Texas ends ABA accreditation monopoly in the Lone Star State

In the little over 100 years since its founding, the American Bar Association has transformed from an organization designed to promote best practices in the legal profession to one promoting partisan political positions that are immoral, illegal, and unethical. But despite its woke commitments, the ABA has remained the nation’s only nationally recognized law school accreditor. On top of that, many states specifically require that those who sit for their state’s bar exam must first have graduated from an ABA-accredited law school. The ABA long ago ceased to promote best practices for legal education—leading my colleague at The Heritage Foundation and me to call for federal and state actions to end the ABA’s accreditation monopoly. In April, President Donald Trump issued an executive order explicitly criticizing the ABA’s accrediting arm for its problematic DEI practices and ordering the Department of Education to “hold accountable [consistent with applicable law], including through denial, monitoring, suspension, or termination of accreditation recognition, accreditors who fail to meet the applicable recognition criteria or otherwise violate Federal law.” Trump clarified that accreditors violate federal law by “requiring institutions seeking accreditation to engage in unlawful discrimination in accreditation-related activity under the guise of ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’ initiatives.” That’s after U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi had already notified the ABA it was likely breaking the law by pushing its DEI policies. Last week, Texas became the first state to adopt our main state-level recommendation, with its supreme court eliminating the requirement that an individual has to have graduated from an ABA-accredited law school to sit for the bar in that state. “The Court is of the tentative opinion that the ABA should no longer have the final say on whether a law school’s graduates are eligible to sit for the Texas bar exam and become licensed to practice law in Texas,” the Texas Supreme Court wrote. Now, it falls to the Texas Supreme Court itself to decide whether a law school qualifies as an “approved law school” eligible to have its graduates sit for, and become members of, the Texas bar. The change won’t take effect until early in 2026—after a period for public comment—but this is undoubtedly a step in the right direction. Texas isn’t the only state considering such changes. Florida’s Supreme Court is considering a similar step, and other states will likely follow suit—as they should. After all, the ABA tried to bully George Mason University’s law school into discriminating against students based on race—even going so far as to threaten the school’s accreditation unless it applied different admissions standards based on race. The ABA has pushed policies that likely violate the First Amendment by restricting what attorneys can—and cannot—say. And it even—absurdly—claimed the Equal Rights Amendment had become the 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution. That position proved so radical, legally untenable, and dangerous that even President Joe Biden’s own archivist (the official responsible for formally recognizing new constitutional amendments) rejected it, as did the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. Thankfully, Texas has taken a first and important step toward eliminating the ABA’s undue and unwarranted influence on legal education and the legal community more broadly. Stay tuned, because there’s likely more to come from other states and the federal government. [Editor’s note: This story originally was published by The Daily Signal.]

Jose Aldo accused Dana White of turning UFC into a ‘circus’ by booking historic Conor McGregor fight

Jose Aldo was furious when the UFC booked Conor McGregor vs Eddie Alvarez After Aldo turned down a Conor McGregor rematch offer because of the late notice at UFC 196, he went on to fight Frankie Edgar for the interim featherweight title in July 2016. The fight, which marked Aldo’s first since the 13-second KO against McGregor, went the distance and saw all three scorecards go the Brazilian’s way, seemingly setting up a unification fight with the Irish champion. While ‘Junior’ claimed to have been promised as much by Dana White, the UFC instead went a different way and gave McGregor the chance to become the promotion’s first-ever simultaneous double champion. He made the most of that opportunity at UFC 205, where McGregor knocked out Eddie Alvarez to capture the lightweight belt. Aldo, meanwhile, was left enraged at the situation. So much so that he even requested his release from the UFC. “I heard about everything that happened through my coach (Andre Pederneiras),” Aldo told Brazilian website Combate over nine years ago. “We waited until Dana publicly said that he wanted this fight with McGregor to happen. And then we expected it to happen: I’d get my rematch to unify the featherweight belts, or I’d have my belt back and fight (Max) Holloway or (Anthony) Pettis, since Dana said all the time that Conor couldn’t keep both belts. “But, to my surprise, I heard last night about the fight between McGregor and Eddie Alvarez, which was also denied by Dana last week,” Aldo continued. “And to make it worse, he would keep the featherweight belt, and possibly have two belts at the same time. “I understand that he sells a lot, but it gets to a limit when it’s no longer a sport, it becomes a circus.”

Dangerous flooding in the US

By CNN’s Dakin Andone, CNN Meteorologists Linda Lam and Mary Gilbert (CNN) — An impactful nor’easter is strengthening and unleashing damaging wind gusts, heavy rain and coastal flooding as it tracks up the mid-Atlantic coast. The storm is packing a serious punch as it slowly moves north and disrupts air travel at major Northeast airports and threatens to push the ocean into homes and onto roads along the mid-Atlantic coast. This coastal storm is called a nor’easter due to the prevailing wind direction from the northeast ahead of its center. These northeast winds push water toward the coast, causing it to erode beaches and pile up and cause flooding. Here’s the latest: Water rescues: Authorities in Georgetown, South Carolina, rescued several motorists trapped Sunday morning by floodwaters due to a “copious amount of rainfall” that fell in just a few hours, Georgetown County Emergency Services Director Brandon Ellis told CNN. Georgetown recorded nearly 10 inches of rain in the past 24 hours. Punishing winds: Wind gusts over 50 mph have been observed in North Carolina, Virginia, Delaware and New Jersey as of Sunday afternoon. A gust of 61 mph was measured at North Carolina’s Cape Lookout while gusts for New Jersey’s Sea Isle City spiked to 59 mph. Strong winds gusts will continue to spread north. Dangerous coastal flooding: Water levels were rising early Sunday afternoon from North Carolina into the Northeast. Water levels in Duck, North Carolina, hit major flood stage late Sunday morning with dozens of other locales expected to see major or moderate flooding in the coming hours. Some locations could see water levels reach a mark not touched in more than a decade into Monday. Travel woes: The storm is already affecting air travel in the Northeast, with ground delays Sunday afternoon due to weather at Boston Logan, Reagan National, Newark Liberty, Philadelphia, John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia airports, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Significant coastal flooding ongoing Dozens of river gauge locations are expected to reach moderate or major flood stage, the most severe level, from this nor’easter. Areas from the Virginia Tidewater into Delaware and southern New Jersey are of particular concern. The major coastal flooding could inundate roads and homes, as well as cause beach erosion when combined with the heavy rain and strong winds. The slow movement of the nor’easter will result in multiple rounds of coastal flooding and increase the beach erosion potential up and down the East Coast. This potent coastal storm has already caused coastal flooding in the Southeast. Portions of North Carolina Highway 12 are closed Sunday due to ocean overwash. The Department of Transportation has warned drivers that travel is dangerous in the Outer Banks. Ongoing beach erosion in the Outer Banks will add to concerns there. At least nine unoccupied homes have collapsed into the Atlantic since September 30 due to intense wave action and erosion from recent storms. Charleston Harbor in South Carolina reached major flood stage Saturday afternoon and Friday morning, flooding streets there. Heavy rain is also amping up the threat level: The motorists rescued from floodwater in Georgetown, South Carolina, were “checked on by fire personnel, removed from their vehicles and brought to dry ground,” Ellis said, adding no injuries have been reported. He did not have an exact number of people rescued but estimated about a half dozen were assisted within the city. Though officials there hope the worst is behind them, Ellis urged motorists to “turn around, don’t drown” when encountering flood water or barricades. Leaders urge vigilance Leaders up and down the East Coast have told residents in their states to be cautious. Acting New Jersey Gov. Tahesha Way declared a state of emergency that went into effect Saturday night “out of an abundance of caution,” asking residents to stay off the roads “unless absolutely necessary.” Governors like Kathy Hochul of New York and Wes Moore of Maryland stopped short of declaring emergencies but still urged vigilance. “I also encourage all Marylanders to ensure their loved ones and neighbors are properly monitoring the potential for high winds, rain, and flooding,” Moore said. “Take care of yourself. Take care of your people.” Atlantic City has been getting ready for the storm over the last week, Mayor Marty Small Sr. told CNN on Sunday, adding the city had learned from past storms like Sandy how best to prepare. “We always prepare for the worst and keep hoping for the best,” the city’s Acting Emergency Management Coordinator Michael Famularo told CNN. Wind, heavy rain not just coastal concerns Climate change is supercharging the winds of the strongest nor’easters, a recent study found, and this one has the potential to bring significant impacts to multiple locations along the East Coast. Strong, prolonged damaging wind gusts of 40 to 55 mph will lash the coast as the storm crawls north. Some of the strongest gusts over 55 mph are expected from New Jersey into southern New England. These wind gusts are as strong as what a tropical storm produces, despite this storm not being classified as one. The high winds could last into Tuesday morning along the Northeast coast and could down tree branches and send unsecured objects flying. Rainfall of 1 to 3 inches will be common along the East Coast, with some spots in eastern North Carolina and southeastern New England possibly picking up totals of up to 6 inches. Localized flash flooding will be a concern in areas that experience multiple rounds of heavy rain. The nor’easter will finally either weaken or pull away from the coast Tuesday. High pressure will build in behind the storm, resulting in dry weather and decreasing winds. The-CNN-Wire™ & © 2025 Cable News Network, Inc., a Warner Bros. Discovery Company. All rights reserved.

Osun funeral turns tragic as boy, 14, dies in accidental shooting

A 14-year-old boy was tragically killed by an accidental gunshot during a funeral party in Ilesa, Osun StateThe shooting, allegedly involving a Nigerian Forest Security Service operative, triggered panic and led to multiple injuriesPolice have arrested two individuals and launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident A 14-year-old boy was fatally shot during a funeral party in Ilesa, Osun State, after a security operative allegedly discharged his firearm in error. The tragic incident occurred on Saturday at the Oke Ero Area of Ilesa, prompting immediate police intervention and public concern over firearm safety. The spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed the incident in an interview with PUNCH Online on Sunday. He stated that two individuals had been arrested in connection with the shooting and had been transferred to the command headquarters in Osogbo for further investigation. “One person was shot dead. The deceased is a 14-year-old. It happened at a funeral party in Ilesa,” Ojelabi said. “A guard was allegedly involved in the shooting. Three other people sustained injury. But two of those injured were discharged from the hospital this morning. The two people arrested are in our custody, and the investigation is ongoing into what happened at the event.” Accidental discharge by forest security operative Eyewitnesses, speaking under condition of anonymity, identified the shooter as a member of the Nigerian Forest Security Service who had been assigned to guard duty at the funeral. They described the incident as an accidental discharge, which abruptly ended the ceremony and caused widespread panic among attendees. One witness recounted: “The incident was an accidental discharge because the man involved, an operative of the Nigeria Forest Security Service, was on guard duty with some of his colleagues when he released the shot. One person was hit, and he died immediately. Some people were also injured. The shooting led to serious panic as people ran in different directions. The event came to an abrupt end after the shooting.” Gun salute turns fatal Further clarification was provided by Hammed Nureni, Commander of the Nigeria Forest Service in Osun State. Nureni explained that the operative involved had travelled from Plateau State to attend the burial ceremony in Ilesa. He confirmed that the police had taken over the investigation and urged the public to remain calm. “They came from Jos for a burial ceremony in Ilesa. From what I was told, the shooting occurred while the guards were performing a gun salute in honour of the person who was being interred,” Nureni said. “The operative involved, we were told, shot into the air, and by the time he was bringing down the firearm, the gun suddenly discharged again, killing one person, said to be a relation to the deceased that was being honoured with the gun salute.” Osun police reiterate firearm safety warnings The incident comes amid a period of declining reports of firearm misuse in Osun State, attributed to ongoing advocacy by security agencies on responsible gun handling. In February, PUNCH Online reported that the Osun State Police Command had issued a public warning, particularly targeting hunters, about the dangers of accidental discharge. The statement, signed by then spokesperson Yemisi Opalola, read in part: “The Osun State Police Command is constrained to caution/sensitise members of the public, especially hunters, on the use of guns for hunting. The command is confronted with incessant cases of accidental discharge or misfiring of guns, which on several occasions have led to the death of human beings.” The command further advised residents to avoid storing loaded firearms in their homes and to refrain from loading guns in populated areas to minimise the risk of fatal accidents. “The Command further warned that such an unwholesome act of negligence will not be treated with levity,” the statement concluded. Qatari officials killed in car crash near Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh, embassy says

According to security sources, the car carrying Qatari diplomats overturns on road 50 km from city EGYPT: Three employees of Qatar’s Amiri Diwan, its top government body, were killed in a car crash near Egypt’s Red Sea resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh, Qatar’s embassy in Egypt said in a post on X on Sunday. The embassy said two others were wounded and were receiving necessary medical treatment at the city’s hospital. Earlier, two security sources told Reuters that a car carrying Qatari diplomats overturned on a curve on a road 50 kilometers (31 miles) from the city. According to Aljazeera News, the embassy said the diplomats lost their lives while carrying out official duties. Two other officials were injured in the accident and are currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Sharm el-Sheikh. “The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Cairo extends its heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathies to the families of the deceased, praying that God envelops them in His vast mercy, accepts them in Paradise, and grants the injured a speedy recovery,” the statement read. Sharm el-Sheikh recently hosted ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas aimed at ending the Gaza war. The resort city is also set to host a global summit on Monday to finalise the truce agreement. The accident came a few days after officials from Qatar, Turkey and Egypt participated in indirect talks in Sharm el-Sheikh earlier this week that led to the agreement between Israel and Hamas on the first phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza. The Egyptian city is set to host a global summit on Monday aimed at finalising the agreement.

Switch 2 version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows appears on French retailer website

A listing for a Switch 2 version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows has appeared on a French retailer’s website, further increasing the likelihood of an official announcement. Retailer Auchan has listed the game, complete with apparent box art, on its website, with a description (in French) reading: “Experience Assassin’s Creed Shadows in a whole new way with Nintendo Switch 2.” Should the box art be accurate, it confirms that the as-yet-unannounced game will be a Game-Key Card, much like the Switch 2 version of Ubisoft‘s Star Wars Outlaws: Gold Edition. An official announcement of a Switch 2 version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been expected for a number of months now, following its appearance on the PEGI website in April. The game was top of the list of most searched titles on the PEGI site’s database in April, but the game’s name it listed the supported formats as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. The actual PEGI listing page for the game doesn’t show Switch 2, but one potential reason for this is that PEGI may able to hide platforms for games on their database if they haven’t been officially confirmed yet, and this hidden tag was somehow mistakenly appearing on the front page. Players will be more open to the idea of a Switch 2 port of Assassin’s Creed Shadows following a port of Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws, which was released last month. VGC recently posted a First Play video showing the Switch 2 version of Star Wars Outlaws in action. Despite initial reports coming out of Gamescom suggesting the game could run poorly, subsequent footage (including our own) suggests this isn’t the case, with Digital Foundry’s John Linneman calling the port “insanely impressive” for the hardware. VGC’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows review concluded: “With excellent gameplay, a compelling narrative and a massive, beautiful world to explore, it is so much better than many expected it to be. Even if it’s not the game that saves Ubisoft, it did exactly what it needed to, bringing confidence back to one of modern gaming’s biggest and most troubled franchises.”

Dumper kills one, injures three near Edhi Centre as heavy-vehicle accidents soar

KARACHI: A young man was killed and three others wounded when a speeding dumper truck ploughed into pedestrians and a motorcyclist outside the Edhi Centre in Karachi. The crash took place in front of the Edhi Tower, where onlookers, shocked by the sudden carnage, rushed to help and later destroyed parts of the vehicle in anger. According to rescue workers and Edhi officials, the dumper was moving fast when it collided with a motorbike and struck a group of people waiting nearby. Among the injured was an Edhi volunteer. One of those hurt is reported to be in critical condition. The deceased was identified as Basit Ali, aged 25. The injured include Shafiq (55), Junaid (28), and the volunteer Roshan. Angered by the tragic loss and chaos, bystanders stoned the truck, shattering its windows. The driver was swiftly detained by police officers, who used tow trucks to pull the dumper away from the scene to a nearby station for further investigation. Edhi volunteers retrieved Basit’s body and transported it to the Civil Hospital for legal and medical formalities, while the injured were shifted to nearby hospitals. Kharadar Station House Officer Poon Kumar confirmed the arrest of the dumper’s driver. He said officers secured the area soon after, cordoning off the site and gathering statements from eyewitnesses. The probe is ongoing, with authorities seeking to determine whether the vehicle was over-speeding, mechanically unfit, or involved in other negligence. This incident adds to a mounting list of deadly crashes involving heavy vehicles in Karachi. In recent months, the city has witnessed a surge in accidents involving dumpers, tankers, and trailers that have claimed many lives. Last year, hospital records and media reports indicated that several hundred people died in collisions involving heavy transport. For instance, an earlier case recorded in the same city involved a dumper hitting a motorcycle and killing a couple while injuring others. In response to the worsening trend, the Sindh government recently endorsed stricter regulations targeting heavy vehicles. New rules require mandatory GPS tracking and installation of 360-degree cameras, while fines of up to Rs300,000 have been introduced for serious violations. The revised Motor Vehicle Rules also insist that all heavy commercial vehicles obtain valid fitness certificates from designated inspection centres under the transport department. Authorities warned that vehicles failing to comply would be barred from operating and that penalties would be strictly enforced. Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, speaking to reporters, emphasised that the amendments were meant to protect lives, reduce accident rates, and bring transparency to traffic enforcement. He singled out poorly maintained dumpers and other heavy vehicles as among the chief contributors to the rising toll of casualties on Karachi roads. The minister said the new rules would not only cover technical requirements but hold vehicle owners accountable for safety violations. Despite these regulatory changes, implementation and oversight have remained inconsistent, critics say. Many heavy vehicles continue to operate without proper safety equipment, old braking systems, and minimal supervision. Traffic authorities, under pressure from civil society and victims’ families, have occasionally conducted spot checks and impounded non-compliant vehicles, but those efforts are viewed as sporadic and insufficient. Public outrage is growing with each new crash. In previous incidents, residents have blocked highways, torched offending vehicles, and demanded accountability from the government. One such case saw hundreds of dumpers set ablaze by an enraged mob following a deadly collision. Complaints frequently surface pointing to weak inspections, lax policing, and impunity for operators of hazardous vehicles. Observers warn that unless the regulation is matched by rigorous enforcement, public awareness campaigns, and improved maintenance of roads and signage, Karachi will continue to bear the human cost of these disasters. Experts propose that heavy vehicles be restricted from densely populated urban zones during peak hours, that routine safety audits be unannounced and stricter, and that traffic courts expedite prosecution of violations.

Ceasefire holds in Gaza ahead of hostage swap, Trump’s Israel visit

Thousands head north to Gaza City, hoping ceasefire signals end to months of Israeli attacks Hamas due by noon on Monday to release the remaining hostages GAZA: Thousands of Palestinians continued to travel north towards Gaza City, the focus of Israeli attacks over the past two months, hopeful the ceasefire would bring an end to the war. “There is a lot of joy among the people,” said Abdou Abu Seada, adding that the joy was tempered by exhaustion after two years of war that have destroyed much of Gaza. Israel’s hostages coordinator, Gal Hirsch, in a letter to relatives of the captives seen by Reuters, said it was expected that hostages would start being released on Monday. Hamas set to release hostages from midday Monday Under the ceasefire agreement, Hamas is due by noon on Monday to release the remaining hostages, taken captive on October 7, 2023, when the group’s militants launched the surprise attack on Israel that ignited the war. Hirsch on Thursday said a task force would be formed to help find the remains of any dead hostages that Hamas could not locate. Twenty of the 48 hostages are known to be alive. Trump is due to arrive in Israel on Monday to address the Knesset, the parliament, before traveling to Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt for a world leaders’ summit on ending the Gaza war. Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner addressed a rally in Tel Aviv on Saturday, which many Israelis hoped would be the final one urging the release of hostages and end to the war. The United States, along with Egypt, Qatar and Turkey, mediated what has been described as a first phase agreement between Israel and Hamas for a ceasefire and the release of hostages by Hamas and prisoners and detainees by Israel. “For two years we (have been) waiting for this day for this moment… All of us feel happy for the family, for the hostages, that finally .. we will see them,” said demonstrator Dalia Yosef, thanking Trump. Israel to destroy underground tunnels built by Hamas The Israel Prison Service said it had transferred some Palestinian prisoners to other facilities ahead of their expected release. The Israeli Ministry of Justice has released the names of 250 Palestinians, convicted of murder and other serious crimes, who are to be freed under the deal. Have both sacrificed so much for this country and devoted their lives to the service of Israel. The list does not include senior Hamas commanders that the Islamist militant group had sought to free, or prominent figures from other factions Marwan Al Barghouti or Ahmed Saadat. However, that was not expected to derail the agreement. Israel is also to release 1,700 Palestinians who have been detained in Gaza since October 7, 2023 and 22 Palestinian minors, along with the bodies of 360 militants. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that once the hostages were returned, the military would destroy underground tunnels in Gaza built by Hamas. Palestinians returning to northern Gaza have described widespread devastation. Rescue workers warned there could be unexploded ordnance and bombs in the area. Amjad Al Shawa, who heads a Palestinian organisation coordinating with aid groups, estimated 300,000 tents were needed to temporarily house 1.5 million displaced Gazans. “We couldn’t believe the destruction we have seen,” Rami Mohammad-Ali, 37, said by phone after walking 15 kilometres (9.3 miles) with his son from Deir Al Balah to Gaza City. “We are joyful to return to Gaza (City) but at the same time we have bitter feelings about the destruction,” he said, describing seeing human remains scattered along roads.

“We commend Trump for speaking against killings”: Tinubu urged to sack service chiefs

Legit.ng journalist Adekunle Dada has over 8 years of experience covering metro, government policy, and international issues FCT, Abuja - President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been urged to immediately sack the nation’s security chiefs following the unabated killings of Nigerians across the country. Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, expressed deep concern over the rising wave of insecurity, banditry, and kidnappings. Frank described the situation as a national tragedy that requires urgent executive action. He stated this while reacting to the fresh killing of soldiers in Borno state by suspected Boko Haram insurgents. This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja and made available to Legit.ng on Sunday, October 12, 2025. The former APC chieftain said Nigerians are being killed “like chickens” daily across the nation. Frank said the situation is a clear indication that the country’s security architecture has collapsed under the current leadership. “Our soldiers and policemen are dying in large numbers due to poor funding and a lack of proper equipment. Sanaullah urges PTI, parties to unite under ‘charter for stable Pakistan’ after border escalation

‘At this moment, I say to the PTI leadership: you may continue to criticise us, but you must stand with Pakistan, with its armed forces: PM’s aide Stresses everyone should back PM Shehbaz’s ‘Misaq-i-Istehkam-i-Pakistan’ initiative, which has become imperative in the wake of latest border escalation Urges TLP to end its protest, citing national interest and Gaza diplomacy progress LAHORE: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah on Sunday urged the PTI and other political parties to unite behind the government’s proposed “charter for a stable Pakistan,” saying the initiative had become imperative in the wake of the latest border escalation with Afghanistan that left 23 Pakistani soldiers martyred and over 200 militants killed. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), overnight clashes between Pakistan and Afghan forces erupted along the Pak-Afghan border on the night of Oct 11–12, after “Afghan Taliban and India-backed militants” launched an unprovoked attack. Pakistan said its forces responded decisively, inflicting heavy losses on the attackers. Islamabad, for a long time, has been urging Kabul to rein in the Fitna al-Khawarij—a term designated for terrorists affiliated with the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)—accusing them of operating from Afghan soil, a charge denied by Kabul. Addressing a media briefing in Lahore, Sanaullah said the current circumstances demanded national unity above politics. “At this moment, I say to the PTI leadership: you may continue to criticize us, but you must stand with Pakistan, with its armed forces, and with its martyrs,” he said. “If you stand with Pakistan and the armed forces, a way forward will open for you.” The PTI, however, continues to oppose renewed military operations, arguing that past offensives failed to curb militancy and displaced civilians, fueling resentment in affected areas. The party maintains that terrorism should be tackled through dialogue and governance reforms, not force, warning that fresh operations without a political strategy could further destabilise Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A day earlier, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar had accused the PTI-led KP government of “facilitating terrorists, sowing division, and undermining national security.” Reiterating Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s call for unity, Sanaullah invited all parties to join the proposed ‘Misaq-i-Istehkam-i-Pakistan’ (Charter for a Stable Pakistan). “I invite all political parties, leaders, and parliamentarians — from the assemblies to the Senate — to back this charter,” he said. “National consolidation has become more important than ever.” Referring to the border escalation, the adviser praised the armed forces’ response. “Today, we have dealt a blow to a disgraced and hidden enemy,” he said. “Thanks to Field Marshal Asim Munir’s courageous policy and the bravery of our soldiers, the entire nation witnessed a moment of honour unseen in 78 years.” ‘TLP should call off protest’ Sanaullah also appealed to the Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) to call off its ongoing protest, citing the national situation and improved diplomatic progress on Gaza. “The Gaza march was meant as solidarity, but now that the crisis is largely being resolved diplomatically, the protest should end,” he said, urging TLP to instead stand with Pakistan’s leadership and armed forces. He added that senior religious leaders, including Maulana Fazlur Rehman, had voiced concern over the protest turning violent. “You may not listen to us, but your late leader Khadim Hussain Rizvi always stood with Pakistan—you should do the same,” he concluded.
