Position Title: 2D Junior Animator Direct Supervisor: Lead Animator / Creative DirectorStarting Date: December 1, 2025Work Mode: On-site, HybridLocation: Studio Britānta, Chawash Marga, Kupondole, LalitpurDuration: 2 monthsBackground & ObjectiveWe are currently working on a project involving the creation of short-form videos(15-30 seconds) following the three main characters. The character design and creation of a few of the recurring assets and backgrounds is completed as of now in the Pre-Production Phase. The primary objective of this internship is to support the Production Phase, specifically by bridging the gap between "Keyframes" (the main shots drawn by the lead animator) to ensure the animation/ movement is smooth. Additionally, assistance is needed in the tracing, coloring, and shading of the shots. This role is critical for maintaining fluid motion as well as ensuring line-work consistency.Scope of Work (Responsibilities)The Intern will assist primarily in the Frame-by-Frame (2D) and Rigging phases of the workflow. The core responsibility is "In-betweening" - creating the intermediate drawings between two keyframes to create the illusion of movement.A. In-betweening & Clean-up (Primary Focus)In-betweening: Using Adobe Photoshop, OpenToonz, or similar 2D drawing software, generate the intermediate frames between the "Keyframes" provided by the Lead Animator. Ensure the timing matches the spacing charts or instructions provided in the Animatic.Clean-up: Trace over rough animation sketches to create final, polished line work. Ensure line thickness and style remain consistent with the approved Character Designs.Flats and Fills(Colouring): Apply base colors to the cleaned-up frames (Coloring) in preparation for the compositing stage.B. Rigging & Setup SupportRig Testing (Moho): Assist in rigging and stress-testing skeletal rigs in Moho to ensure joints bend correctly and facial sets function before the animation begins.Asset Organization: Maintain a Shared Assets Folder by organizing environment kit pieces, props, and UI elements created in Photoshop/Procreate for easy access by the team.C. Integration & Compositing Support (Optional)3D Integration: Assist in importing simple 3D blockouts from Cinema 4D into the 2D workspace to serve as tracing guides for perspective.Basic Compositing: Assist in assembling layers in After Effects, ensuring backgrounds and character passes are correctly aligned before the final look development (glows, grain, effects).Required QualificationsSoftware Proficiency: Intermediate knowledge of Photoshop, Clip Studio, Procreate Dreams (or similar frame-by-frame software) and basic to intermediate knowledge of After Effects.Willingness to Learn: Moho (for rigging logic) and Blender.Artistic Skills: Strong draftsmanship with the ability to replicate an established art style (on-model drawing).Attention to Detail: Patience for repetitive tasks such as coloring (fills) and checking frame consistency.
