Israeli spy agency Mossad has published details about an alleged Iranian official it claims is responsible for leading a unit promoting antisemitic attacks around the world, including in Australia. Mossad named the man as "Sardar Amar", and alleged he led the so-called 11,000 Brigade within the Quds Force — the clandestine wing of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which Australia is preparing to list as a terrorist organisation. It said the group had been responsible for fuelling "terror without Iranian fingerprints" by recruiting foreigners to undertake dozens of attacks overseas, singling out Australia, Germany and Greece as examples of where such activity had been "thwarted." "For years, the Iranian regime has viewed terrorism as a tool to exact a price from Israel by harming innocent people worldwide, without paying military, diplomatic, or economic costs," a statement from Mossad distributed by the Israeli Prime Minister's Office said. "Under this logic, the terrorist bodies operate while maintaining plausible deniability and a separation between the violent activity and Iran. "The ongoing international campaign against Iranian terrorism denies Iran its room for plausible deniability, removes its immunity and exacts a heavy price from it in the international political arena." In August Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and ASIO chief Mike Burgess revealed at least two attacks targeting Australia's Jewish community had been directed by Iran, but conducted by third parties. Iran's ambassador to Australia, Ahmad Sadeghi was expelled by the Australian government in protest. The Israeli government took credit for Australia's stance, saying it had effectively been shamed into acting on antisemitism running rampant across the country. That argument was rejected by the Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke, labelling it "complete nonsense". On Sunday, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office refused to specify whether the intelligence gathered by Mossad had been passed on to ASIO prior to Mr Albanese and Mr Burgess revealing the plot. "I'm not going to discuss any private conversations between Israeli intelligence and the Australian intelligence," spokesperson Shosh Badrosian told the ABC. "We know that Iran has been trying to promote antisemitism around the world. This is what they have been trying to do." The Persian word "Sardar" roughly translates to leader and is both a common male name in Iran and often used in the IRGC to denote a senior rank, most closely matching a general. Mossad did not reveal any information about the man's identity other than his name and position within the IRGC, along with an undated grainy photo of a man and a graphic depicting commander hierarchy. The attacks in Australia linked to the Iran plot were the firebombing of Melbourne's Adass Israel Synagogue in December 2024 and Sydney's Lewis' Continental Kitchen in October of the same year. At the time of the announcement by the prime minister and ASIO's director-general, the foiled Dural caravan incident was not believed to be linked to Iranian activity. In July, German authorities hauled in the Iranian ambassador in Berlin for a formal reprimand, after a Danish man was arrested and charged with allegedly spying on Jews on behalf of Iranian intelligence agencies.

Foolish Take Another institutional investor is loading up on shares of Lam Research -- that's the takeaway from Stanley-Laman's purchase of $8.8 million worth of the semiconductor giant. Shares of Lam Research are up 112% year-to-date, as the semiconductor sector continues to ramp higher thanks to the artificial intelligence (AI) revolution. Indeed, just last week, Lam Research released its third-quarter earnings results (for the three months ending on September 28, 2025), which beat analyst expectations due to stronger-than-expected revenue and net income. What's more, Stanley-Laman's significant purchase lends strength to the argument that deep-pocketed market participants believe the AI revolution will continue for some time to come -- and that the continued strength of the AI sector will benefit fabrication equipment makers like Lam Research. To sum up, retail investors may want to give Lam Research a closer look. The company's important role within the semiconductor sector, along with its recent earnings beat and ongoing outperformance of the S&P 500 make it a stock worth considering right now.
