Mitchell Robinson Injury Update: Major Status Upgrade for Knicks Starting Center Emerges Ahead of Bulls Game (Oct. 31)

The New York Knicks have received an injury boost ahead of Friday’s game against the Chicago Bulls, as their starting center, Mitchell Robinson, is no longer definitively out. Robinson is one of the team's longest-tenured players, having been with the team since being drafted at No. 36 in 2018.He has faced several injury setbacks over the last two seasons, playing only 48 games since 2023. Robinson was fit for the 2025 playoffs but missed the Knicks’ season opener with an ankle injury. Fans were left wondering about his status as the team shut him down after its third preseason game. After missing the first four matchups of 2025-26, he could return to the court on Friday as his status against the Bulls has been upgraded to questionable.According to Knicks reporter Stefan Bondy, Robinson was a full participant at Thursday’s team practice. If he plays, it wouldn't be surprising if he is on a minutes restriction.Stefan Bondy @SbondyNBALINKMitchell will be a game time decision tomorrow, Mike Brown saysWhen healthy, Robinson is capable of having a solid impact on both ends of the floor for New York. His efficient shot-making in the paint, effort on the glass, and shot-blocking ability are qualities the team appreciates.Miles McBride is also likely to play Friday’s game after missing the Knicks’ last two. With these two back on the team sheet, New York will be back at full strength for the first time in the 2025-26 season. The team started the campaign well with back-to-back wins against the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics. Since then, it has lost two straight to the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks.Through four games, Jalen Brunson has been the Knicks’ leader on offense, averaging 31.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. Mikal Bridges has also been solid, recording 18.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists.Meanwhile, Towns is off to a slow start, but is still averaging a double-double with 17.0 points and 13.5 rebounds per game.Where to watch the game between the New York Knicks and the Chicago Bulls?Jalen Brunson and Co. will take on the Chicago Bulls at the United Center on Friday, Oct. 31. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca reveals how Cole Palmer reacted after he told the attacker ‘in one week, you’ll be back’ from injury

Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca has revealed the reaction of star midfielder Cole Palmer to a comment he made about his return from injury. The England international is out injured, having been struggling with a groin problem since the start of the 2025-26 season. Maresca spoke at his traditional pre-match press conference ahead of his side's meeting with Tottenham Hotspur this weekend. The former Leicester City boss provided an update on injured talisman Palmer, admitting that there is no timeline for his return to action. "I just met him in the canteen for breakfast and I said to him, in one week 'you will be back' and he was laughing. We are still waiting", he said (via football.london). Chelsea have been without their 23-year-old star Cole Palmer for majority of the season thus far due to a persistent groin problem. He has appeared only four times this season, completing 90 minutes in only half of those appearances. The former Manchester City man has scored two goals, one each in the league and UEFA Champions League. Palmer's most recent setback took place as the Blues lost to Manchester United at Old Trafford back in September, as he played for just 21 minutes before he had to come off. He has missed eight games since then, and the timeline for his recovery remains yet to be ascertained due to the nature of his injury. Chelsea boss clarifies Liam Delap comments Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca has clarified that his comments on Liam Delap in the aftermath of his sending off against Wolves may have been taken out of context. The 22-year-old received a red card after coming on for his first appearance for the Blues since August, instantly earning the wrath of the man on the sidelines. Maresca told reporters on Friday that some of his context was lost in translation when he spoke about the young striker after the Wolves game. He pointed out that he knows the Englishman better than most of his other players, and is aware of the quality he will bring to the squad. "I'm not from England, so sometimes when I try to translate from Italian to English, it's a bit different. When Liam is on the pitch, he is more focused to try his battle with the defender. That's what I was trying to say. There are three players in this team that I know better than the rest, Lavia, Palmer and Delap because I knew them from City U21s. I know Liam will be a fantastic player for us, but there are some things he can improve", he said (via football.london).Liam Delap joined Chelsea for £30 million after a fine season with Ipswich Town and helped them to win the FIFA Club World Cup in July. He suffered a serious hamstring injury in August and has only returned to action, but will now miss the game against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend through suspension.

Tilak Varma completes stunning boundary catch as Travis Head falls for 28 in AUS vs IND 2025 2nd T20I [Watch]

Team India batter Tilak Varma took an outstanding catch on the boundary line in the second T20I against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Friday, October 30. Tilak covered significant ground and briefly went beyond the boundary line before stepping back in to hold on to the catch. The dismissal came in the fifth over of the innings as Suryakumar Yadav decided to bring in leg-spinner Varun Chakravarthy, given Australia were running away with the game. With Travis Head belting one down the ground, Tilak ran to his left and grabbed the ball. But realizing that he was going over the rope, the youngster tossed it up and returned into the field of play to catch the ball again. The third umpire ruled it out after checking it thoroughly.Watch the video of the dismissal here: View this post on Instagram Instagram PostThe wicket off the first over sent down by Chakravarthy helped the Men in Blue break the opening partnership of 51 runs between Head and captain Mitchell Marsh. Mitchell Marsh top-scored for Australia, adding 46 off 25 deliveries, while Josh Inglis (20) and Mitch Owen (14) also chipped in with small contributions. The hosts eventually crossed the line with four wickets to spare, taking a 1-0 lead in the T20I series.

WWE Rumor Roundup: Huge new contract given to Chelsea Green, Concern surrounding Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed (31st October, 2025)

On October 31st, 2025, we bring you the Friday edition of the WWE Rumor Roundup. It's your one-stop shop for finding out the biggest WWE rumors from the last few days.In today's edition, we have news about a big contract given to Chelsea Green as her deal was set to expire, backstage concern surrounding Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, and a rumored return to RAW for Santos Escobar that has raised some eyebrows, as well as huge interest in re-signing a current Champion to a WWE contract.Without dragging it much further, let's jump right into the big rumors from the last few days:#4. Chelsea Green's WWE future has been secured with a huge new dealA backstage shot from the revived SNME edition (Picture Courtesy: WWE.com)Chelsea Green has been a massive assett to the sports entertainment juggernaut, filling the role of a comedic relief character who also has her big moments. The first Women's United States Champion in history, it's something that can never be taken away from her.It seems like there is appreciation for Chelsea Green and her work backstage, because a report from Fightful Select has revealed that she has signed a new contract with the company in a deal that was worked out in January 2025. This was quite some time before her deal expired, and her new contract will see her be a part of WWE until 2030.This is huge news as it shows the confidence that those in WWE have in Chelsea Green. She is now set to be a big player for the next half a decade at the very least.#3. Recent backstage concern over Bronson Reed & Bron BreakkerA still from SummerSlam 2025 (Pic Courtesy: WWE.com)Bronson Reed & Bron Breakker kicked Seth Rollins out of The Vision right after Crown Jewel 2025, effectively writing him off television for the foreseeable future. Bronson Reed & Bron Breakker would then be removed from the battle royal to determine the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. It was explained on television that Adam Pearce was "getting back" at The Vision for talking down to him earlier in the night, but in reality, the reason why they were removed from the battle royal was different. According to TC of WrestleVotes, the actual reason why they were removed is that there was backstage concern that the crowd would treat Reed and Breakker like babyfaces after attacking Seth Rollins:"A source I spoke with this week told me there has been internal concern that Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed would receive babyface fan reactions following their turn on Seth Rollins, which played into the decision to exclude them from the Battle Royal on #WWERaw last week."Whatever it might be, it's clear that the company has big plans for Breakker and Reed, with many pegging them both as future World Champions and main event superstars.#2. The Santos Escobar return reports and things not coming to fruitionEscobar was reportedly slated for a RAW return (Pic Courtesy: WWE.com)Santos Escobar was involved in a huge moment recently, as it was reported on the Wrestling Observer Radio that he had declined an offer for a new contract and was AEW-bound. However, things took a quick turn, and he ended up signing a deal with the Stamford-based promotion again, meaning that he will be around for a few more years at the very least. It was then reported by PWInsider that Escobar was slated for a return to television on the 27th October episode of RAW. That didn't materialize, as there was no sign of him anywhere on the show. This has raised some eyebrows, as it could have been a false signal given by a source within the company. Either that, or plans changed, and we could be seeing Escobar back on television in the near future.Either way, with a new contract signed, it's hard to imagine him being utilized the same way he was before the deal was made.#1. Huge interest in securing Dragon Lee's future View this post on Instagram Instagram PostDragon Lee was recently crowned one-half of the new World Tag Team Champions along with the legendary AJ Styles. This was a huge boost for Dragon Lee's career, as it seemed like he was in a bit of a creative limbo throughout 2025.However, it seems like there is genuine recognition of what he brings to the table, and Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that the sports entertainment giant wants Dragon Lee secured to a new deal. As of now, there are no reports on when his WWE contract expires, but one can only speculate that the move to make him Tag Team Champion may have had to do with the company wanting him to sign a new deal.As of now, this is pure speculation, but expect to hear news about Dragon Lee putting pen to paper on a new deal sooner rather than later.

Power Division announces large-scale rollout of smart meters across Pakistan

The Ministry of Energy (Power Division) on Friday announced the large-scale rollout of smart meters across electricity distribution companies (Discos) in the country, which it described as a “major step” towards improving customer service and operational efficiency. According to the spokesperson of the Power Division, Zafaryab Khan, metering plays a vital role as the key interface between the customer and the service provider. “In line with the ministry’s declaration of 2025-26 as the Year of Customer Service Improvement, Discos have embarked on a comprehensive digitalisation drive to modernise their infrastructure,” said a statement by the Power Division. “This initiative aims to ensure real-time data availability, transparency, and enhanced customer experience.” Recognising that the pricing of smart meters was a major impediment in this transformation, the Power Division actively intervened to rationalise costs, said the statement, adding that out of nearly 38 million electricity consumers nationwide, around 80 per cent are single-phase users. The statement pointed out that until recently, the cost of a single-phase smart meter was around Rs20,000, which is “significantly higher than international benchmarks”. “Through strategic interventions, open and transparent procurement, and continuous monitoring, the price has now been reduced to approximately Rs15,000,” the Division said. “This intervention alone will result in an estimated annual national saving of around Rs25 billion, considering 5m meter replacements per annum,” the statement quoted the spokesperson as saying. “The reduced meter cost will also ease the financial burden on consumers applying for smart meters, making advanced technology more affordable and accessible. It is further anticipated that through upcoming international competitive bidding processes, the prices will decline even further.” According to the division, this intervention will ensure “significant improvement” in the meter reading process because human involvement will be minimal. “Automated and remote readings will not only enhance accuracy but also build consumer trust in the billing system,” the statement detailed. “The elimination of manual readings will address long-standing concerns about faulty or disputed readings, fostering a more transparent and reliable relationship between consumers and their respective Discos”. Once deployed, according to the division, smart meters will enable consumers to monitor their electricity usage in real time through mobile applications equipped with modern features. “This will empower consumers to better control their energy consumption and manage their electricity costs.” Among the benefits for consumers, the division listed the following: real-time monitoring of electricity usage, greater control over energy consumption and billing, accurate, tamper-proof meter readings, and future enablement of prepaid metering services On the other hand, the division said the benefits for Discos would include remote meter reading and billing accuracy, faster billing and complaint resolution, enhanced visibility and control of the power network, real-time outage detection and quicker fault restoration, as well as improved safety and operational management “This initiative marks a significant milestone in the Power Division’s continued efforts to digitalise Pakistan’s power sector and provide efficient, transparent, and customer-centric electricity services,” the statement added. “It is a key step toward the digitalisation of the power distribution system, which remains a crucial part of the ongoing power sector reform agenda of the Government of Pakistan.” Last year, while chairing a review meeting on the performance of Discos, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had termed overbilling by power utility companies as “unacceptable” and had called for the installation of smart meters to measure electricity use accurately. According to the PM, these meters would ensure transparency in the billing system.

How Trump Flexed US Missile Power at China

The United States showcased two advanced missiles, considered capable of countering China’s evolving military threat, during President Donald Trump’s visit to a Japan-homeported aircraft carrier, a key U.S. frontline unit in the western Pacific. The U.S. Seventh Fleet confirmed to Newsweek that both the Long Range Anti-Ship Missile, or LRASM, and the AIM-174B air-to-air missile were on display on Tuesday during a presidential visit aboard USS George Washington at Yokosuka naval base. The Chinese Foreign Ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Why It Matters The U.S. views Japan as a crucial ally under its island chain strategy, which seeks to project military power and deterrence amid potential Chinese aggression in the South China Sea and over Taiwan by forming three defensive lines across the western Pacific. Facing China‘s fast-growing navy, which operates over 370 vessels—making it the world’s largest by hull count—the U.S. military has fielded the LRASM, a precision-guided missile with a range of more than 230 miles, on its aircraft to sink enemy ships. The U.S. Navy has equipped its Japan-based fighter jets with the AIM-174B, the air-launched variant of the Standard Missile-6, which has a range of 290 miles, to enhance the protection of its aircraft carriers amid China’s buildup of ship-sinking capabilities. United States President Donald Trump rides an aircraft elevator aboard the aircraft carrier USS George Washington during a presidential visit while moored pierside at Yokosuka naval base in Japan on October 28, 2025. What To Know During his visit aboard the George Washington, Trump was seen riding an aircraft elevator and standing between a pair of F-35C stealth fighter jets and two missiles, according to a U.S. Navy photo and footage released by a White House official. Military observers identified the missiles as the LRASM and the AIM-174B, displayed on Trump’s right and left sides, respectively. While the F-35C jet is being integrated with the LRASM, it remains unclear whether the aircraft can carry the AIM-174B. LISTEN as President Trump arrives on the USS George Washington 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/bOcsUn5rML— Margo Martin (@MargoMartin47) October 28, 2025 The George Washington also deploys with F/A-18E/F jets, which have been confirmed capable of carrying the AIM-174B. All fighter jets assigned to the aircraft carrier are stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni in Japan when not deployed at sea. Two days after hosting Trump, the George Washington departed Yokosuka naval base, with its flight deck seen parked with multiple aircraft. Stars and Stripes reported that the aircraft carrier, which returned to its home port on October 18, resumed its patrol. The aircraft carrier was first deployed on September 30 for routine operations in the Philippine Sea, the U.S. Seventh Fleet previously told Newsweek, before what Stars and Stripes described as an “abrupt and unusual” return to Japan ahead of Trump’s visit. 原子力空母 「ジョージ・ワシントン (USS George Washington)」が横須賀基地を出港しました。 pic.twitter.com/EjAg3kopAp— ⚓︎アルザス⚓︎ (@Alsace_class) October 30, 2025 Another U.S. aircraft carrier, USS Nimitz, was deployed in the South China Sea, where a fighter jet and a helicopter assigned to it recently went down. All five crew members were recovered, with Trump suggesting “bad fuel” was the cause of both incidents. What People Are Saying President Donald Trump said during his visit aboard USS George Washington on Tuesday: “For two and a half centuries, America’s Navy is preserved the vision of our first commander-in-chief who gave this ship its storied name, its righteous soul, and its timeless model. ‘First in war, first in peace.’ Very famous phrase, George Washington. After 250 years, that is exactly what our country is today.” The U.S. Navy wrote in a photo caption on Tuesday: “George Washington is the U.S. Navy’s premier forward-deployed aircraft carrier, a long-standing symbol of the United States‘ commitment to maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific region, while operating alongside allies and partners across the U.S. Navy’s largest numbered fleet.” What Happens Next It remains unclear whether the U.S. Navy will conduct a dual aircraft carrier operation when both the George Washington and the Nimitz are deployed in the western Pacific.

Red Sox Insider Tabs Kyle Schwarber as Masataka Yoshida Replacement

The Boston Red Sox are looking at every option to improve their roster for next season after being eliminated from the playoffs in the American League Wild Card Series. Losing in the wild card round is a tough pill to swallow as it is for the Red Sox. Losing in the wild card round to the New York Yankees is even more frustrating. Boston knows it needs to improve the roster in multiple ways. Pitching depth behind Garrett Crochet is a vital part of the offseason, but the Red Sox also need to improve their offense. That’s one reason why Jen McCaffrey believes Boston could use Kyle Schwarber as an upgrade at the designated hitter spot. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – OCTOBER 08: Kyle Schwarber #12 of the Philadelphia Phillies reacts after hitting a solo home run against the Los Angeles Dodgers during the fourth inning in game three of the National League Division Series at Dodger Stadium on October 08, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Harry How/Getty Images) “Schwarber has spent a majority of the last couple years DHing, but for good reason,” McCaffrey wrote for The Athletic. “He led the National League with 56 homers in 2025 and hasn’t hit fewer than 38 in each of the last four years. If the Red Sox were to pursue him, they’d have to figure out what to do about Masataka Yoshida, who has served mostly as DH and is owed $37 million over the remaining two years of his contract.” Schwarber is very familiar with playing in Boston and thrived in his short time with the Red Sox a few years ago. Since he left the Red Sox and signed with the Phillies, his bat has become one of the best in baseball. It’s hard to find any player in the game right now with more raw power than he has when he comes to the plate. If the Red Sox were to bring him in, he would have to bump Masataka Yoshida out of the starting lineup. Like Schwarber, Yoshida is primarily a designated hitter which means the latter would be on the trade block if Schwarber returned to Boston. The Red Sox have also been connected to Pete Alonso, and the offseason hasn’t even officially started. However, McCaffrey makes the case as to why Schwarber is the better option. “At 32 and because of his lack of positional flexibility, Schwarber is expected to sign a smaller deal than Alonso, around four or five years and $130-150 million,” McCaffrey wrote. “The Red Sox could absorb Yoshida’s salary (if they can find a trade partner) and still sign Schwarber for about the same it would cost to sign Alonso.” Given how many holes Boston has to fill this winter, it would make sense to pursue the option that is going to save some money, even if it isn’t much. Getting a player who can hit 50 home runs while also saving money is a win-win for Craig Breslow. The only possible downside to signing Schwarber would be that he is another left-handed bat in a lineup that is already littered with lefties. However, that should absolutely not stop the Red Sox from pursuing Schwarber. Sign him, and sort out the rest later. League of Ireland: What every team is playing for on the last day

The League of Ireland season concludes this weekend, with eight out of 10 teams having something to play for on the final day. After missing out on the title last season, Shamrock Rovers have returned to their familiar position as champions with a victory over Galway on Wednesday. At the other end of the table, Cork City's fate has been decided for some time as they are going back down. However, with European football and relegation play-off places still to be decided, here is all you need to know ahead of Saturday's action. Race for Europe In the second and third, Derry City and Shelbourne have secured European football for next season. With Shamrock Rovers taking on Cork City in the FAI Cup final, whoever finishes fourth faces a nervous wait next week to see if they will qualify for Europe. If Stephen Bradley's side completes the double, fourth place will qualify. Currently in fourth on goal difference is St Patrick's Athletic, level on points with Bohemians and Drogheda United. If St Pat's win against Shelbourne, fourth should be secured, provided Bohemians don't win by six goals against Drogheda. Should St Pat's lose, the winner of Bohemians and Drogheda would take fourth, while a draw would give Bohemians fourth if Stephen Kenny's side loses. A draw for St Pat's against Shelbourne would mean the winner of Drogheda and Bohemians would claim fourth. Battle to avoid the drop While Cork are set for the second tier, the relegation play-off is yet to be decided, with Galway United, Sligo Rovers, and Waterford all hoping to avoid ninth. Waterford are currently in the play-off position on goal difference, level on points with Sligo Rovers and Galway United on 39. Champions Shamrock Rovers host Sligo, who may be looking to Europe and the FAI Cup final next week, with key players possibly rested. Galway and Waterford face each other, with both sides desperate to avoid defeat. Victory for either side would be enough, while a draw and a win for Shamrock Rovers would see Sligo Rovers in the relegation play-off position. A draw in both games would see Waterford stay in ninth, while wins for Sligo and Waterford would see Galway in trouble. All of Saturday's games will kick off at 4:30 pm, and will be shown live on LOITV. Final League of Ireland games Saturday, November 1st Cork City v Derry City. Drogheda United v Bohemians. (Virgin Media One). Shamrock Rovers v Sligo Rovers. Shelbourne v St Patrick's Athletic. Waterford v Galway United.

Why Blue Jays' Championship Would Make AL East MLB's Best 2026 Division

The Toronto Blue Jays emerged as American League East champions for the first time in a decade. They rode that momentum to the World Series where they sit one win away from their first title since 1993. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – OCTOBER 28: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. #27 of the Toronto Blue Jays looks on after hitting a two-run home run in the third inning against Shohei Ohtani #17 of the Los Angeles Dodgers in game four of the 2025 World Series at Dodger Stadium on October 28, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Sean M. Haffey/Getty Images) Winning a championship means plenty enough for Toronto, though it could also mean plenty for the future of the AL East. Toronto entered October as one of three playoff teams from the division along with the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees, who battled it out in three games during the wild card series. Those teams should all be strong again entering 2026. The Blue Jays may just be the defending champions. The Yankees return a healthy and talented starting rotation with Gerrit Cole, Max Fried, Carlos Rodon and Cam Schlittler. The Red Sox get a full season from star rookie Roman Anthony and a deeper pitching staff led by ace Garrett Crochet. That’s all before expected improvement from the Baltimore Orioles under new manager Craig Albernaz with proven young stars in Gunnar Henderson and supporting castmates in Adley Rutschman and Jackson Holliday. The Tampa Bay Rays always find a way to pitch their way into the conversation and return home to their renovated Tropicana Field after playing the 2025 schedule at the Yankees’ spring training site. All of that adds up to a gauntlet of baseball competition in the AL East in 2026 that should thrill baseball fans from start to finish.
