Indian Test team: 'Not even allowed to fail' - Ex-cricketer questions Sarfaraz Khan's omission

NEW DELHI: Sarfaraz Khan’s continued absence from the Indian Test team has led to questions from several former players. The Mumbai batter has not played a Test since November 2024. Meanwhile, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra said Sarfaraz has been affected by a perception issue. Sarfaraz has played six Tests so far, scoring 371 runs at an average of 37.10, with three fifties and one century. His highest score in Tests is 150."I think there is a clarity issue in the case of Sarfaraz. I think it is a case of perception and understanding. I am trying to think—they might have a perception that he may not do as well in swinging conditions or play fast bowling well. Maybe he is not our guy in SENA countries. So he did not get the chance. But even to make that perception, I have to allow him to fail. He is not even being allowed to fail. And now there is no place in the team as well," Chopra said on Shubhankar Mishra's YouTube channel.Chopra added, "I think Sarfaraz should play, or else it would be unfair."Sarfaraz has also has had a difficult Ranji Trophy season so far, scoring 178 runs in five matches with one fifty. The right-hander batter’s returns are indeed low for the lofty standards he has set in the Ranji Trophy in the seasons preceding his India Test call-up. He made 556 runs in 2022-23 season in six matches at 92.66, piled up as many as 982 runs in 2021-22 at 122.75 in six matches, and before that, Sarfaraz smacked 928 runs in the 2019-20 season in six matches at 154.66.Get an chance to win ₹5000 Amazon Voucher by taking part in India's Biggest Habit Index! IND vs SA: Former India cricketer advises Shubman Gill to take a break - 'Skip the IPL' -

India captain Shubman Gill, who has not trained since sustaining a neck spasm during the first Test against South Africa in Kolkata, and will take a fitness test on Friday to determine his availability for the second match, has been advised by former cricketer Aakash Chopra to take a break.Gill has become a central figure in Indian cricket this year. He is the only frontline batter who plays all three formats and also leads the team in Tests and ODIs. He has been made vice-captain in T20Is, signalling a possible leadership role in the shortest format if he keeps his place in a competitive setup. He also captains Gujarat Titans in the IPL.Since February, Gill has played every major assignment — the IPL, a home ODI series, and the Asia Cup, which marked his return to T20Is after more than a year. No other India player has featured in all these tournaments.Aakash Chopra offered his view on Gill’s workload. "I asked Gautam Gambhir exactly that (about Gill's workload management). His point was that if you need workload management, then skip the IPL," Chopra said, as quoted by News18.“If you feel that leading an IPL team puts too much pressure, then don’t lead. While playing, (if) you are fit and not mentally fatigued… can turn up with 100 per cent intensity, play every single game you can – as a batter – I second the opinion that when you are going through a good form, you really want to maximise. You never know when the bad form (will hit you) or where the next run is going to come from. We have all gone through those feelings," he added.Gill was appointed Test captain earlier this year and led India to a 2-2 draw in England, followed by a 2-0 win over the West Indies at home.He developed the neck spasm on Day 2 of the first Test against South Africa and has not returned to training.South Africa won the low-scoring match at Eden Gardens to continue their strong run after becoming World Test champions in June. The victory was their first Test win in India since the opening match of the 2010 series.Get an chance to win ₹5000 Amazon Voucher by taking part in India's Biggest Habit Index! Take the survey here

'De De Pyaar De 2' box office collection day 7: The Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Rakul Preet Singh film crosses Rs 51 crore by the end of first week

The sequel to the 2019 'De De Pyaar De' released in cinemas last Friday, November 14 and had a decent opening at the box office. Romcoms are not expected to bring in those huge numbers, especially post pandemic. The film opened at Rs 8.75 crore and saw growth on its first weekend. But over the last few days, it was holding decently well as there was positive word of mouth. Just as the film completes one week now, this Friday sees the release of films like '120 Bahadur' and 'Masti 4' and thus, the Ajay Devgn starrer romantic comedy may see a drop. The film made less than Rs 30 crore on the opening weekend. On first Monday, it saw a slight drop at the box office which was expected. The Monday dip is the most natural for the biggest movies. So, it earned Rs 4.25 crore on Monday which is a drop of around 60 percent. On Tuesday, the movie made Rs 5 crore which is a bit of growth. This could be due to discounted ticket prices on Tuesday. It collected Rs 3.5 crore on Wednesday and on Thursday, day 6, it minted Rs 3.35 crore. The total collection now by the end of first week is Rs 51.10 crore. While the original 'De De Pyaar De' wrapped up its global run at around ₹131 crore, a mark this film is unlikely to match, the earlier movie’s overseas tally of $2.8 million is within reach, provided the second weekend holds strong.Day 1 [1st Friday] ₹ 8.75 Cr -Day 2 [1st Saturday] ₹ 12.25 Cr Day 3 [1st Sunday] ₹ 13.75 Cr Day 4 [1st Monday] ₹ 4.25 Cr Day 5 [1st Tuesday] ₹ 5.25 Cr Day 6 [1st Wednesday] ₹ 3.5 Cr Day 7 [1st Thursday] ₹ 3.35 Cr * early estimates -Total ₹ 51.10 Cr -Get an chance to win ₹5000 Amazon Voucher by taking part in India's Biggest Habit Index! Today brings a test of your balance between heart and boundary. You may feel pulled toward helping others, but remember your own space also needs protection. Being kind does not mean saying yes to everything. Practice calm strength and speak your truth gently. Some people around you may not understand your silence or firmness, but stay grounded. You have nothing to prove. Let your actions show your values. This is a good day to show empathy without bending your peace. The universe supports those who stay kind but do not lose themselves in the process of pleasing others.Sagittarius Love Horoscope Today In love, soft words and firm intentions bring the best results today. If you're in a relationship, you may need to set limits while still being warm. A partner might expect more attention or energy than you can give, so express yourself with clarity and care. For singles, it is important to stop saying yes when your heart says no. You are allowed to wait for a connection that respects both your freedom and your softness. Let love enter with kindness, not pressure. Your honesty in love will attract someone who values your true self, not just your effort.Sagittarius Career Horoscope Today Career matters ask you to stand up for what is fair while keeping your grace. You may need to speak up in a meeting or deal with someone who doubts your ideas. Respond with facts, not ego. Your calm voice will carry more weight than loud opinions. If you're working on something creative, trust your unique process even if others do not fully understand it yet. Today is about showing your dedication without allowing anyone to step over your limits. You can be both gentle and strong. When you honour both sides, success will naturally follow.Sagittarius Money Horoscope Today Financially, today brings the need to stay generous but smart. You might feel pulled to support someone close or spend on something that tugs at your emotions. Step back and ask yourself if it is necessary right now. Helping others is noble, but not if it creates stress for you. You may also be rethinking your savings habits. Stay kind to yourself too. Forgive old mistakes and make better choices with a clear head. Good money flow comes when kindness meets wisdom. Today is not for risk, but for small, wise steps that build long-term comfort.Sagittarius Health Horoscope Today Your health may feel slightly tired due to overthinking or emotional strain. You might carry stress in the neck, shoulders or stomach area. This is your body asking for both rest and boundaries. Say no when you need to. Your kindness does not need to cost your well-being. Drink calming teas, avoid overstimulating food, and spend a few minutes in quiet. Select The Times of India as your preferred source on Google Search.

Phiri made the remarks on Wednesday in response to Washington's decision not to attend the G20 Leaders' Summit scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, as well as its objection to the issuance of any outcome document presented as a G20 consensus without U.S. consent. Earlier, South African G20 Sous-Sherpa Xolisa Mabhongo confirmed receiving a letter from the United States, in which Washington said it would only accept a "chair's statement" reflecting a lack of consensus. Hamas accuses Israel of truce violation by altering Gaza "Yellow Line" The Hamas-run media office on Thursday accused the Israeli military of a "blatant violation" of the cease-fire agreement, claiming Israel expanded the Yellow Line boundary that restricts its operations east of Gaza City. In a statement, the Hamas office alleged the Israeli army had committed a "new act of aggression" by pushing into eastern Gaza City and moving the yellow markers. The army extended the Yellow Line by 300 meters into the Al-Shaaf, Al-Nazzaz, and Baghdad neighborhoods, the statement claimed, adding that this move resulted in the encirclement of dozens of families who were unable to leave after tanks unexpectedly entered the area. Clashes erupt between Syrian army, U.S.-backed Kurdish militants in northern province Clashes between the soldiers loyal to Syria's interim authority and the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) erupted after midnight and continued into Thursday in northern Syria's Raqqa province, leaving casualties on both sides, officials and monitoring groups said. Syria's defense authorities said SDF fighters attacked army positions in the city of Maadan in Raqqa province, using heavy fire from multiple weapons and seized several sites. Two soldiers were killed and others wounded, the authorities said. Syrian troops later counterattacked, retaking the positions and driving out the attackers. The authorities blamed the SDF for what they called repeated "treacherous aggression" against army positions. Kremlin says no Russia-U.S. consultations underway on Ukraine settlement Moscow and Washington keep in touch, but there are no consultations on Ukraine, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday. "There are certainly contacts. But a process that could be called consultations -- no, it's not underway," Peskov told reporters, commenting on potential consultations on achieving peace in Ukraine. Peskov said Russia remains open to the Ukraine settlement, but it must lead to the "elimination of the root causes of this conflict." Russia again slams Japanese PM's Taiwan-related remarks

"Eighty years have passed, and Japan still refuses to recognize the results of World War II, as enshrined in international law," spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a daily press conference when answering a question from Xinhua on the blatant Taiwan-related remarks made earlier this month by Takaichi. A number of countries loudly declare their commitment to the one-China principle, but at the same time continue to cynically escalate tensions in the Taiwan Strait and obstruct the peaceful reunification of China, she said. They supply weapons to the island, actively strengthen military and political contact, promote separatist sentiments, and use the Chinese province of Taiwan as an instrument of pressure and geopolitical containment of the People's Republic of China, the spokesperson said. Zakharova noted that Russia's position on the Taiwan question is well known and has not changed. "The Russian side recognizes that Taiwan is an integral part of China and opposes the island's independence in any form," she said. The Taiwan question is China's internal affair and China has every legitimate reason to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity, she added. Russia, as a true friend and reliable partner of China in the international arena, is ready to continue to provide firm mutual support to China on issues related to sovereignty and territorial integrity, including the Taiwan question, she noted. In an interview with Xinhua on Tuesday, Zakharova said Japan's current leader should learn from history and refrain from making dangerous statements regarding Taiwan. "It would be good if those politicians who come to govern Japan remember this, understand where irresponsible statements lead, and refrain from making them," she said. Buzzer-beating Bulls eager for easier ride against Heat

Trump urges revoking ABC broadcast licenses after reporter's question Judge says DOJ showed 'disturbing' missteps in Comey indictment Trump launches 'FIFA Pass' to speed visa interviews for World Cup fans Rights Group Says Nearly 100 Palestinians Have Died in Israeli Custody Buzzer-beating Bulls eager for easier ride against Heat (Photo credit: Soobum Im-Imagn Images) Relying on late-game heroics is 'not sustainable basketball,' Chicago Bulls coach Billy Donovan finds. While his players agree, they've decided to excel at this style anyway. The Bulls return home Friday to face the Miami Heat in NBA Cup play still beaming over Wednesday's buzzer-beater in Portland. Nikola Vucevic drilled a 3-pointer to secure a 122-121 win, rescuing the Bulls after they squandered a 21-point fourth-quarter lead. Chicago improved to 6-4 in 'clutch' games -- when the score difference is within five points in the fourth quarter or overtime. Creating distance from those situations when possible, however, remains the goal. 'We can't always sit here and talk about resilience,' Vucevic said. 'At some point, we have to beat a team that once we do get up 10, 15, even ... 20, like (Wednesday), we stay with our foot on the gas and finish the game off.' Chicago and Miami are 1-1 in East Group C of the NBA Cup. Milwaukee leads the group at 2-0. The Bulls have dominated the recent series with the Heat, going 8-2 in the regular season. Coby White, who dished the assist on Vucevic's big trey in Portland after driving into the lane and drawing defenders, has scored 20-plus points in five of his past six regular-season games versus Miami. Vucevic has posted four straight double-doubles against the Heat in the regular season. That's no surprise to White. 'He's our connector. He's our leader. He makes big-time plays,' White said. 'He's super important to what we do. We rely on him. He has a high IQ and good feel for the game. He's so dangerous. He can roll. He can pop. He's a really, really good basketball player.' Friday marks the beginning of a brief, two-game road trip for the Heat, who are in the middle of playing 10 of 13 at home. Miami has lost four of its last five away from Kaseya Center, but in the past two defeats was either without star center Bam Adebayo or he played limited minutes. Adebayo sustained a left toe strain during the first quarter of the Heat's Nov. 5 loss at Denver before returning to the lineup for Wednesday's 110-96 home win against Golden State. He contributed 20 points and seven rebounds in 29 minutes. 'I felt good,' Adebayo said. 'Just trying to find a rhythm, let the game come to me. And it did at some point.' After his career-best streak of 19 games with a 3-pointer ended in Denver, Adebayo shot 3-for-4 from deep Wednesday. 'We definitely missed him and glad to have him back,' said the Heat's Norman Powell, who led the team with 25 points and has scored at least that many in four of the past five games. Heat guard Nikola Jovic missed Wednesday's game with a right hip impingement he felt while attempting to work out earlier in the day and has been ruled out for Friday's game. Chicago swept Miami 3-0 last season, winning each game by nine points or less. --Field Level Media Buzzer-beating Bulls eager for easier ride against Heat Buzzer-beating Bulls eager for easier ride against Heat Field Level Media 21st November 2025, 11:40 GMT+11 (Photo credit: Soobum Im-Imagn Images) Relying on late-game heroics is 'not sustainable basketball,' Chicago Bulls coach Billy Donovan finds. --Field Level Media Discover moreEconomic news analysisInternational news subscriptionsInvestment platformsBusiness news podcastsGeopolitical risk assessmentsDigital newspaper subscriptionWorld politics documentariesInternational business consultingGlobal news subscriptionRegional news apps Discover moreGlobal news subscriptionGeopolitical risk assessmentsStock market analysis toolsNewspaperReal-time news feedPolitical science coursesTravel insurance plansGeopolitical analysis reportsBreaking news alertTech news coverage Full Highlights: Seahawks vs. BuccaneersWatch The Top Plays From Seattle's Week 5 Matchup With The Tampa Bay BuccaneersBig News NetworkUndoTrump and Xi eye TikTok deal as part of effort to cool trade tensionsBig News NetworkUndoSaints Thursday Injury 2025 Week 3 vs. Seattle SeahawksBig News NetworkUndoSeahawks acquire WR Rashid Shaheed from SaintsMatthew Hinton-Imagn Images)Big News NetworkUndo2020 Week 16 Key Matchups: Seahawks vs. RamsBig News NetworkUndoUrban Future Week kicks off at Museum of the FutureBig News NetworkUndo Read This Next Wall Street Sinks as Tech Rout Drags Nasdaq Sharply Lower International student enrollment falls 17% amid tighter US visa rules Google's data hub sparks renewable energy debate on Christmas Island US emerges as largest recipient of Chinese state loans ING Bank Slaski to buy last 55% in Goldman Sachs TFI for $108 million Big News Network Big News Network News Agency Midwest Radio Network Mainstream Media BIG NEWS NETWORK.COM Contact & Support Terms & Conditions PRODUCTS & SERVICES News Releases Copyright © 1998-2025 Big News Network All rights reserved. "We have a Communist coming": White House renews attack on NYC mayor-elect Mamdani before meeting Trump

White House also renewed the attack on Mamdani ahead of his meeting, describing him as a 'communist'. '... The President issued a statement that the Mayor-elect will be coming to the Oval Office tomorrow, so our teams are arranging those details... It speaks volumes that tomorrow we have a Communist coming to the White House, because that's who the Democrat Party elected as the Mayor of the largest city in the country,' Leavitt told reporters during a briefing. The White House Press Secretary claimed that New York City is turning much more 'Left' than the President even anticipated. 'It's very telling but it also speaks to the fact that President Trump is willing to meet with anyone and talk to anyone and try to do what's right on behalf of the American people, whether they live in blue states or red states or blue cities and the city which is becoming much more Left than the President ever anticipated in his many years of living in New York himself,' she added. Earlier on Wednesday (local time), US President Donald Trump announced that New York City's mayor-elect, Zohran 'Kwame' Mamdani, is scheduled to meet him at the Oval Office on Friday. In a Truth Social post, Trump wrote, 'Communist Mayor of New York City, Zohran 'Kwame' Mamdani, has asked for a meeting. We have agreed that this meeting will take place at the Oval Office on Friday, November 21st. Further details to follow!' The announcement follows months of sharp public exchanges between the two. According to The New York Times, Mamdani's team recently reached out to the White House to seek a meeting focused on New York's affordability crisis, signalling a shift in tone after their confrontational campaign season. During his campaign, Mamdani had described Trump as a threat to democracy and said he alone had the 'backbone' to challenge him. Trump urges revoking ABC broadcast licenses after reporter's question

Trump urges revoking ABC broadcast licenses after reporter's question Judge says DOJ showed 'disturbing' missteps in Comey indictment Trump launches 'FIFA Pass' to speed visa interviews for World Cup fans Rights Group Says Nearly 100 Palestinians Have Died in Israeli Custody Trump urges revoking ABC broadcast licenses after reporter's question WASHINGTON, D.C.: A brief exchange with a reporter has prompted U.S. President Donald Trump to renew his calls for federal regulators to strip broadcast licenses from ABC affiliates, escalating his long-running campaign against media outlets he says treat him unfairly. During an Oval Office appearance with the Saudi crown prince this week, an ABC News reporter asked Trump about the Jeffrey Epstein political scandal. Trump bristled at the question, responding, "I think the license should be taken away from ABC, because your news is so fake and it's so wrong." The remark is Trump's latest attempt to pressure the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) into punishing a broadcaster he frequently criticizes, though such efforts have so far yielded little tangible action. He praised FCC Chair Brendan Carr, whom he appointed in January, and urged him to "look at that." Carr met with Trump in Florida over the weekend, according to a social media post. The confrontation marks the second time in recent months that ABC has drawn Trump's public ire. In September, Trump applauded Carr after he pressured stations to pull ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel off the air over comments Kimmel made regarding the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. At the time, Trump again floated the idea of stripping broadcast licenses. Trump has repeatedly called on the FCC to revoke licenses held by affiliates of ABC and Comcast-owned NBC, and to charge them for using public airwaves. The FCC, however, is an independent agency with narrow authority. It grants licenses to individual broadcast stations, not networks, for eight-year terms. Although the FCC can revoke a license under a public-interest standard, it has not exercised that power in more than 40 years. Democratic FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez pushed back forcefully on Trump's latest comments. "The FCC doesn't get to decide whether the news coverage of those in power is acceptable," she said. "It has neither the legal authority nor the constitutional right to pursue broadcasters for their journalism. These threats sound ominous, but they're empty." Trump has also recently targeted other media figures. Earlier this month, he called on NBC to fire late-night host Seth Meyers after criticizing Meyers' satirical monologue. In July, the FCC approved a US$8.4 billion merger between Paramount Global and Skydance Media, subject to Skydance agreeing to ensure that CBS programming is free of bias and to employ an ombudsman for at least 2 years. The approval came soon after Paramount agreed to pay $16 million to settle Trump's lawsuit over the editing of a "60 Minutes" interview with then–Vice President Kamala Harris, which House Democrats are now investigating. In January, Carr reinstated complaints involving the Harris CBS interview, ABC News' moderation of the Biden–Trump debate, and NBC's decision to allow Harris to appear on Saturday Night Live shortly before the election. Trump's first FCC chair, Ajit Pai, rejected similar demands in 2017, saying the agency "does not have the authority to revoke a license of a broadcast station based on the content." China halts Japanese seafood imports as diplomatic tensions escalate

Trump urges revoking ABC broadcast licenses after reporter's question Judge says DOJ showed 'disturbing' missteps in Comey indictment Trump launches 'FIFA Pass' to speed visa interviews for World Cup fans Rights Group Says Nearly 100 Palestinians Have Died in Israeli Custody China halts Japanese seafood imports as diplomatic tensions escalate TOKYO/BEIJING: China has moved to shut off all Japanese seafood imports, deepening an already volatile diplomatic clash that has rattled political ties, disrupted travel and now threatens a key segment of Japan's export economy. Media outlets reported on November 19 that Beijing informed Tokyo of the new ban, which marks a sharp escalation in tensions following comments by newly elected Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. Earlier this month, Takaichi said that a Chinese attack on Taiwan threatening Japan's survival could prompt a military response, remarks China has demanded she withdraw. Beijing has since urged its citizens to avoid travelling to Japan, triggering a wave of cancellations that could weigh heavily on the world's fourth-largest economy. The ban also reverses progress made just months ago, when China partially eased restrictions it had imposed after Japan released treated wastewater from the Fukushima nuclear plant in 2023. According to Kyodo news agency, China told Japan the renewed ban was due to the need for further monitoring of the water discharge. China's commerce ministry and customs administration did not immediately respond to queries. Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries also could not be reached. The backlash against Takaichi has intensified in recent days. Following harsh criticism from a Chinese diplomat in Tokyo and state media attacks, Japan warned its citizens in China on Monday to take extra precautions and avoid crowded areas. Tokyo maintains that Takaichi's remarks in parliament align with existing government policy, suggesting little room for a diplomatic reset. China had said in June that it would resume seafood imports from all but 10 of Japan's 47 prefectures. The full re-imposition of the ban now deals a major blow to Japanese exporters eager to re-enter what was once one of their most important markets. Before the 2023 restrictions, China was Japan's biggest scallop buyer and a major importer of sea cucumbers. Japanese Agriculture Minister Norikazu Suzuki said nearly 700 exporters had applied to re-register for shipments to China, but only three had been approved so far. The impact is not limited to seafood. China's informal travel boycott could have significant consequences for Japan's fragile economy. Tourism contributes roughly 7 percent of the country's GDP, and visitors from mainland China and Hong Kong account for around one-fifth of all arrivals. More than 10 Chinese airlines have offered refunds on Japan-bound flights through December 31. One airline analyst estimated that 500,000 tickets have already been cancelled. A staff member at a state-owned Chinese bank said employees were told on Tuesday that requests to travel to Japan would not be approved for now. The diplomatic rift is also spilling into academic and cultural exchanges. China's foreign ministry said an annual meeting of scholars set to begin in Beijing on Saturday has been postponed. An event promoting Japan–China friendship, scheduled for November 21 in Hiroshima, was likewise cancelled. China has suspended screenings of upcoming Japanese films, and some Japanese entertainers with large Chinese fan bases have responded by publicly supporting Beijing. "China is like my second homeland to me, and all my friends in China are my cherished family — I will always support One China," Japanese singer MARiA wrote on Weibo. The Raptors are 2-0 in their NBA Cup games and riding a hot streak overall. After a 121-112 road win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday, they have won a season-best five straight games and nine of the last 10 -- their best 10-game span since February 2020. Toronto's only loss was a 130-120 defeat at the Philadelphia 76ers on Nov. 8. As a result, the Raptors sit second in the Eastern Conference for the first time since in over five years. Toronto leads the NBA Cup East Group A standings, having defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks. The top team during group stage play will advance to the knockout round. The Raptors could clinch first in the group with a win on Friday and a loss by the Indiana Pacers. The Wizards are 0-1 in the NBA Cup and have dropped 12 in a row overall after a 120-109 road loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. Toronto won three of four from Washington last season. The Wizards' lone win came at Toronto. In their game at Philadelphia, the Raptors trailed 56-53 at halftime, but took command with a 44-26 third quarter and held off Philadelphia's rally. Brandon Ingram and RJ Barrett scored 22 points each for the Raptors. Jakob Poeltl contributed 19. Immanuel Quickley scored 11 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter during which he drilled three 3-pointers -- two in the final 3:01 to help blunt Philadelphia's rally. Scottie Barnes, who scored 16 points, had a steal and a blocked shot for the 11th consecutive game to extend his team record. Toronto was outrebounded 41-31, but the margin was only 8-7 in the fourth quarter. 'A big part of the game was in the third quarter and how we adjusted to things we were seeing in the first half,' Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic said. 'I think the most important thing is that we were struggling during the course of the game with rebounding and we did a good job down the stretch with that.' Reserve Ja'Kobe Walter provided a spark with 11 points and three steals. 'He was awesome, his energy was high-level,' Rajakovic said. 'They were beating us early on the boards,' Walter said. 'So it was a big emphasis from the coach in timeouts and at halftime that we have to rebound.' The Wizards are looking for encouragement wherever they can find it and the second half against the Timberwolves qualified. Minnesota led 71-46 at halftime and Washington rallied with a 36-23 third quarter. 'A great response from our group,' Wizards coach Brian Keefe said. 'But it really was our defense in the second half that held them back. Terrific response from our guys, resiliency, togetherness, something we can build on.' The Wizards committed 17 turnovers, seven in the second quarter. 'Turnovers really hurt us at the start of the second quarter,' said Keefe, who was pleased with his team's response. 'Our guys just kept putting their heads down and played possession by possession.' Kyshawn George led the Wizards with 23 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Alex Sarr missed his first game this season because of a sore left big toe. He is listed as questionable for Friday's game. Marvin Bagley III got the start in Sarr's spot and had 13 points, seven rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block. --Field Level Media Streaking Raptors look to clinch NBA Cup group vs. struggling Wizards Streaking Raptors look to clinch NBA Cup group vs. struggling Wizards Field Level Media 21st November 2025, 11:40 GMT+11 (Photo credit: Bill Streicher-Imagn Images) The Toronto Raptors aim to remain undefeated in NBA Cup group play Friday night when they host the struggling Washington Wizards. Sabonis, 29, will be re-evaluated in three to four weeks, the Kings said. A three-time All-Star, Sabonis last played on Sunday, collecting 17 points, 13 rebounds and five assists in a 123-110 road loss to the San Antonio Spurs. The team said he experienced left knee soreness following the game. He did not play on Wednesday at Oklahoma City, a 113-99 setback. Sacramento (3-12) has lost seven straight games, all by double digits. Sabonis is averaging 17.2 points, 12.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 33.2 minutes in 11 games (all starts) this season. Extremely durable over his 10-year career, Sabonis was sidelined for the season opener due to a hamstring strain in the preseason and missed two games this month because of a rib issue. The Orlando Magic selected Sabonis with the 11th overall pick of the 2016 NBA Draft and traded him the same day to Oklahoma City. The Thunder dealt him to the Pacers in July 2017, and the Kings acquired him in February 2022 in a deal that sent point guard Tyrese Haliburton to Indiana. For his career, Sabonis has averaged 16.1 points, 10.7 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 30.8 minutes in 657 regular-season games (517 starts) for the Thunder (2016-17), Pacers (2017-22) and Kings. --Field Level Media Kings star C Domantas Sabonis has torn meniscus, out at least 3-4 weeks Kings star C Domantas Sabonis has torn meniscus, out at least 3-4 weeks Field Level Media 21st November 2025, 11:25 GMT+11 (Photo credit: Bruce Kluckhohn-Imagn Images) The skidding Sacramento Kings got more bad news on Thursday when MRI imaging revealed star center Domantas Sabonis has a partial meniscus tear in his left knee, the team announced. U.S. stocks sink as rate-cut hopes dim

Trump urges revoking ABC broadcast licenses after reporter's question Judge says DOJ showed 'disturbing' missteps in Comey indictment Trump launches 'FIFA Pass' to speed visa interviews for World Cup fans Rights Group Says Nearly 100 Palestinians Have Died in Israeli Custody U.S. stocks sink as rate-cut hopes dim NEW YORK, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stock indexes erased early gains and finished lower Thursday, as investors weighed Nvidia's strong earnings against shifting expectations for Federal Reserve rate cuts following the release of the long-delayed September jobs report. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 386.51 points, or 0.84 percent, to 45,752.26, after rallying more than 700 points at session highs. The S&P 500 sank 103.4 points, or 1.56 percent, to 6,538.76. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 486.18 points, or 2.15 percent, to 22,078.05. Ten of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended lower, with technology and consumer discretionary leading the laggards by dropping 2.66 percent and 1.73 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, consumer staples bucked the trend by rising 1.11 percent. Nvidia shares jumped nearly 5 percent at the open after the chipmaker delivered an earnings beat and projected stronger-than-expected revenues for the fourth quarter. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said demand for the company's Blackwell chips is "off the charts," dismissing concerns about an AI bubble. However, the standout results ultimately failed to support the stock or the broader market. With skepticism mounting over lofty AI valuations, especially if the Fed does not ease policy, early gains evaporated. Oracle and AMD turned negative first, followed by Nvidia, which slid nearly 3 percent. The session was further shaped by the September nonfarm payrolls report, the first major economic data since the record U.S. government shutdown ended. The U.S. economy added 119,000 nonfarm jobs in September, beating expectations for a 51,000 increase, while the unemployment rate rose to 4.4 percent as more workers reentered the labor force. In interest rate markets, traders priced in around a 38-percent chance of a December rate cut following the data. Minutes from the Fed's October meeting highlighted policymakers' "strongly differing views" on whether a cooling labor market or persistent inflation poses the larger risk. U.S. jobs growth was stronger than expected in September, but unemployment also rose amid workers returning to seek jobs, said James Knightley, ING's chief international economist. "Given the Fed's recent hawkish shift and the lack of official data scheduled before the 10 December Federal Open Market Committee meeting, it is understandable that the market thinks the next move won't come until early 2026." On the corporate front, Walmart raised its full-year outlook after delivering better-than-expected third-quarter profit and sales. Walmart shares rose 6.46 percent as investors parsed the results for clues about consumer resilience heading into the holiday shopping season. Texas A&M back at it vs. Manhattan following close call

Trump urges revoking ABC broadcast licenses after reporter's question Judge says DOJ showed 'disturbing' missteps in Comey indictment Trump launches 'FIFA Pass' to speed visa interviews for World Cup fans Rights Group Says Nearly 100 Palestinians Have Died in Israeli Custody Texas A&M back at it vs. Manhattan following close call (Photo credit: Maria Lysaker-Imagn Images) Texas A&M will strive to build on a gritty win when it hosts Manhattan on Friday in College Station, Texas. The Aggies head back to the court after an 86-81 home win over Montana on Tuesday that snapped a two-game losing streak. Texas A&M got 17 points from Rylan Griffen and 12 from Ruben Dominguez and needed them all to withstand a late Montana push that whittled a 19-point cushion to one in the final seconds. Texas A&M converted seven of eight free throws in the final seconds to secure the win. 'We have all the game pressure in the world to make free throws,' Texas A&M coach Bucky McMillan said. 'You felt it. You look up, and the game's under control. Then you blink. Now, we've got to make free throws to close the game out. I'm glad our guys were not too cool for school to go ahead and close it out right there.' The Aggies shot 53.7% from the floor and racked up 22 assists on 29 field goals as Zach Clemence, Rashaun Agee and Pop Isaacs scored 10 points apiece. Agee also grabbed 10 rebounds. 'We were just playing together,' Agee said. 'The ball is going to find the right man every time, and we got great shots. We just now have got to throw it over in the second half. It's a lesson. We continue to learn. Every game we learn.' The Aggies have played four of their first five games at home and will follow up Friday's outing with another home contest against Mississippi Valley State. Manhattan rolls into the Brazos Valley after winning two of three at the Rainbow Classic last week in Honolulu. The Jaspers opened with a 79-75 win over Utah Tech, lost to host Hawaii 86-56 in the semis and then beat Mississippi Valley State 80-73 on Saturday in the consolation game. Devin Dinkins had 22 points to lead Manhattan in Saturday's win, with Fraser Roxburgh adding 19, Jaden Winston scoring 14 and Marko Ljubicic hitting for 11 while converting all four of his shots from the floor. The Jaspers trailed late before Winston canned a jumper with less than three minutes to play and Manhattan was able to hold on. 'I am very proud of our group,' said Manhattan coach John Gallagher. 'We had many contributions during trying times throughout the week. Not many teams come to Hawaii and win. We will build on these two wins as we prepare for Texas A&M and as we approach MAAC play.' --Field Level Media Texas A&M back at it vs. Manhattan following close call Texas A&M back at it vs. Manhattan following close call Field Level Media 21st November 2025, 11:25 GMT+11 (Photo credit: Maria Lysaker-Imagn Images) Texas A&M will strive to build on a gritty win when it hosts Manhattan on Friday in College Station, Texas.
