Ashaiman MP, Hon .Dr. Ernest Norgbey Engages Communities

…Residents Demand Schools, Roads and Water; MP Pledges Delivery As part of a post-election “thank-you” tour, Ashaiman Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr.Ernest Norgbey in collaboration for Growth engage a dozen communities in his constituency today. Residents who used the opportunity to press him for urgently needed development projects, notably new schools, improved roads and reliable water supply. The engagement; billed by the MP as a gesture of gratitude to voters after the 2024 elections, took Hon. Ernest to villages and townships across the constituency where he held community meetings, listened to concerns and reaffirmed campaign commitments.According to organisers, the engagement were deliberately grassroots in scope, intended to allow face-to-face conversations with chiefs, assembly members, market women, youth and health workers.Community needs laid bareIn each stop, recurring themes emerged. Parents asked for additional classroom blocks or refurbishment of existing facilities to ease overcrowding and improve teaching and learning conditions. Road users and commercial drivers pleaded for the grading and surfacing of feeder roads that are often impassable in the rainy season, increasing transport costs and isolating communities.Women and school principals urged the MP to prioritise potable water projects to reduce waterborne diseases and save children long walks to distant boreholes.Health concerns were also raised. Community health volunteers and clinic staff appealed for improved staffing, equipment, and medicines at local health posts requests Hon. Dr. Ernest Norgbey said he took seriously.“People were clear about what they need,” a local assembly member who attended several of the engagements told this paper. “They want practical interventions — classrooms, tarred roads, boreholes and better clinic support. They want to see projects and they want timelines.”MP pledges to honour campaign promisesResponding to the appeals, Hon. Dr. Ernest Norgbey told residents that his engagement was the start — not the end — of constituency engagement. He reiterated assurances he gave during the 2024 campaign, saying he would work to mobilise resources and coordinate actions with central government agencies, the Municipal Assembly and development partners to deliver the projects.“During the campaign I made promises to this constituency and today I am here to tell you I intend to keep them,” Hon. Ernest Norgbey said during one public meeting. “We will prioritise schools, roads and water; we will work with the Municipal Assembly and relevant ministries to secure funding and get contractors on site.”He outlined a multi-track approach — combining constituency-level interventions (using the MP’s office and constituency development funds), lobbying for central government projects, and seeking partnerships with NGOs and private sector actors — as the pathway to meeting the communities’ demands. The MP also called for patience and community cooperation in monitoring projects and protecting completed facilities.“We ap said a chief from one of the communities. Parents similarly said they would hold their elected representative to account.A teacher at a primary school in one of the visited towns described the MP’s promise as encouraging but said immediate action was needed.Turning pledges into projects will require funding, technical planning and inter-agency coordination. Sources of financing typically include the central government’s sector budgets, the Municipal Assembly Common Fund, GETFund (for education infrastructure), MPs’ Constituency Development Funds, donor or NGO support, and public-private partnerships.Projects such as road surfacing often require feasibility studies and approvals from agencies like the Department of Urban Roads and the Ghana Highway Authority.Development partners and local officials will need to be brought on board quickly if the MP’s commitments are to be realised before the next budget cycle.Community monitoring committees — made up of traditional leaders, youth and women’s groups — could help ensure transparency and guard against delays or misuse of resources. Why this mattersAshaiman Constituency requests reflect a broader reality in many Ghanaian constituencies: voters expect visible development — classrooms, clinics, water and roads — and increasingly demand that MPs deliver practical benefits, not only rhetoric. How Hon Mp moves from promise to project will determine local confidence in his leadership and could shape political fortunes in subsequent elections.A test of accountabilityResidents say they will watch closely. “We vote and we hope,” one mother commented. “Now we will monitor the work. If the MP delivers, he will have our continued support. If not, we will ask questions.”

PKCG: Zajednička vizija, znanje i saradnja pokretačka snaga razvoja

2026 Ford Mustang RTR Is A 'Ready To Rock' Drift Car For The Masses

We sometimes look at parts bin engineering as a bad thing, but that's not the case with the Mustang RTR. Ford has installed some of the best bits of high-end models on this lower-spec EcoBoost to make significant handling improvements. The RTR gets Brembo brakes from the GT Performance package, with six-piston front calipers and 15.3-inch front rotors. It also gets the GT's more powerful cooling fan and a modified GT steering rack with nearly three inches of additional travel to hold those drift angles. The Mustang Dark Horse donates its rear subframe, adjustable strut alignment brackets, and the front and rear stabilizer bars from its handling package. Ford has created a special Drift/Track performance alignment spec, which dealers can set the car to at the customer's request. MagneRide dampers are optional, and also get RTR-specific settings. A unique RTR-tuned Track mode allows drivers to get sideways, but reels the car in before it gets too far out of control, giving amateurs a chance to get a feel for drifting with an electronic safety net. A drift car has to look cool, and the RTR gets a bunch of upgrades in that department as well. It gains the nose of a Mustang GT. This could be to hide the fact that it's not a GT, but more likely to better integrate the special grill with RTR signature lit nostrils. The car looks white, but Ford calls the color Avalanche Gray. Numerous Tarnished Dark Anodized components compliment the color, the most notable of which are the 19-inch wheels. Special graphics, mirror caps, pony badges, and a raised rear wing spoiler from the Mustang GT Performance Pack complete the package. RTR likes its bright Hyper Lime calipers, seat belt, and Drift Brake, but they're also available in Dark Tarnished if the brightness doesn't appeal to you. Ford has not announced pricing, but the RTR package will be available solely for the EcoBoost High Package and EcoBoost Premium, both in the coupe body style only. Adding a few thousand to the base price of those would likely put this in the $35,000 to $40,000 range. That's more than a Toyota GR86, but it's also a lot more car with a lot more horsepower. While it's not chump change, it's still well below the $50,000 average price of a new car these days for a potent performance package.

Mantes book launch: I showed up to help, I walked away transformed – Dorcas Bekoe writes

Volunteering can look simple from the outside — but sometimes, it’s the beginning of a life-changing experience. On the 3rd of August, I had one of those moments. I joined a team as a volunteer to help plan something extraordinary — the first-ever quintuple book launch by my mentors, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mante . Five books. One event. One big vision. Before that day, there was so much background work to be done. And in the process, I found myself surrounded by some of the most brilliant minds I’ve ever worked with — journalists, creatives, event experts, academics, HR professionals, investment experts, media specialists, photographers… the list goes on. Everyone brought something unique to the table, and I was determined not just to do my part but to learn from each of them. I came in as a marketer and events person. I ended up leading marketing for the project and, at some point, assisting with coordination for the entire event. But more than the titles, it was the behind-the-scenes learning that changed me. I got to understand how different industries think and work — from when to post on different platforms for maximum reach, to how to design effective flyers, to scripting for media interviews. I also learned the art of building excitement and engagement around an event — identifying the right audience, crafting messages that would resonate with them, and ensuring the event attracted people who truly valued the vision behind the books. Coordinating media visibility, encouraging attendance, and even driving book purchases taught me that successful marketing is really about connection — knowing your audience, speaking their language, and inspiring action. Every conversation stretched my mind. Looking back, one thing stands out: it truly is more blessed to give than to receive. I showed up to support a vision I believed in. And in return, I gained priceless lessons, built meaningful relationships, and grew in ways I didn’t expect. If you’ve ever wondered whether volunteering is “worth it,” let me tell you — it is. When you give your best and open yourself to learn from others, you walk away with far more than you imagined. And yes, the books are out now — five powerful resources covering finances, marriage and money, building your first house, and more.If you haven’t grabbed a copy yet, reach out and let’s get you one. This experience reminded me that sometimes, the best opportunities don’t come with a paycheck — they come with people, lessons, and growth. 🎥 I’ve shared a short video below recounting my role and experience during the launch — I hope it inspires you to say “yes” to the next opportunity to serve. 🙌 Special shoutout to the incredible team —And a heartfelt thank-you once again to my mentor, @Paul Mante, for the vision and leadership that continues to inspire so many of us.

Trump border czar warns more 'bloodshed' could come as Dems continue anti-ICE rhetoric

Trump border czar Tom Homan warned Thursday that more "bloodshed" may come if Democrats continue their anti-ICE rhetoric, arguing that his prior warnings regarding violence have already manifested. "I've never seen anything even close to this, the hateful rhetoric that has caused an over 1,000% increase in [attacks against] ICE officers," he said on "The Faulkner Focus." "The hateful rhetoric has to stop. I said back in March if the hateful rhetoric continues there will be bloodshed, people are going to die, and they have, unfortunately." BONDI CLASHES WITH DURBIN ON NATIONAL GUARD DEPLOYMENT: 'LOVE CHICAGO AS MUCH AS YOU HATE PRESIDENT TRUMP' Homan pointed to an instance in which one person died while trying to attack a border patrol facility in Texas and shootings at ICE facilities in recent months. He imparted a warning to viewers, saying, "It's not going to stop." "I've seen this play out before. It's not going to stop. There's going to be more bloodshed unless this hateful rhetoric stops," he added. Homan's comments come amid opposition from many Democratic officials as the Trump administration ramps up its immigration and anti-crime efforts across the U.S. DALLAS MAYOR WARNS RISING POLITICAL VIOLENCE COULD MEAN ICE FACILITY ATTACK ‘WON’T BE THE LAST’ Among those officials are Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, who have repeatedly opposed federal intervention efforts to suppress crime and to apprehend illegal immigrants in their areas. The Democrats say the Trump administration is engaging in federal overreach, infringing upon state and local authority while creating chaos in their communities. Johnson insisted while speaking last month that the efforts are "not about public safety" or even about "immigration." "This is a continuation of the Trump administration's war on the poor," he added. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP Pritzker in August warned that "this is what happened during the early days of the Nazi regime in Germany." "I'm not suggesting we're going in the same direction necessarily, but, boy, it's frightening," he continued. Such rhetoric has drawn ire from others in the Trump administration, including DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.

Government delays Chinese super embassy decision again | Politics News

The government has again delayed making a decision on whether the Chinese super embassy can go ahead. New Housing Secretary Steve Reed, who took over from Angela Rayner, was due to approve or deny Beijing’s application for a 600,000 sq ft embassy near the Tower of London next Tuesday. However, the decision has been delayed to 10 December, “given the detailed nature” of the planning application, and the need to give parties sufficient opportunity to respond”, the prime minister’s spokesman confirmed. He added that the new deadline is “not legally binding”. The spokesman denied the postponement was politically influenced and said it was “very much bound by the quasi-judicial” nature of planning law. The delay comes the day after the government published witness statements it provided to prosecutors in the China spy trial that collapsed, prompting a blame game over whose fault it was that it dropped. A decision had already been delayed from 9 September to 21 October after China submitted plans with large greyed-out sections, which said: “Redacted for security reasons.” Explainer: Everything we know about China’s new ‘super embassy’ What are the concerns about the embassy? It has become controversial due to concerns about it being turned into a Chinese spy hub for Europe and the fact highly sensitive financial cables run beneath it to the City of London and Canary Wharf. The decision to delay again was made after the national security strategy committee wrote to Mr Reed on Monday saying that approving the embassy at its proposed site was “not in the UK’s long-term interest”. Committee chairman Matt Western, a Labour MP, said in the letter the location presents “eavesdropping risks in peacetime and sabotage risks in a crisis”. Read more:MI5 boss says China plot disrupted in past weekThe Chinese exiles with £100k bounties on their headsThree key questions about China spy case Tower Hamlets Council rejected China’s initial planning application in 2022 to turn Royal Mint Court, where British coins were minted until 1975, into the largest embassy in Europe over security concerns and opposition from residents. Beijing did not appeal the decision after making it clear it wanted Conservative ministers to give assurances they would back a resubmitted application – but the then-Tory government refused. Eleven days after Labour won the election last July, the application was resubmitted in nearly exactly the same form, and was soon “called in” by Ms Rayner for central government to decide. Conservative shadow housing secretary Sir James Cleverly accused the government of having “actively sought to silence the warnings” about the threats to national security from the embassy. “It is essential the planning review has access to the full unredacted drawings for the Chinese embassy, and that the UK security agencies are able to submit evidence in private, using established processes,” he said. “If Keir Starmer had any backbone, he would ensure his government threw out this sinister application – as Ireland and Australia did when faced with similar embassy development proposals from Russia.” What has China said about the concerns? In August, the Chinese embassy in the UK said the planning and design was “of high quality” and the application had “followed the customary diplomatic practices, as well as necessary protocol and procedures”. The embassy added that it is “an international obligation of the host country to provide support and facilitation for the construction of diplomatic premises”. And it reminded the UK that London wants to knock down and rebuild the British embassy in Beijing, which is in a very poor condition. In September, a Chinese embassy spokesperson told Sky News that claims the new embassy poses a potential security risk to the UK are “completely groundless and malicious slander, and we firmly oppose it”. They added: “Anti-China forces are using security risks as an excuse to interfere with the British government’s consideration over this planning application. This is a despicable move that is unpopular and will not succeed.”

BBVA's Sabadell takeover bid fails: Spanish regulator

Spanish banking giant BBVA's hostile takeover bid for smaller rival Sabadell has failed, the stock market regulator announced on Thursday, dashing BBVA's hopes of creating a new European sector colossus. The offer gained acceptance from 25.33 percent of Sabadell's shares and fell short of the minimum 30-percent threshold of voting rights needed for a possible second bid, the CNMV said in a statement. "As a result, the public offer has had a negative outcome" and "is rendered null and void", the CNMV said, announcing the outcome a day earlier than expected. Most analysts had doubted that BBVA, Spain's second-largest bank which has a large footprint in Turkey and Latin America, would secure more than 50 percent of Sabadell's shares, a threshold needed for outright control. The leadership of Sabadell, Spain's fourth-largest bank, had persistently rejected BBVA's advances and recommended its plethora of small shareholders reject the bid. BBVA reacted to the defeat by saying it would resume payouts to its shareholders and share buybacks during October and November. "At BBVA, we look towards the future with confidence and enthusiasm," the bank's chairman Carlos Torres Vila said in a statement. "I would like to thank the Banco Sabadell shareholders who showed their support for the merger plan, BBVA shareholders for their constant backing, and our team," he said. The offer, which had valued Sabadell at around 17 billion euros (around $20 billion), aimed to forge a European banking powerhouse capable of competing with heavyweights such as Santander, BNP Paribas and HSBC. The potentially huge consolidation in Spain's banking sector had sparked opposition and competition concerns from the left-wing government. BBVA persevered with its offer despite the government requiring a three-year freeze on merging the operations of the two lenders to safeguard market competition, seen as a major roadblock. Obama-appointed judge says she wants body cameras for federal agents amid Chicago anti-ICE clashes

A federal judge reportedly said she wants federal agents in the Chicago area to wear body cameras after a series of violent clashes with anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) crowds. U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis, who was appointed by former President Barack Obama, said images of the clashes on TV left her a "little startled" as the Trump administration continues its illegal immigration crackdown. "The field director is going to explain to me why I am seeing images of tear gas being deployed and reading reports that there were no warnings given out in the field," Ellis said in court this week, according to The New York Times. Last week, Ellis ordered ICE agents to wear badges and banned them from using certain riot control tactics against peaceful protesters and journalists. ICE agents have reportedly used tear gas and taken other measures as tensions between the immigration enforcement officers and the public escalate. CHICAGO POLICE ORDERED NOT TO RESPOND AFTER CAR-RAMMING ATTACK ON FEDERAL AGENTS: SOURCES "I’m getting images and seeing images on the news, in the paper, reading reports where I’m having concerns about my order being followed," Ellis said. "I’m having concerns about my order being followed," the judge added this week, according to The Associated Press. "I am adding that all agents who are operating in Operation Midway Blitz are to wear body-worn cameras, and they are to be on," Ellis said, referring to the government's name for the crackdown. Justice Department attorney Sean Skedzielewski laid blame on "one-sided and selectively edited media reports," according to the AP. He also said it wouldn’t be possible to distribute cameras immediately. "I understand that. I would not be expecting agents to wear body-worn cameras they do not have," Ellis said, adding that the details could be worked out later. She said the field director of the enforcement effort must appear in court Monday. The ICE facility in Broadview, Ill., a Chicago suburb, has been the site of several chaotic clashes between federal law enforcement and protesters. Following a different federal judge's order, an eight-foot fence surrounding the facility was taken down Tuesday, FOX 32 Chicago. The fence was reportedly put up late last month and caused tension between federal and local officials. The Broadview Fire Department reportedly informed DHS that the fence was built without permission on a public street, which is under the village's jurisdiction, according to FOX 32. Also on Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that two illegal immigrants were in custody after ramming their vehicle into a Border Patrol vehicle in Chicago during an immigration enforcement operation. This led to a clash with protesters. The illegal immigrants were identified as Luis Gerardo Pirela-Ramirez and Yonder Enrique Tenefe-Perez, both of whom are from Venezuela. A senior DHS source told Fox News that the two rammed into a Border Patrol vehicle and attempted to flee the scene. TRUMP OFFICIALS SLAM BLUE STATE GOVERNOR FOR IGNORING CHAOTIC ANTI-ICE ‘RIOTERS’ DISRUPTING OPERATION "This morning, while conducting an immigration enforcement operation in Chicago, a vehicle, driven by an illegal alien rammed a Border Patrol vehicle and attempted to flee the scene," a DHS spokesperson said. "Border Patrol pursued the vehicle and was eventually able to stop it utilizing an authorized precision immobilization technique (PIT) maneuver. Once the vehicle was stopped, the suspects, who are both illegal aliens, attempted to flee on foot. As Border Patrol arrested the subjects and attempted to secure the scene, a crowd began to form and eventually turned hostile and eventually crowd control measures were used." During the clash with protesters that followed the incident, federal officers deployed tear gas, exposing 13 Chicago police officers on the scene to the riot control agent. Several Democrats, including Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, have pushed back on the Trump administration's immigration enforcement policies. President Donald Trump recently called for Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson to be arrested for failing to protect federal ICE agents. "I will not back down. Trump is now calling for the arrest of elected representatives checking his power. What else is left on the path to full-blown authoritarianism?" Pritzker said in reaction to Trump on Oct. 8. "We must all stand up and speak out." Brewers fan loses job after imploring she would 'call ICE' on Hispanic Dodgers supporter: report

A Milwaukee Brewers fan got a double whammy when she reportedly lost her job shortly after her favorite team dropped to a 2-0 deficit in the National League Championship Series. Shannon Kobylarczyk was spotted on video threatening a Hispanic Los Angeles Dodgers fan that she would "call ICE" (Immigration and Customs Enforcement). After the Dodgers took a 4-1 lead in the seventh inning, Ricardo Fosado recorded the upset Milwaukee crowd, rhetorically asking why American Family Field was "so quiet." "You know what, let's call ICE," Kobylarczyk then said to a fellow Brewers fan in front of her. Fosado then responded that he was a United States citizen who had served in two wars, to which Kobylarczyk swiped at Fosado. "ICE is not gonna do nothing to me. Good luck. Call ICE, call them. F---ing idiot," Fosado said. MARK TEIXEIRA SAYS 'UNREASONABLE' DEMOCRATS ARE HOLDING AMERICANS 'HOSTAGE' WITH GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel confirmed that Kobylarczyk is "no longer" with ManpowerGroup, a Milwaukee-based staffing company, and also resigned from her role on the Make-A-Wish Wisconsin board of directors. Fosado told the outlet that Kobylarczyk reported him to stadium security, and he was ejected. Fosado, who signed up for the military after 9/11, served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Despite the attack, he does not feel that Kobylarczyk should have lost her job. "I don't think it was like horrible or something that should get her fired. I feel bad for her," Fosado said to the outlet. "We cannot be judged on one mistake and a lot of emotions were involved. It was just hurt feelings; nobody physically hurt anybody." "The Brewers expect all persons attending games to be respectful of each other, and we do not condone in any way offensive statements fans make to each other about race, gender, or national origin. Our priority is to ensure that all in attendance have a safe and enjoyable experience at the ballpark. "In this instance, the Milwaukee Police Department dealt with the individual who was ejected for actions apart from the events depicted in this video, including disorderly conduct and public intoxication. Separately, video shows that the other individual involved in the argument became physical in the course of her interactions with the person who was ejected." The Brewers said that neither Fosado nor Kobylarczyk would be welcome back to the ballpark. The NLCS heads back west on Thursday, where the Dodgers need to win two of the next five games to advance to their second consecutive World Series and fifth in nine years. Nketiah, Hudson-Odoi, others ready to play for Ghana after Black Stars qualify for 2026 World Cup

Ghana qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as one of Africa's nine guaranteed representatives at the tournamentThe Black Stars moved on from the disappointment of not qualifying for AFCON to playing on the global stageThree foreign-born players who had turned down the country are reportedly interested in switching their nationality Three foreign-born players have reportedly expressed interest in playing for Ghana after the Black Stars qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Ghana beat Comoros 1-0 and topped Group I with 25 points to seal their qualification to the tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Otto Addo repaid the faith the Ghana Football Association had in him after retaining him despite failing to qualify for AFCON 2025. The nation’s triumph has led to reports that some foreign-born players who had previously turned down the team are open to switching their nationality. 3 Premier League stars interested in Ghana In recent times, African countries have convinced players of dual nationality who have ties to Africa to play for their teams, and the discussions have arisen again ahead of the World Cup. According to Yen, Crystal Palace striker Eddie Nketiah and Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi are now ready to play for the Black Stars. Both have previously turned down approaches from the Ghana FA in the hope of representing England. Nketiah has one cap, while Hudson-Odoi has three caps for the Three Lions. Understandably, there have been social media protests from Ghanaians to ignore both players and also Francis Amuzu, who ignored Ghana for Belgium in the past. Another Premier League star whom the country is reportedly trailing is Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia, who is eligible for Ghana through his father. Remarkably, Ghanaians are open to the idea of having the midfielder, who has one cap for the Red Devils of Belgium, join their World Cup squad. Otto Addo addressed foreign-born players Ghana head coach Otto Addo has reacted to the news that some foreign-born players are showing interest in representing the team at the 2026 World Cup. He refused to mention names but confirmed that the reports were true and that each case would be treated differently before making a decision. “I think Ghana should always have a certain pride. As a country, we need to check the commitment of each player, which is very crucial because we have very good unity, and we definitely don’t want to destroy it by bringing players who don’t have commitment,” he said as quoted by Ghana Soccernet. “In general, we will look at each case individually. Without naming names, there are players we've been chasing since I became coach in 2021 who didn't respond to calls or didn't want to come. It's very difficult to generalize, so we have to evaluate each case separately.” There are other foreign-born stars on Ghana’s radar, including Chelsea academy graduates Tyrique George and Josh Acheampong, who are with the England U21.
