Job Description

The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for managing COGNNA's day-to-day accounting operations including bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, invoicing, payments, collections, and compliance with Saudi VAT and ZATCA regulations. The role requires high attention to detail, discipline in daily task execution, and proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting OperationsRecord daily accounting transactions (sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and journal entries) in Dafater or ERPPerform daily bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are recorded accuratelyManage vendor invoice processing, approvals, and payment scheduling aligned with the payment policySupport month-end closing by preparing trial balance, adjusting entries, and reconciliationsMaintain proper documentation and digital archiving for all accounting records (invoices, receipts, contracts)Financial ReportingPrepare monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports for management reviewAssist in generating variance analysis reports and management dashboardsSupport annual audits by coordinating with auditors, preparing schedules, and resolving audit queriesCollections & ReceivablesMaintain and update customer ledgers; ensure timely follow-ups for outstanding paymentsIssue invoices, debit notes, and receipts in compliance with ZATCA e-invoicing standardsReconcile customer balances and report overdue accountsTrack collection efficiency metrics (e.g., DSO, overdue ratios)Compliance & ControlsEnsure full compliance with ZATCA VAT requirements (filings, reconciliations, and e-invoicing)Assist in maintaining an updated approval matrix and payment authorization processImplement finance discipline including daily task planning, weekly closing, and documentation controlSuccess Metrics (KPIs)Accurate and timely monthly financial closesCompliance with VAT, ZATCA, and audit standardsReduced closing cycle time and improved reporting accuracyClean and efficient audit results and strong documentation hygieneRequirements3-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in SaaS or technology firmsStrong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and VAT in Saudi ArabiaHands-on experience with Dafater or similar ERP tools (SAP B1, QuickBooks, Zoho)Excellent command of MS Excel and strong documentation disciplineProficiency in English communication (written and spoken)Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple accounting cycles (payment, collection, VAT, payroll)Preferred QualificationsACCA (Part Qualified), B.Com, or ICMAExperience in SaaS or subscription-based modelsBenefits💰 Competitive Package - Salary + equity options + performance incentives🧘 Flexible & Remote - Work from anywhere with an outcomes-first culture🤝 Team of Experts - Work with designers, engineers, and security pros solving real-world problems🚀 Growth-Focused - Your ideas ship, your voice counts, your growth matters🌍 Global Impact - Build products that protect critical systems and data
