Job Description – Accountant Job Summary:The Accountant is responsible for preparing financial statements, monitoring daily financial operations, maintaining accurate accounting records, and supporting management through financial analysis and reporting.Duties & Responsibilities:Financial Reporting:Prepare monthly and annual financial statements accurately and in accordance with accounting standards.Review and post journal entries, ensuring proper reconciliation of accounts.Manage the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and adjustments.Prepare financial reports related to cash and bank accounts and analyze financial performance.Support management with financial analysis to aid decision-making.Daily Accounting Operations : Oversee daily banking transactions including deposits, transfers, and reconciliations.Monitor bank balances and forecast cash flow requirements.Review and verify supplier invoices and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.Ensure proper documentation and accurate filing of accounting records.Budgeting & Internal Control : Assist the Finance Manager in preparing and monitoring budgets and forecasts.Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing audit schedules.Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.Collaborate with other departments to provide necessary financial support.Compliance & Audit : Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide required documentation.Ensure compliance with tax requirements and support the preparation of tax-related reports.Adhere to the AKCC Integrated Management System policies and procedures (ISO 9001 / ISO 22000 / ISO 45001 / ISO 14001). Qualifications : EducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.SkillsStrong communication skills.High attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.Strong knowledge of accounting operations and financial reporting.Proficiency in ERP systems and financial accounting software.Teamwork and coordination skills.Ability to handle payroll and tax-related transactions.Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
