You’ll have real-world responsibilities during the summer, in addition to participating in professional development, networking and social events.The Summer Internship Program acts as a feeder to the 2027 Full-Time Graduate Analyst Program.About Portfolio Management and Fundamental Equities TeamPortfolio Management is uniquely crafted to deliver outstanding outcomes, better returns, increased convenience and improved transparency for our clients by building investment quality and efficient portfolios.The Fundamental Equities (FE) team makes active decisions in the Equity market to generate superior returns for clients through fundamental research into companies and consideration of the macroeconomic environment. We take multiple investment approaches to manage portfolios across several styles, geographies and capitalization ranges. We also find opportunities to seek out inefficiencies in stock markets, which can be identified and exploited by proprietary fundamental research.As an Intern, you willBe responsible for stock analysis and investment recommendations, undertaking robust and rigorous research and analysisRecommend and share investment ideas for equities with other investment professionalsProvide macro-economic views and insights as well as opinions on the outlook for the equity market and key and pertinent market drivers from top-down and bottom-up perspectivesPartner with local and global portfolio managers and research analysts to receive and provide investment ideas for implementation into portfoliosOperate as part of the team utilizing best practices in terms of philosophy and process while contributing to evolution and developmentBuild partnership and strong working relationship with counterparts around the regionServe as a resource for, and share information with, other investment professionals at BlackRockNote: The specific responsibilities of an intern in Portfolio Management may vary depending on the team and the investment strategies they support.What capabilities are we looking for?Passion for investing and interest in markets and portfolio managementStrong fundamental research skills with particular strength in financial analysis/modellingGood understanding of business models, industry dynamics, and competitive analysisData driven mindset; investment theses are backed up with data and not simply storiesKnowledge of financial markets, especially in Asia / North AsiaEffective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to constructively debate and challenge ideasAbility to work closely with a small team as well as more broadly within an organization where information-sharing is critical to the success of all teams across asset classesAbility to grasp quantitative concepts and its application to portfolio managementAnalytical approach and critical thinkingAbility to distill and communicate large amounts of information succinctlyJapanese language proficiency is a requirementApplication InstructionsIf this is something of your interest, apply now!
