothing worked. With the close encounter of Io bearing down on us in a few weeks, it was Hail Mary time: The only thing left we hadn’t tried was to crank JunoCam’s heater all the way up and see if more extreme annealing would save us." The experiment worked for flybys of Io in December 2023, but radiation impacts on the JunoCam began reappearing again around orbit 74. As of September, Juno was on orbit 76 of the Jovian system. Unlike the dramatic end of other NASA planetary missions like Cassini, which plunged into Saturn at the end of its mission, Juno will degrade naturally, eventually being consumed by Jupiter’s atmosphere.

Donald Trump designates Antifa as 'terrorist organization' but is it responsible for Charlie Kirk assassination

APCharlie Kirk and Donald Trump. U.S. President Donald Trump plans to attend a White House roundtable on Wednesday to discuss the anti-fascist antifa movement, which he has called a domestic "terrorist organization" sponsoring left-wing political violence. Here is some background on antifa, and why it might be difficult for the Trump administration to follow through on its threats to crack down on the movement's sympathizers.Donald Trump's Stern Action Against AntifaTrump vowed to take action against left-wing groups he accuses of fomenting violence after the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk in September. There is no public evidence tying antifa to Kirk's assassination. The motive of the accused gunman, Tyler Robinson, remains under investigation.Still, Trump has described antifa as a "sick, dangerous, radical left disaster" and has vowed to go after its sources of funding.Live EventsWhat is Antifa? Why is there controversy surrounding it?Antifa (short for "anti-fascist") is not an organized political group in the traditional sense. It is a decentralized movement without a clear structure, command hierarchy or leader, according to a 2020 Congressional Research Service report. Some experts on political extremism, along with former FBI director Christopher Wray, have argued that antifa is better viewed as an anti-fascist, anti-white supremacy ideology than a cohesive entity. As such its adherents would enjoy First Amendment free speech protection under the U.S. Constitution.According to U.S. law enforcement, there has never been a terrorist incident in the United States connected to antifa. Trump first sought to designate the movement as a domestic terror organization during the George Floyd protests in 2020. The most notorious episode involving the movement occurred in Portland, Oregon, in August 2020, when Michael Reinoehl, a self-identified antifa supporter, shot and killed Aaron “Jay” Danielson, a member of the far-right group Patriot Prayer. Reinoehl was killed by federal and local law enforcement officers during an attempt to arrest him.More recently, a San Diego jury found two men guilty of conspiracy to riot earlier this year in a case that stemmed from street protests in 2021. Prosecutors labeled the men as members of antifa.FAQsQ1. What is Antifa?A1. Antifa stands short for "anti-fascist".Q2. Who is President of USA?A2. Man Embraces AI at Work, Gets Rewarded by Boss Replacing Him With It

Man Embraces AI at Work, Gets Rewarded by Boss Replacing Him With It

When your boss insists you to start using AI for your job, do you cave to their demands, or resist using the tech? The reality is that if you’re in a position where you have to ask, you may be doomed either way. We suggest you learn from the experience of Kevin Cantera, a man from Las Cruces, New Mexico, who “willingly embraced AI for work” after he and his colleagues were encouraged to use ChatGPT, according to a new entry in the Washington Post’s work advice column. His reward for going along with those demands, after being a faithful servant for 17 years at the edutech company? Getting replaced by a large language model, along with a couple dozen of his coworkers. That’s, of course, after his boss reassured him that he wouldn’t be replaced with AI. Deepening the bitter irony, Cantera — a researcher and historian — had actually grown pretty fond of the AI help, telling WaPo that it “was an incredible tool for me as a writer.” He’d become somewhat of an AI whisperer, claiming he gained a mastery over putting in prompts that helped the AI generate accurate, non-hallucinated info, which he always made sure to review, edit, and rewrite, per WaPo. “I considered the LLM as a collaborator,” Cantera added. “My productivity was off the charts.” The LLM was a collaborator alright — a collaborator with his boss. Cantera is certainly not alone. Bosses the world over are firing their grunts and gleefully replacing them with unproven AI agents. Or they’re culling their workforces down to a skeleton crew, and forcing whoever survived the layoffs to pick up the slack with the help of AI tools. Many of them have openly gloated about it. But often, quickly trying to replace human know-how with constantly hallucinating tech blows up in the faces of the bosses who embraced it, sending them scrambling to rehire humans. Plus, a bevy of research is being published that pokes gaping holes in the tech’s promises of revolutionizing productivity, like one MIT study that found that an astonishing 95 percent of companies that integrated AI saw no meaningful growth in revenue, and another showing that it created a frustrating and mired workflow in which employees pass down shoddy AI “workslop” that ends up creating more work for their colleagues who need to fix the botched efforts. With dozens of his colleague now out of the picture, Cantera is wondering if there will even be anyone left to look over the “workslop” at his former employer. “I am sure they try to vet what they get from AI, but I also know that they let go of a good number of [subject-matter experts],” Cantera told WaPo. “It is absolutely terrifying to think they could be relying on the model’s output without any [quality assurance] or true subject-matter expert review.” But circling back to the original question, should you assent to or dissent from your boss’s demands to use AI? If they’re probably planning on replacing you anyway, you may as well go out on your own terms. More on AI: Top AI Industry Figures Secretly Hoping AI Will Wipe Out Humankind

L-shaped standing desks can be pricey, but there's still time to get this one for under $300

There are two types of people in this world: folks who need an L-shaped desk, and those who don't. I am absolutely on the side of reason, in that I've had an L-shaped desk for close to a decade now, and I would never go back to not having a corner in my workspace. For some reason, these slightly quirky worktops can set you back a small fortune compared to some of the other best gaming desks. While I was hunting down some last-minute Prime Day deals to recommend though, I stumbled across the desk I use every single day, and as luck would have it, it's in the discount aisle. I know, I know, who on earth buys a desk as a last-minute deal in a two-day sale? Call me crazy, but I feel I need to let the world know about how good this desk is for its current asking price of $279.99 at Amazon. Even if you can't make use of the discount on this desk before the sale ends, maybe it'll help just to know about it so you can plan ahead for Black Friday, when it might also get a discount. If you've been hunting for the perfect desk, I'd seriously consider this offer - not least because it's so much cheaper than when I wrote my review of the Fezibo Triple Motor L-Shaped Desk. Back then, in December of 2023, it was listed for a starting price of $599 - and that was before adding any of the bells and whistles this desk has as opt-ins. Admittedly, the one on offer here is a slightly different variant of the one I have. Instead of its upper shelf having downward-firing RGB lighting, it has some very handy drawer pockets, which may honestly be more of a selling point. Personally, I love the vibes that this desk's lighting creates, but I could absolutely make use of some cubby drawers to stow away some of my clutter. Ignoring the subtle differences, this desk has plenty of space on it, but its side panel isn't even its best part. One of the reasons I'm shocked to see it going for so cheap is that it's an electric standing desk that'll raise and lower to your desired height. For that kind of versatility from bigger brands, I'd expect to see a stubborn $500+ price tag. Where I think this desk stands apart, regardless of whether you get RGB lighting or drawer space, is its upper shelf surface. When I was measuring up my old desk, I felt like the Fezibo was going to mean a compromise of worktop depth, but I was wrong. The surface area on the lower level is plenty, but having a top shelf actually means I get even more space to stow stuff away underneath, and my monitors standing on the top shelf means they're more ergonomically aligned with my eyes - which is vital when I'm reviewing the best gaming chairs. With a second shelf, I can shift things around and avoid the clutter I had on my old one-floor desk. Of course, nothing is perfect, and I have to warn you that the assembly process of this desk was a total nightmare. It was maybe the most complicated bit of furniture I've ever assembled, and I moved house a lot as a kid; building furniture is like breathing to me. The very vague instructions combined with unclear diagrams did not help. Because there are a few different variants of this desk, the instructions don't cater to just one - Fezibo sent a manual that was written for all of the variants, so flicking through the pages to find my exact one in each step was a truly frustrating experience that led me down quite a few wrong paths. With that as a distant memory though, I've been using this desk for almost two years now, and I wouldn't trade it. This is an awesome desk for gaming and remote work. Would I prefer a slightly thicker wooden surface? Absolutely, the thinner veneer is a bit of a missed opportunity for a truly premium feel. But in terms of functionality, practicality, and looks, this is an amazing investment for your gaming setup. Big Brother’s Zelah handled Caroline’s offensive remarks impeccably – he should win

To Zelah’s credit, he stayed calm and composed (Picture: Vianney Le Caer/Shutterstock for Big Brother) Last night’s episode of Big Brother felt like watching a car crash. It all started with a game of spin-the-bottle-style truth or dare. When it landed on Zelah, who is a trans man, fellow housemate Caroline asked him: ‘If you had a c**k what would you do with it?’ Awkwardly laughing it off, Zelah responded by saying he would ‘helicopter’ it. Then when the bottle landed on Nancy, who identifies as pansexual, Caroline – who is ‘quite good friends’ with Nigel Farage – piped up again: ‘If you could shag anyone in this house… You’re on a desert island, there’s one person left. You might be able to make babies to form a new civilisation. Who would you shag?’ Nancy eventually responded that she was most attracted to Zelah, to which Caroline yelled: ‘She’s a girl!’ The reaction from the housemates said it all: hands over faces, audible groans – a collective ‘oh no’ moment destined for the cringe hall of fame. Caroline then quickly added: ‘But you haven’t got a willy, have you?’ To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Up Next Previous Page Next Page As a trans person, watching this whole interaction unfold was painful – not just because it was awkward, but because it was familiar. Many of us have been there: trapped in a conversation that starts with ‘I just want to understand’ and ends in pure absurdity. To Zelah’s credit, he stayed calm, composed, and far kinder than the situation deserved. Later, he explained how difficult it was to go through, and I don’t blame him. Being misgendered feels like a punch to the gut – even for people who are very self-assured and confident in who they are. I want this to be a teachable moment for Caroline (Picture: ITV) Like Zelah, I try to stay patient when people have genuine questions. For example, I did a talk with over 350 students this week about being trans. They asked all sorts of questions – some more invasive than others such as what changing room I used, to whether or not I’d had surgery. But I felt like they genuinely listened and took on board what I was saying, especially about simply respecting people for who they are. There’s a world of difference between wanting to understand and flat-out refusing to respect who someone is. That’s why I’ve got all the time in the world for open conversations – as long as they come from mutual respect and wanting to learn. As a trans person, watching this whole interaction unfold was painful (Picture: Ugla Stefanía Kristjönudóttir Jónsdóttir) In the aftermath of the Big Brother interaction, Caroline got a formal warning. To her credit, she apologised profusely and accepted it without question – she seems regretful, and that’s something. A sneak preview of tonight’s episode during yesterday’s Big Brother: Late and Live showed Zelah and Caroline hugging it out after he received an apology. So I’m glad there seems to be a resolution. But the interaction proves an awful reality for a lot of trans people, that our boundaries are often pushed further and further, until a deeply uncomfortable situation occurs. The reaction from the housemates said it all (Picture: ITV) And despite how ridiculous questions and conversations become, it seems like we are always expected to respond with the patience of a saint, because god forbid trans people get annoyed or angry. Of course, conflict makes good telly and sometimes conversations can really help people understand. But it’s always telling who pays the price for it. Unfortunately, Caroline’s blunder isn’t the only anti-LGBTQ+ controversy surrounding the show right now. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Up Next Previous Page Next Page Earlier this week, George thought mocking Sam – an openly queer person – and his mannerisms was somehow acceptable. Sam nailed it when he compared it to the homophobic bullying he faced at school because that’s exactly what it was. In the aftermath, George was given a formal warning for that incident, but has since been reportedly pulled from the house today over further ‘unacceptable language and behaviour’. To me, this feels long overdue. It’s unfortunate that both of these incidents happened and I’m glad that something was done to reprimand George. I want Zelah to win Big Brother (Picture: ITV) As for Caroline, I want this to be a teachable moment – not just for her, but for others like her, watching at home. It’s important to create space for people to make mistakes so they can grow and learn from it. But it only works if those people actually want to make amends and change their behaviour. Zelah has handled this situation impeccably and I couldn’t be more proud of him representing the trans community like he’s done. And I couldn’t think of anything better than him being crowned the winner of the show. Do you have a story you’d like to share? Get in touch by emailing Ross.Mccafferty@metro.co.uk. Supernatural drama fans branded ‘one of the best things on TV’ now streaming on Amazon Prime

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Up Next Previous Page Next Page A dark and seductive supernatural series that sunk its teeth into audiences on release is finally available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Interview with the Vampire, based on Anne Rice’s iconic 1976 novel, has been hailed by fans as ‘one of the best things on television.’ The show reimagines the story of Louis de Pointe du Lac – a man-turned-vampire – recounting his centuries-long, tumultuous relationship with his maker, Lestat de Lioncourt. Told through a modern-day interview, it jumps between 1910s New Orleans and the present day, exploring themes of love, immortality, and moral decay. Since its release, the drama has drawn widespread praise for its powerful performances and binge-worthy plot lines. One fan @Ashleymacias wrote: ‘This show honestly blew me away!’ The narrative is cleverly told through Louis’s perspective over centuries (Picture: BBC/AMC Network Entertainment) Bailey Bass has swapped out the blue avatar gear for her spell bounding role as Claudia (Picture: BBC/AMC) Critics have noted its ability to engage both longtime fans of gothic drama’s and newcomers (Picture: BBC/Larry Horricks/AMC Network Entertainment LLC) Another viewer, @Fabyorubachic, said: ‘I’m going to be honest – this might be one of the best things I’ve ever seen on television. The story completely seduced me, and I’m glad it did.’ The adaptation’s strength lies in its attention to detail and deep respect for Rice’s world, as well as the haunting visuals and incredible acting. ‘I’m so in love with this show!!!’ added @C.M.Nicole. ‘The actors and writers have a very clear understanding of the books and their characters, and it shows.’ Leading the cast is Jacob Anderson (best known from Game of Thrones) as Louis, whose emotional depth brings a human vulnerability to his immortal curse. Opposite him, Sam Reid delivers a magnetic performance as Lestat. Their on-screen chemistry has been described as electric, with fans praising how the series explores the pair’s relationship more openly than ever before. The adaptation retains the infamous dark humour of Rice’s novels (Picture: BBC/AMC) Even those who don’t usually watch fantasy or horror have found themselves spellbound. ‘I don’t watch a ton of TV,’ admitted @RedTopaz. ‘My short attention span usually taps out before I can make it through a season, but I am hooked on IWtV.’ That reaction captures what has made the show such a hit – it’s not just a show for supernatural lovers, it really has got everyone hooked. The series’s production design has also won praise, from its lush New Orleans sets to its hauntingly elegant costumes. ‘Brilliant show – truly out of this world and enjoyable to watch,’ said @KestaWalker. After premiering in the U.S. on AMC, the show’s arrival on Amazon Prime means UK audiences can finally see what the fuss is about. Sam Reid’s performance has been praised by critics again and again (Picture: BBC/Larry Horricks/AMC Network Entertainment LLC) Its second season, continuing Louis and Lestat’s journey across Europe, has only intensified the obsession. Critics have called it darker, deeper, and even more visually stunning than before. For long-time fans of Anne Rice, it’s a faithful yet fresh retelling of her most famous work. For newcomers, it’s an unforgettable gateway into one of fiction’s most enduring vampire sagas. Unlike the 1994 film starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, this adaptation doesn’t shy away from the romantic core of the story. It embraces the emotional complexity of Louis and Lestat’s bond — a decision fans have widely celebrated. @BrianScott wrote in his Google review: ‘Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson are amazing actors who inhabit their characters with effortless skill and compassion.’ Whether you’re drawn in by its gothic atmosphere or its immortal love story, one thing’s clear – this is one show that is living forever.
