Fascinating family photographs and old snap of The Cottage, Rosemount unearthed

Robert decided to share the artefacts with the ‘Journal’ after uncovering them as he researched his family’s strong Derry connections. His grandparents once lived in the property at the top of Creggan Road before it was purchased as a Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) barracks. "My grandfather was Jacob Hutchinson and his wife Sara, whose maiden name was Watson, lived in what was called The Cottage, Rosemount. "He had four sons, Richard, Samuel, William, and my father Robert,” he explains. Jacob was the manager of Stevenson's bakery, which once stood opposite Abbey Street where the William Street car park is located today. "He was married in 1901 and before he was married he lived on Cottage Row and my granny who was a Watson lived on Foyle Road,” adds Robert. After they wed the couple moved into The Cottage. The official address was at 18.2 Creggan Road. “I looked in the census and there was a pub next door to it. That's all gone. I remember going up to see it when it was no longer a police station, before they knocked it down. “When he gave up Stevenson's bakery he went on to be a representative of Carr's of Carlisle, the biscuit makers. Then, when partition came, I think the job was split and he was shifted to Belfast.” Robert was given the photograph of the building by an aunt before she died. He also shared photographs of his granda Jacob and his granny Sara. Sadly Sara died of cancer in 1921 aged just 51. Another cherished photograph is one of his father and namesake Robert senior alongside his friends in the Christ Church Wolf Cub pack that he believes dates from around the end of World War One. "He looks about ten. My father was born in 1908 so I think this photograph is from around 1918,” says Robert. Mr. Hutchinson was born in Belfast but moved to the Coleraine and Ballymoney areas in the 1970s.

‘Lied for decades’: Texas sues Tylenol maker for withholding details of link to autism

The state of Texas is suing the makers of Tylenol for withholding information the drug maker had about the product’s possible links to autism, links that long had been known by the company. President Donald Trump earlier advised pregnant women not to take Tylenol because of the possible side effect – autism for the new child. And Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has been working on the problem. Now a report from USA today confirmed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced the legal action against Kenvue, which makes the over-the-counter painkiller. The claim is that the company failed to warn consumers about the risks involved when a pregnant woman takes the drug. Paxton, in a statement, suggested the makers were “deceptively marketing Tylenol to pregnant mothers despite knowing that early exposure to acetaminophen, Tylenol’s only active ingredient, leads to a significantly increased risk of autism and other disorders.” He charged, “These corporations lied for decades, knowingly endangering millions to line their pockets. Additionally, seeing that the day of reckoning was coming, Johnson & Johnson attempted to escape responsibility by illegally offloading their liability onto a different company. By holding Big Pharma accountable for poisoning our people, we will help Make America Healthy Again” BREAKING: I’m suing Big Pharma manufacturers for deceptively marketing Tylenol to pregnant mothers despite the known dangers to unborn children. NO TYLENOL. Make America Healthy Again! pic.twitter.com/Lz1uKN9MsO — Rep. Nancy Mace (@RepNancyMace) October 28, 2025 According to a report at Courthousenews, the lawsuit comes just a month after the Trump administration linked autism to mothers taking Tylenol, which uses acetaminophen as its active ingredient. The Paxton complaint was filed in Panola County district court. “The state claims scientific evidence shows use of Tylenol during pregnancy and in early childhood can cause conditions like autism and ADHD and that Kenvue and Johnson & Johnson knowingly covered up the risks,” the report said.

The5ers Review

The5ers Ratings at a Glance The5ers was established in 2016 by experienced, active traders and is one of the most reputable prop firms. The company provides experienced traders with access to the firm’s capital when trading. This feature allows traders to trade with more capital than they have access to on their own. The5ers provides the most experienced investors with access to up to 1:100 leverage. The5ers allows qualified traders to access more capital when trading the forex, indices, and metal market using the company’s private trading fund. This process allows the trader to avoid the most common issue that traders run into when trying to enter the market — the need to choose between withdrawing profits or growing their accounts. At The5ers they can both withdraw and yet get more funds to manage. The5ers solves this problem by funding your account with real money, allowing you to trade and see profits using the company’s margin. In exchange, The5ers takes a portion of any profits you earn. If the idea of using a company’s private funds to trade and attempt to make money sounds too good to be true, know that you’ll already need to have a profitable forex strategy to implement to qualify for a 5ers account. Before you can get started, you’ll need to pay a one-time fee to access an evaluation program, which will set you up with a series of trading goals. If you meet your trading goals, you’ll gain access to increased funds, allowing you to take home more profits as long as you continue to produce the same results. The5ers offers a number of funding programs, and the best program for you might vary depending on your skill level as a trader and your unique trading strategy. Bootcamp Program The5ers Bootcamp Program is the only low-cost entry program in the industry that traders can use as an entry point to get funded. If you’re experienced or a beginner in trading and you think you’re ready to get funded, the Bootcamp Program can be an excellent way to start your journey. Here’s how it works. Apply for your account and pay a small fee: To gain access to the Bootcamp Program, you’ll need to apply and pay a portion of the funding fee. To enroll, your upfront fee will range between 95 and 225 euros depending on whether you’ll be starting with $100,000 or $250,000, and only if you pass you'll need to pay the rest. It's also the lowest price in the industry for a $100K funded account and a $250K funded account Complete the funding challenges: Once your account is open, you’ll have full access to a demo trading account to show your skills. Before you get access to real funding and start seeing profits, you’ll need to prove that you’ve got a viable strategy by completing a 3-steps challenge. If you meet all your targets without hitting the maximum losses per level in 12 months, you will qualify to open a funded account. To meet these targets, you’ll need to use a stop-loss order on all orders placed. Earn a full account: After you hit your profit targets, you’ll begin seeing real profits and take a cut off your trades. The profit split and account balance increase every 5% target according to the scaling plan up to $4M. Investors can realize up to 100% of the profits from each trade with less risk, as they’re using The5ers’s capital to exchange currencies. Instant Funding Instant Funding accounts provide you with instant access to a funded capital trading account. Initial account balances range from $5,000 to $20,000 depending on the account type you apply for as well as your trading qualifications. All accounts can grow up to $4M Like the Bootcamp Program, you’ll need to meet a series of profit goals to retain access to your trading capital. You cannot place just any type of order, and the profits that you earn will need to be within the bounds of the Instant Funding’s account restrictions. Be sure to review these restrictions before opening your account. As your profits build over time, you’ll access up to 100% of your earnings with fast withdrawals. The most important thing to remember about The5ers is that the platform is designed to appeal to regular forex traders who are already familiar with the market. While anyone can apply for funding, you’ll likely want to do so after brushing up on some of the most common forex strategies. The5ers is also not suitable for long-term investors looking for a platform to help them save towards a goal like retirement. High Stakes Program The5ers High Stakes is an exciting 2-step program designed to test the trading skills of passionate traders willing to achieve a funded account with the industry’s most significant profit split and fastest growth scale. Given the time limit provided, short-term, intraday, and scalpers will find their best opportunity in this program. Some features of the High-Stakes Program include: Highest split in the industry – up to 100%Monthly salary availableLargest DDHigh leverageBetter entry price in the industryReward from the 1st stage The5ers offers a number of options that you can use to get in contact with customer service, no matter where you’re located. By phone: If you’re located in the United States, you can get in touch with The5ers customer service team by calling (929) 955-5595. While customer service is internationally accessible, which can create time zone problems for some customers, customer service professionals are available over the phone between the hours of 2 a.m. and 12 p.m. EST.Via email: If you don’t live within a time zone when it’s convenient to call, you can also contact customer service by email by sending a message to help@the5ers.com.Live chat: The5ers also supports a live chat function on its website, which is monitored 24/7. The company offers a wealth of options to get the help you need on your schedule. The5ers is not a forex broker and it does not accept any capital on behalf of investors. While the company uses proprietary information to keep its own funds secure, a major benefit of trading with the assistance of The5ers is that your money is not at risk. It also uses top-of-the-line encryption to protect the personal information you need to submit when opening an account, like your name and address. The5ers is not a broker and it does not earn money on your trades by collecting a commission on currency movements. Instead, you’ll pay a one-time participation fee to access a demo account or instant access funding to get you started on proving your trading strategy. After meeting your profit goals, you’ll continue to take home a higher percentage of your profits and access more trading capital by performing as a profitable trader. The amount that you’ll pay to begin with The5ers will vary depending on the type of account you select. The most affordable access option, the $100,000 Bootcamp option, will cost about $95 to begin with a demo trading account. The most expensive choice, $40,000 Instant Funding, costs around $800 at the time of publication but does not require a demo account trial period. The5ers offers its own licensed MetaTrader 5 to its users on PC, Web, and mobile versions. The5ers does offer a series of unique features that make it user-friendly, including the following. Global access: The5ers is not restricted by location, and traders from nearly any country in the world may apply for funding. As the company is a prop trading firm and not a broker, United States citizens may also apply.Clearly defined targets: No matter which funding program you select, The5ers is clear with its target profit requirements and the limitations on the types of orders you can place. This feature allows potential traders to align their trading strategy with the requirements before paying the participation fee.A wealth of resources: In addition to funding access, The5ers offers you access to tools you can use to enhance your performance even further. In particular, the community feature can help you connect with other successful traders to share tips. Overall, The5ers is a strong choice for intermediate and advanced traders to access more funds to trade. Such traders will find an affordable way to prove what they know with The5ers’s Bootcamp Program. For those willing to pay a higher rate, the Instant Funding access option can be a quick route to funding without the hassle of a demo account. And for traders who like to take risks, The5ers high stakes will be great for them. If this is your first foray into the world of trading, you may want to begin by developing your strategy using a free demo account before paying to take The 5ers’s test. The5ers vs. Competitors The5ers can be a strong option for those exploring funded trading for the first time thanks to its lower initial costs as well as a program that suits every trading style and very high reliability. Competing prop trading firms like The Trading Pit and FundedNext can also provide you with advanced access to leveraged forex trading. Frequently Asked Questions

Saints to start Tyler Shough in Week 9

The New Orleans Saints are making a change under center, installing rookie Tyler Shough as the new starter and benching Spencer Rattler, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Rattler won a training camp battle for the Saints’ starting quarterback gig, but the team is 1-7 in his eight starts. Statistically, Rattler himself has not been horrible relative to some of the league’s other starters, but New Orleans ranks 29th in points scored and 27th in total yardage this year. Shough, 26, was a second-round pick (No. 46 overall) in April’s draft who was widely seen as the Saints’ successor to Derek Carr. His age and draft profile as an NFL-ready quarterback raised expectations that he would start right away in New Orleans, but new head coach Kellen Moore made it clear in the spring that there would be a true competition in the preseason. In the interim, however, Shough leveraged his draft status, the Saints’ quarterback situation, and new league contract precedent into a fully-guaranteed rookie deal, making it clear that he would get a shot at the starting job sooner than later. Rattler was expected to have a long leash at the beginning of the season, but it only extended out to eight starts. Rattler was benched for Shough in Week 8, and though the rookie did not dazzle in his first extended regular-season action, he did enough to earn Moore’s confidence moving forward. Expectations will still be low for the rest of the season, as the rest of the Saints' offensive line has struggled this season and won’t make Shough’s first start a walk in the park. Neither will a ferocious Rams defense that ranks second in the league with 26 sacks. But any progress Shough can make this year will give New Orleans a better idea if they’ve found a long-term starter or should focus on the 2026 draft class.

Greene King launches cut-price pub stays to grab share of winter getaway market

One of the UK’s biggest pub chains has made a move to capture the winter short break market by rolling out a string of seasonal deals across its pubs-with-rooms. Greene King Inns, which runs more than 100 historic pubs with on-site accommodation, is offering cut-price stays throughout autumn and winter — including Sunday nights for £50, up to 15% off longer stays, and 20% off food for direct bookings. The deals come as demand grows for lower-cost weekend breaks and easy access to festive events like firework displays, Christmas light switch-ons and local markets. Many of the pubs are in town centres or on village greens, putting guests just steps away from the action. A spokesperson for the company said the offers were about encouraging people to “stay INN the middle of it all” this season. Why the pub is becoming a go-to place to stay Pub accommodation has quietly become a more popular alternative to budget hotels in recent years — especially in places where chain hotels are either fully booked or miles from the centre. Greene King Inns has properties across the country, with locations in historic market towns, suburbs, rural villages and seaside spots. Most come with a restaurant and bar attached, meaning guests don’t need to travel elsewhere to eat or drink — a major plus for those arriving by train or hoping to avoid taxis. The rooms themselves are typically simple and comfortable, with prices that undercut many traditional hotels, especially on short notice. Current deals on offer Greene King’s seasonal campaign includes: Sweater Weather Weekends – 15% off Thursday to Sunday stays until 31 October . See participating locations Lazy Sundays – Sunday night stays for £50 at selected inns Find a deal Stay Longer, Pay Less – Save 10% on stays of 2–4 nights or 15% on stays of 5+ nights Offer info here Book Direct Bonus – 20% off food at the on-site pub or restaurant Book direct here Each deal is subject to availability and blackout dates apply, but the majority of locations are taking bookings now for stays through to the new year. Pub stays offer front-row access to local events With Bonfire Night displays and Christmas markets now in full planning mode across the country, accommodation in the centre of town can book up fast — especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Greene King’s pub locations often sit at the heart of those communities, meaning guests are within walking distance of the main events. The group’s current offers are being pitched as a way to “not just visit the festivities, but live them from your doorstep.”

Security breach ahead of Vice-President’s visit to Town Hall in Coimbatore

In a security breach, two men managed to break police bandobust and ride a two-wheeler through a barricaded stretch of Big Bazaar Street at Town Hall in Coimbatore, minutes before the scheduled arrival of Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan on Tuesday. Commotion prevailed as the incident took place at 2.30 p.m. when the motorcade of the Vice-President was scheduled to leave for the venue from Circuit House, around 1 km away. The police said the two men, who breached security from the Victoria Hall (Town Hall) junction side, managed to ride through the barricaded road for about 200 metres. They fell from the vehicle near St. Michael’s Cathedral and ran away. BJP supporters, who were standing behind barricades on the opposite side of the Corporation office, stepped on to the road and raised slogans. “The police could not stop two men from entering a ‘high security’ area created for the Vice-President. How will they ensure the safety of the public,” a BJP supporter asked. The arrival of the Vice-President was delayed for 30 minutes due to the incident. He reached the venue at 3 p.m. and garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, in the presence of BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran and Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan. He then took a stroll through the barricaded road and interacted with the public and BJP workers. The police arrested the rider of the two-wheeler, Ashik of Ukkadam, and were on the lookout for pillion rider Anish Rahman, who had previously been booked in drug peddling cases. The police claimed the two persons were under the influence of alcohol when they rode the two-wheeler.

New Orleans Saints to start rookie QB Tyler Shough on Sunday

Rattler started the first eight games of this season and put up 1,450 yards passing and eight touchdowns to four interceptions. He also had 155 yards rushing, but the Saints were a mere 1-6 on the season. Looking for any sort of spark, the team will now move to Shough as it looks to finish the season on any sort of a positive note. Shough played seven seasons of college football with stops at Oregon, Texas Tech and Louisville. He played his final season with the Cardinals in 2024, throwing for 3,195 yards and 23 touchdowns to six interceptions. The two quarterbacks were in a battle for the starting job all preseason before Rattler finally won out. But given the results, it’s more than time to let the rookie show what he can do. Over the past two seasons, the Saints went 1-14 in games that he played in. Their lone win came against Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants a month ago. “It’s big, you know. You got to weather the storm. You know, just keep going, keep having the same process. The outcome will take care of itself,” said Rattler following his lone NFL win. “You know, the past is the past. Now we’re just looking toward the future. Keep stacking wins, keep some momentum going, and try to get Ws every week.” This preseason, Shough finished 36-of-54 passing for 333 yards and one touchdown with one interception. He also had 23 yards rushing and another touchdown on the ground. He’ll make his first career NFL start on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.

Saints More Likely To Trade Rashid Shaheed ‘If Compensation Is Right’

“We’ve got the New Orleans sitting a collection of wide receivers in which I think at least one will be dealt and if I had to bet I would say Rashid Shaheed is the guy that interests most team for his speed and his talent and the guy whose contract is up after this year who the Saints, I think, would be most willing to part with if the compensation is fair and right,” Schefter said. Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed have both come up regularly as a potential trade targets for teams around the league. Of the two, Schefter considers Shaheed to be the most likely to be traded if compensation is fair because he’s on an expiring contract. Schefter mentioned that the three teams that appears to be the most aggressive in landing a receiver right now are the Steelers, Bill and Broncos. Shaheed, 27, went undrafted back in 2022 out of Weber State, where he was a four-time All-American as a kick returner. He caught on with the Saints and scored a 44-yard rushing touchdown in his NFL debut on his first carry. He then scored on a 54-yard touchdown pass on his first career reception. Shaheed was tendered by the Saints as an exclusive rights-free agent before signing a new extension in lieu of a restricted free agent tender. He’s due $4.2 million in 2025 and is set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2026. In 2025, Shaheed has appeared in seven games for the Saints and caught 39 passes on 57 targets for 431 yards and two touchdowns.

Asset Reality and Operation Shamrock to challenge crypto scammers with new infrastructure

Against the backdrop of new international guidance on improving asset recovery from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), together they will work to close the enforcement gap in combating crypto crime and to accelerate the return of stolen funds to victims and wider society. Asset recovery has long been a global problem for law enforcement. FATF, the international standard-setting body, states that “countries intercept and recover less than one per cent of global illicit financial flows.” The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime estimates these flows to be between $4-$6 trillion per year. Headlines featuring record-breaking seizures around the world, linked to modern slavery-based scam compounds across Southeast Asia, underscore a troubling truth: the criminal economy has evolved, and law enforcement is under pressure to keep up. With billions in crypto-linked criminal proceeds left unrecovered every year, and a global victim count rising daily, this alliance marks a critical step toward equipping agencies with tools, training, and infrastructure. “This isn’t just about crypto - it’s about systemic change,” said Aidan Larkin, co-founder and CEO of Asset Reality. “We’ve reached a moment where billion-dollar seizures are being triggered by individual victim reports. Too often victims’ assets are not recovered as local law enforcement doesn’t have the tools or training, or they rely on patchwork solutions that load the agency with risk. This alliance is going to change that.” A Global Emergency According to the latest report by Chainalysis, more than $75 billion in crypto is estimated to be linked to criminal or suspicious activity globally - and that’s only what’s been identified. “Pig butchering” scams, a blend of online fraud and human trafficking, have affected hundreds of thousands worldwide. These operations are industrial in scale. In a recent reported case involving the Prince Group, which has been linked to a $15bn seizure, two of the compounds alone ran over 76,000 fake social media accounts using trafficked labor. The crypto criminal ecosystem now mirrors state-level infrastructure, with networks stretching across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and beyond. “Chinese organized crime syndicates operating from Southeast Asia have weaponized artificial intelligence and expanded their operations globally,” said Erin West, Founder of Operation Shamrock. “This technological evolution threatens to scale their operations from thousands to millions of simultaneous victims. We need to support law enforcement to keep pace.” The Strategic Alliance Asset Reality and Operation Shamrock are aligning infrastructure with front-line experience to: Deliver monthly free crypto seizure training to U.S. and international law enforcement through Operation Shamrock’s Crypto Coalition network of 2,400+ active law enforcement professionals Develop standardized playbooks for intake, seizure, and investigation workflows at the regional, state, and local levels Launch a global advocacy initiative to make victim restitution a core success metric for crypto enforcement “We’re building the connective tissue between victims, investigators, prosecutors, and tools,” said West. “This alliance gives us global reach and tangible power to support the boots on the ground.” “Early intervention works,” said Larkin. “If we empower local agencies with the right playbook and tools, we can disrupt billion-dollar networks - before the funds vanish.” Asset Reality, trusted by the Federal, State & Local agencies and regulators around the world, will anchor the technical and custodial infrastructure. Operation Shamrock will drive education, advocacy, and community outreach across the U.S. and globally. “This is what a 21st-century crime-fighting model looks like - distributed, data-driven, and collaborative,” said West. “We can’t wait any longer.”
